During these last months we have recorded several Ambisonic room tones. This is a small selection of the best Room tones In IMMERSIVE format!
We choose ambisonic for our libraries as the most adaptive format in Audio Postproduction. We serve the edited and mastered AMBIX files, and decoded surround format in Dolby ATMOS, 5.1 and ST .
We recorded around 29 beautiful tracks in ambisonic format, 48Khz and 24 bits HD. As always, top quality recordings specially designed for film audio projects.
All our libraries are UCS compliant (universalcategorysystem.com). In this new category system all files contain extensive metadata like file description, Category & Subcategory. Metadata can be read and processed by the most common audio libraries management tools . Starting with Full support from Soundminer and more audio tools adopting this system, we are adopting metadata UCS system in our files!

Our Audio Craftsmen have captured the roars, rumbles and groans of a variety of Dinosaurs, from Triceratops to the King himself, T-Rex!
All sounds were recorded in our acoustically treated Foley suite in 24Bit 96kHz allowing further sonic manipulation. We then meticulously edited and tagged the files with extensive UCS compliant metadata for ease of use.
Different kinds of passing trains (cargo trains, local trains and long-distance trains).

46 recordings of trains passing close by. Also 15 recordings of trains driving over a big open stone bridge and 31 trains driving over a long tunnel.
This is most probably the first LCR passing trains sound library.

EMPTY CITIES DURING LOCKDOWN (restrictions due to Covid-19)
The lockdown was such a restrictive and devastating measure for all the societies we live in. At the same time though, it created a unique opportunity in history from a soundscape point of view.
This sound library frames that moment.
I believe it could have, in first place, an historical and anthropological value.
Attentive listeners will be able to appreciate how a reduced human presence did actually set free sounds that were barely audible, changing the perception of them. If earlier our ears used to meet constant sound streams, compact drones due to omnipresent traffic, now they can perceive a microcosm of sounds, small details, sound objects that bounce in the empty cities, finally free. Voices and murmuring of the few people around are all muffled by the use of face masks.
Sound designers will be able to make full use of this microcosm to paint their backgrounds with lively environments, full of small sounds, buzzes, scattered voices, thuds, bells, and so on, all reverberated in empty open spaces.
With human beings locked up, sounds got unlocked!

Featuring 38 pristine nature recordings from remote locations across the U.S., Biophony delivers a diverse collection of ambient environmental sounds. Delivered in 24-bit/96kHz FuMa Ambisonics format as well as stereo, this library contains amphibians, sea animals, insects and other wildlife interacting within distinct biomes. Use these sounds to enliven your nature scenes with a rich, authentic ecological backdrop.
To capture these sounds, recordist Jason Strawley and videographer Andrew Garraway traveled to four states from Florida to California with the goal of capturing a variety of ecosystems including swamps, ponds, and forests. The result is a dense collection of vibrant wildlife recordings brimming with life. According to Strawley, one of the most difficult aspects of the process was finding locations unaffected by human intervention, be it noise pollution or the overarching effects of climate change. In his own words:
“Human-made noise pollution foiled many a recording, forcing us to travel to more and more remote locations. We should all be advocating to preserve more wild lands, but it’s not just about the land – we need to preserve the soundscape and darkscape as well. Some national parks are doing a great job with this and I hope we can contribute to awareness in some tiny way.”
Each sound file is embedded with rich, descriptive metadata to help you find the exact ecosystem and animal recording you need. Biophony is also included in Pro Sound Effects’ CORE: Pro.
This is Part 01 of the “GlitchFX Percussion Sounds 02” Sample collection: It contains over hundreds of dirty, glitchy percussive sounds to spice up your tracks.
Noisy hats, dirty percussion sounds, devestated kicks and mutilated snare drums. Everything far from clean.
Fits perfectly for electronic music like GlitchHop, EDM, Trap, Dubstep, HipHop and many others. And of course for any kind of sound design.
Water Flowing features lots of flowing, from a single drip to the roar of the ocean. All recordings are completely clear and free from any birds and traffic in the background. This library contains recordings of waves, rivers, streams, waterfalls, drips onto different surfaces, sprinklers, pipes, street drains and much more, with near and distant perspectives of calm and turbulent flows.
Key features:
What do you get when you combine a nature preserve, a small lake with a stream, and a nearby airport? You get beautiful scenery and a confusing soundscape. Walk along the path in the Barbara Key Nature Preserve in Illinois. But careful not to step on any plants of flowers.
Park N Planes includes recordings of a small fishing lake inhabited by families and birds. Attached to the lake is a small stream, additionally recorded with a stereo pair of Aquarian H2a hydrophone microphones for low rumbles and high popping sounds. Listen as the birds chirp, bugs buzz and fly past the microphones, not to mention planes and helicopters flying overhead. Along with planes and helicopters, you will also hear distant vehicles.
Park N Planes has over three and a half hours of recordings packed into 27 files, over 1500+ sounds, and 15.17GB. All files are recorded using the Sennheiser MKH8050 and MKH30 into a Sound Devices Mix Pre-6. All Metadata tagged and updated using the Universal Category System in Soundminer, Basehead, and Soundly.

Construction Ambiances II is just over 2,4 Gb of loud and lively recordings of modern construction sites, a total of 78 minutes/31 files, all in 24bit/96kHz quality and UCS-compliant
Just like Construction Ambiances, this sound effects collection is stuffed with clean, ambient recordings of excavators, trucks, cranes, pile-drivers, drilling concrete, cutting re-bar, shoveling rubble, etc, etc. Recorded in Denmark, but with intelligible Danish words edited out, so should be very clean. Many individual sounds are over 3 minutes in length and recorded from more than one perspective, giving you more flexibility in your productions.
Construction Ambiances and Construction Ambiances II contain sounds from the same locations and sessions, which makes them perfect together – but each can be used on it’s own as well.
As always, you get searchable filenames and comprehensive metadata in CSV and ODS (OpenOffice) format. This allows you to import the metadata into your favorite librarian software.
• Clean, lively ambient recordings of construction sites – internal and external
• BWAV metadata embedded with even more included in CSV and ODS (OpenOffice) formats
Many flavours of train sound recordings in this collection. Some really nice rolling sounds, arrivals and departures. Some of them were recorded in Thailand, in between cars, where security is not a big deal. You may need a more secured transport with high speed train, french TGV, enjoy the incredible pass-by at 190mph.
Here are the chaotic, squealing, squelching insides of everyday electronic apparatus, such as cell phones, laptops, MiniDisc (I’m so old) players and battery drills. All files are UCS-compliant.
Sounds that drone, sounds that buzz – sounds that go “YipYipYiiiipfffrrrszz…”. No kidding. Recorded with induction coils/telephone pickups or whatever you want to call them, these sounds are excellent sound design material.
In fact, I couldn’t help “performing” a bit when recording some of them, just to add a little extra movement.

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
