Environment recordings, ambiences and soundscapes – from all over the world, and beyond
The first mobile roomtone library! Parked Cars is a collection of roomtones of car interiors at different times of day, often in the same locations with both windows up and windows down.
This library covers inner city, suburb, and a little country around the Los Angeles area
This is all mastered for Ambisonic B and Stereo, but can be further decoded into various surround formats
I can't tell you the number of times I've needed a good clean suburban atmos to fill out a scene. I've got plenty in my sfx collection, but not a whole lot that are local to Australia. So I thought I'd remedy that!
This collection covers a variety of locations, from quieter suburbs with a gentle breeze, a distant dog, some crickets perhaps and maybe a few birds, to the more densely populated areas, where the traffic and background noise is much higher and some construction is always going on. There some nighttime stuff in there, some ocean side, some with nature at its finest and even lawnmower and whipper snipper recordings so you can layer it all up.
All recorded at 24bit/96kHz, the library is 2.5GB and contains 36 tracks.
‘Busy Streets’ is a key library containing surround and stereo sound ambiences that will set the scene of bustling cities – recorded in Chicago, New York and Philadelphia. The library is available in stereo, and surround (Quad).
With ‘Busy Streets’ we used an exclusive SSS technique (Stealth Surround System) which means the recording process was hidden from the eyes even with 4 discrete channels.
This results in fully immersive, undisturbed and authentic city soundscapes.
74 Surround authentic ambience recordings between 1 to 5 minutes long each, non-disturbed city life using our SSS technique (Stealth Surround System):
• Crowd movements
• Pedestrians walking by and talking
• Traffic noises, train, metro, truck, bus, cars
• Evolving swarm
• Above and under bridges
• Narrow pathway
• Underground street
• Large boulevards

Learning Space is the go-to collection for clean and constant school environment room tones and ambiences.
Learning Space has over 1 hour / 2.2 GB worth of material that covers a whole large air-conditioned modern school building and also a small air-conditionless old abandoned school building. The length of the room tones are around 3 minutes and all the room tones are calibrated to -30 LUFS.
The whole library was recorded with a custom designed very low self-noise (4.5 dB) ORTF rig that gives you only the noise of the room and minimal noise from the recording equipment itself.
The variety in the sounds of the room tones gives you a great palette to experiment with various sound design tools so you can create e.g. spaceship ambiences, drones and otherworldly textures.
You get the sounds in two formats: 96 kHz, 24 bit and in 44.1 KHz, 16 bit, for more convenient ways of utilizing the sounds in games and other media.

Discover one of the biggest collections of bells ever recorded with nearly 6 hours of sound.
Beautiful Bells BUNDLE contains the solo ringing of 76 swinging bells and 135 stationary bells, captured in 62 bell towers, carillons, chapels, churches, cathedrals, basilicas and clock towers across France, with unprecedented quality. Most of the sounds were recorded inside bell towers.
Swinging bells are struck by a hanging clapper. They have a natural pitch modulation due to the Doppler effect, and a timbre modulation due to varying orientation. They produce a deep and lively sound and are mostly used to announce masses, religious holidays, weddings and funerals.
Stationary bells are struck by external hammers. They have a steady and rich tone, with a long sustain. They are mostly used as musical instruments in carillons, to indicate the hour in clock chimes or to alert the population in tocsins.
Every bell size and pitch is represented in this library, from huge 10 ton bourdon to tiny carillon bells weighing a few kilograms. You will find bells founded from 14th to 21st century with a great variety of timbres and tunings, over a range of more than 5 octaves. The sounds are sorted by note from D2 to G7.
The library contains 2 carillons with 54 bells and 10 bells, available as sound files and virtual instruments (NI Kontakt and EXS24 with round robin).
You will also get 15 peals of multiple bells, called plenum.
By sorting the solo sounds by location, you can recreate authentic bell combinations. You also have the freedom to create any custom combination or use the sounds as instruments in musical scores.
All the sounds in this library were recorded in bell towers or as close as possible to provide great sonic precision and optimal signal-to-noise ratio.
Over 12,000 kilometers were traveled during six months to get you one of the most exhaustive swinging bell collection ever recorded.

Atacama Desert is a collection of stereo and quad soundscapes recorded in the barren but amazingly beautiful desert plateau of Western Chile. This is the most arid desert on Earth, with some weather stations here having never recorded any rain. It’s a breathtaking place with incredible silence and powerful winds. The soundscapes in this collection were recorded around giant rock pillars, endless rock plains and fields of sparse dry vegetation.
This library is the perfect way to portray the barren expanse of the Atacama desert. Some of the soundscapes recorded are the lightest of desert airs. The others feature wind, from light and soft to heavy and gusty. Lastly, some of the recordings also include flies buzzing around.
This library was recorded in several locations on the border between Chile, Argentina and Bolivia . Reaching this part of the world was no easy task, as you can see in the second part of the teaser video.
Cinematic Waves is a collection of big wave crashes captured along the southern coast of Sri Lanka.
Huge waves crashing on the shore and into rocks were captured then carefully edited and enhanced to create a useful small sound pack to add punch and power to any ocean themed projects.
This collection contains a number of ‘one shot’ designed waves plus a few longer wave ambience bed tracks where you can truly feel the force of the ocean tides.
Sounds recorded in Stereo 24bit/48kHz and UCS compatible.

DESCRIPTION:
• In Hoot, get an eerie collection of North American owl ambiences. Hear lonesome Great Horned Owls calling on dark nights in the desert and cute bouncing ball calls of Western-screech Owl duets. Hear the haunting hoots of the arctic as the rising calls of Boreal Owls float through boreal forests. Hear the resonant calls of Barred Owls in the old growth of the Pacific Northwest and the almost-silent whooshes of Burrowing Owls soaring through the big sky of West Texas.
• This library offers you an extensive collection of sounds from a majestic night time hunter. This library grew out of hundreds of hours of nature recordings and several case of mistaken identity. Lucky for my mics the owl realized my furry blimp wasn’t a tasty rabbit at the last second! I hope you enjoy these sounds. Thanks for listening.

Factory Ambiences features sounds from the largest laminate factory in Europe.
It has huge production lines where laminate of all types is manufactured by almost completely automated machineries and robotics.
The library contains 64 stereo takes gathered at 31 spots inside the main production hall and from across the factory premises.
These sounds don't explain laminate production sound-wise but deliver universal factory ambiences instead.
All files are BWF-metatagged, relevant informations can be seen with Soundly, Basehead, Resonic or Windows Explorer / OSX Finder. Additonally the download contains spreadsheets in all relevant formats.

Second episode of our journey to Moscow, Russia, but this time – during summer and autumn
We recorded the most interesting sonic atmospheres, such as wet and dry traffic, streets, singing birds, wind in the endless parks, fountains, construction work, yelling children, rain and thunder, suburban villages, crowds and many more.
To capture this sound palette I made another stealth recording kit, but now, using LDC (large diaphragm condenser) microphones. This has improved the sound quality and made the recordings even more detailed, to continue creating the largest sound library series about Russia.

There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
