Hyper- Realistic Textures (104 sounds)
These are hyper close-up recordings of various kinds of props (food, fabrics, materials).
Since they are really rough, they’ll inspire you to create something cool using them as sound sources.
Their proximity allows you to use them for macro-shots, CGI and motion pieces, hyper-detailed images.
Granular Whooshes (76 sounds)
From sci-fi granular to totally organic, a large number of whooshes, passbys, dopplers to give a natural sense of motion to your project.
Minimal One Shots (62 sounds)
This is the category of short and tiny sounds: small collapsing, fractures, all with a premium high-end sonic detail.
You can make your organic foley drumkit using them as a sample into your electronic music project.
Organic Impacts (17 sounds)
Powerful, organic, natural-sounding with a big low end, these impacts are ready for your earth’s destruction shots.
Granular Atmospheres (16 sounds)
Abstract but generated from organic recordings, these atmospheres will help you to get the right “other world” dimension to your project
Low End Rumbles (12 sounds)
Last but not least, do you need more power in the low end? You can layer these sounds to enforce subsonic frequencies giving a new taste to other existing sounds.
BREAKDOWN ELEMENTS | A bold collection of sound effects for visual effects breakdowns.
Our objective was to create a unique and easy-to-use selection of sound effects that takes an entirely different approach to cliche synthesized sci-fi sound effects.
The majority of elements have originated from organic field recordings that have been elegantly manipulated into a wild new form, achieving a natural, physical vibe for each sound.
The collection is structured into eight categories: BED, BUILD, IMPACT, INTERFERENCE, REWIND, RISER, TRANSITION and WHOOSH. Each element has been designed to work both by itself or layered to produce more complex textures. Additionally, each element has 4-6 variations to maximise versatility.
All sounds are royalty free and equipped with comprehensive Soundminer metadata for rapid access.
Do you need some drones inspired by space? Space Drones is a pack inspired by different solar objects. It contains 17 perfectly looping files, each with their unique spacey texture. The loops are based on solar system objects, interstellar phenomenon and human mission control transmissions. The sounds are fictional but are based in part on real sound transmissions from space to give it some realism.

Tibetan Singing Bowls – The ancient brain entrainment methodology for healing and meditation. Tibetan Singing Bowls have been used for centuries for healing and meditation purposes. They create a range of sounds to restore the normal vibratory frequencies of diseased and out-of-harmony parts of the body, mind and soul. They are also used for sound baths, which is when participants lay on the floor and let the waves of sound from the Tibetan Singing Bowls wash over them.
9 total bowls were recorded. Notes C, D, D#, E, F, G, A, A one octave up and B. A variety of bowl sizes were used from 8 to 12 inches.

Motion Texures is a broad library with a narrow purpose: to draw sonic lines and create gently moving sonic textures.
The concept is that consistent sound of friction will translate well to visual design elements that have CG and text movement on screen.
We recorded the friction sounds of dozens of small to medium sized props in constant motion. Major categories include metal, plastic, cloth, wood and skin. Some of the most interesting sounds came from the props that had small cavities such as the spray can lid and the water bottle. The constant changing of the cavity state relative to the mics creates strange vocal sounds.
Once the sounds were recorded we employed a proprietary smoothing process as a second pass to the sounds and provided them in addition to the original textures. These smoothed out sounds still have the organic quality of the original recordings, but with far fewer transient events. The end result are sounds that feel straighter than the more circular sounding original textures.
Inside of the Kontakt instruments we stacked layers and effects to create a broad base of deep and interesting textures. Many of the Kontakt presets mangle the sounds far beyond recognition of the original recordings.
This Double Bass & Violin sound effects library not only includes weird low double bass bow strokes, stabs, vibrating strings, drones, harsh harmonics, string scrapes, bow stroke voices, and bright violin tones and screams. It also includes the opportunity to open up a whole new set of sonic adventures.
Why? All double bass sounds have been recorded at 192K/24 bit, with an amazing stereo set of close up Sanken CO100K microphones, and a stereo set of Sennheiser Mkh 8020 microphones, capturing low end and room. All violin sounds have been recorded with a single Sanken CO100K microphone.
Common for all Sanken files is that you're able to either extreme time stretch/time compress, or pitch up and down the files, and by this discover a whole new world of sounds – without adding nasty degenerating artifacts or muffling the sound. The ultra-high frequency range of the Sanken microphones does really make a great difference!
Recordings these sounds was a pure blast. The amount of versatile organic material in the set is great. The bass instrument has been played in a very innovative way, using both regular bow on strings and bass body, but also finger cymbals attached to specific places for a vibrating ring or rattle noise, creating some really other-worldly sound effects, and almost vocal-like patterns.
While the double bass material produces a massive low end without any further processing, the violin recordings really benefit from being stretched and pitched. This makes all the non-audible bright sounds captured by the Sanken microphones come through.

We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
