Dogs is a great collection of 14 different breeds, covering all aspects of a dogs life: barking, growling, whining, whimpering, playing, eating, sleeping, and walking around. There are in-your-face sounds and subtle sounds. This collection also includes some studio-recorded Foley, and 14 ambiences with dogs barking in the background.
More than your average beast sound set, this library brings you a large selection of dog vocalizations, howls, growls, cries, whines, huffs, puffs, sighs, and more.
An epic collection of dog sounds, recorded in Ultra-HD 24bit 192k resolution. This library features a variety of vocal sounds from 14 trained animals. Included are barks, whines, yelps, growls, snarls, and sounds that can’t even be defined.
“Wimpy Dog” is a collection of over 35 different recordings of a particularly sad German shepherd. He whines, he calls out, he yelps, he pants and pleads for attention in a truly expressive manner. He’ll be sure to bring some much needed character to any dog you’ve got onscreen or a creature you are designing.
The takes are generous in length, with plenty of breaths before and after each vocalization simplifying the creation of complex sequences. All of this was recorded outside, with great signal to noise, ie. very little air. No kennel reverb or cage moves and only the occasional birds in the background. That adds up to sounds which will hold up to robust amounts of processing.
Big dogs, small dogs, relaxed dogs, crazy dogs, dirty dogs, this collection has every dog you could ever need. From the haughty GROWLS of fierce Chihuahuas to the sad WHINES of a German Shephard when their beloved owner has left the room. DOGS will have your paws full of sounds from humankind’s best friends.
Shiba dog is a collection of dog sounds recorded in our studio. We brought two Shibas to the studio and let them play with each other. One of them is a very vocal dog and the other one is very quiet. This allowed us to capture a wide variety of sounds, from barking to panting, without a lot of overlapping.
We recorded everything with four microphones to get the most out of this session. We included all the good takes in this collection, so each sound is covered with at least three microphones. The following microphones were used:
• Line Audio CM3 small diaphragm condenser (cardioid)
• Line Audio OM1 small diaphragm condenser (omni)
• Rode NT2000 large diaphragm condenser (cardioid)
• Rode NTG3 shotgun
A big thank you goes out to Jory Prum for helping out with planning and recording!
No animals were harmed or mistreated during the recording of this collection.

This is a dog sound effects library of a chihuahua who was eating a treat and tried being intimidating to keep any potential treat thieves away. She would growl, snarl and make various crazy sounds when someone was within five feet of her and the tasty treat, so a microphone was set up.
The metadata is UCS Compliant.
These are great sounds that can be played as is or manipulated however you see fit. They pitch down nice and can sound much bigger.

Recorded in the woods, two pit bull families. These guys are all playing, but they sound totally fierce. Compress a little, pitch down a little, all fun.
These are wonderful recordings of dogs. Very scary very vocal very violent. Really good deep growling with lots of character. Just a joy to design with.
Introducing ‘Expressive Dogs,’ a canine sound effects library featuring 172 vocal expressions recorded at 96kHz/24 bit. Originating from a curated set of sounds recorded for a film project, where infusing character and emotion into the featured dog was paramount, these recordings have proven to be so versatile and impactful that we couldn’t resist sharing them with the world!
This extensive collection captures a diverse spectrum of expressive dog noises, ranging from playful grunts and impatient whines to heartwarming breaths and gentle whimpers. Whether you’re working on film projects, animations, or games, these high-quality recordings offer a great toolset of emotionally charged dog sounds to enhance and bring life and personality to your dog based projects.
As a side note rest assured that our beloved Session Dog, Paddy, was pampered and treated like the star he is during these recordings. It only takes a shake of his treat jar to get him singing – a testament to the joy and excitement behind each sound!

Garden and nature in April and August: the fresh spring air filled with a morning concert of birds, crickets and summer ambiences, echoing neighborhood chatter, gardening sounds, dogs barking, roosters crowing, jets and propeller planes passing overhead, as well as the dead silence and eerie presence of nocturnal animals in the depths of the night; the awakening of nature and residents in the early morning hours, and much more.
‘Residential Forest I + II’ combines two libraries of long-term recordings from a German allotment environment into one. This remote area, surrounded by forest, features cottages, ponds, and an abundance of natural sounds. The library captures a blend of suburban, residential, and forest ambiences.
‘Residential Forest I + II’ includes 85 unique ambiences recorded in Germany during summer (August 2021) and spring (April 2022). From these 40 hours of recordings, I have carefully edited and curated the best moments, creating a 9 GB soundscape journey from afternoon to evening, through the night, and into the morning and midday hours in this residential forest setting.
To capture the profound silence of the night, I used a matched pair of Rode NT1-A microphones with exceptionally low noise, paired with a Tascam HD-P1 recorder.
The total duration of the library is approximately 9 hours, with most ambiences ranging from 5 to 10 minutes. Some are longer, while a few are shorter.
‘Residential Forest II’ was recorded in AB stereophony at 48 kHz, 24-bit.

There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
