Wind Elements – Interior is 75 minutes/2.43 Gb of howling, blasting and fluttering wind, recorded from inside various buildings. 90 separate files – recorded in 24bit/96kHz using Sennheiser MKH & Primo EM172 microphones, and mastered in X/Y stereo.
This collection is the bigger, badder sequel to bestseller Howling Winds – Interior, with more of everything: fresh recordings, more types of wind, more locations and just more variation.
Everything from violent blasting and howling, to gentle, caressing wind. Some with sleet and rain, cracking and creaking of window frames and roof materials, others with faint sound of rustling leaves or urban buzz.
You get both long ambiances from various locations, as well as plenty of short files to sweeten up your mix.
Some sounds have been eq'ed aggressively to enhance the feeling of being indoors, but very little processing has been applied otherwise. You'll hear a bit of hiss here and there; I left it in because I felt noise reduction would take away too much character in those specific cases.
Modulated Movement is a cohesive and potent collection of the sounds things make when in motion. Be it mechanical, organic, tech, sci-fi, futuristic, articulated or ambient, this collection plays the perfect compliment to characters, machines, objects or any graphic assets that are flying, creeping, crawling, crashing, sliding, swinging, swiping or displaying any kind of transitions or motions in the real world or even closer to home, in the unreal world of your projects. + Includes embedded Soundminer meta data.
This collection is a great fit for creative audio settings like movie trailers, explainer videos, animations, multimedia, game and movie sound design or straightforward video productions.
The Modulated Movement collection includes more than 500 dynamic, unique, trade craft movement and transition sounds including morphs, whooshes, swishes, transitions, projectile throws, mechanical movement sounds. Modulate the motion in your next audio soundscape with Epic Sounds and FX Modulated Movement.

Robotics Lab is 26 minutes/788 MB of industrial robots, 3D-printers & CNC cutters in 62 separate files – recorded in 24bit/96kHz using Sennheiser MKH microphones.
This library gives you recordings of two different ABB industrial robots; the large IRB 6620 and the smaller IRB 120. You get both single, isolated movements and more complex sequences with the robots moving on multiple axes simultaneously. Also included are takes of the robots idling, with some subtle but interesting sounds as the result.
I also recorded Ultimaker 2 3D-printers – 3 of them running at once, as well as isolated sounds from a single printer. A large Zünd flatbed CNC-cutter was also recorded. All in all, lots of servos and stepper-motors, with lots of whizzing, whirring, clicking and ratcheting for your sound design projects.
Microbes is 76 minutes/2.12 Gb of microscopic life forms skittering and scurrying about in their strange world. 326 separate files – recorded in 24bit/96kHz using various microphones.
A construction kit of the sounds you need to design organisms on the microscopic level. Whether you're making a medical animation, a nature documentary or something entirely fictional, Microbes delivers in skittering, fluttering and slithering sounds. Anything from single-cell organisms to complex insects is possible. Sounds are grouped in a variety of creature “species”, allowing you to create different voices with a good amount of nuance in performance. You also get a range of bubbling and swarming sounds, as well as wet and slimy elements. To complete your microscopic universe, there are a number of abstract and otherworldly ambiances.
Sounds were created using various physical instruments and props, such as a hardware modular synth, bowed metal springs, a cactus and good fashioned old voice acting. No actual microbes were harmed (or even consulted) during production. You can read more about the creation of Microbes here.
We recorded an old abandoned school and gained a lot of nice and very unique sound fx for your next sounddesign project. You’ll get up to 1.26 GB / 172 mono & stereo files, tagged (for trouble free use in your loved data base program) and carefully mastered in 24Bit/96kHz.

This library of environmental recordings is the culmination of three recording expeditions to the stunningly gorgeous Pacific Northwest. We visited a variety of locations ranging from urban Vancouver, Portland, and Seattle to the wild and untamed Olympic Peninsula. We captured dynamically disparate sounds such as a noisy Seattle shipyard and the quietest location in the continental US – deep within the primordial Hoh Rainforest. There are excellent crowd wallas, and contemplative mountain streams. From beaches to mountain tops to luxury high rises no environment was left un-recorded! This is what the Northwest sounds like!
In all, this library features 69 individual files totaling over three hours of runtime. Total un-zipped file size is over six gigabytes. All sounds have been edited to remove discernable dialog and unwanted noises. What’s left is pure, loop-able ambience suitable for no-fuss editing.
All sounds were captured on a Sound Devices 744T recorder. Microphones used include a Sanken CSS-5 stereo mic and a matched stereo pair of Sennheiser 8040s in ORTF configuration. All recordings are accompanied by a high quality photograph for reference and tagged with Pro Tools searchable metadata.
As a special incentive we will also include a bonus mini-library of ambiences from the Irish countryside that James recorded on a recent trip home! Highlights include some great mountain winds and a rare recording of a starling formation taking flight!

Have you ever wanted waterfall recordings with character, and texture, as opposed to hours of white noise?
Discover the roaring sound of a hidden waterfall, crashing on jagged rocks, pure ice-cold mountain water permeating the air.
The waterfall, hidden in the Carpathian mountains, is small enough that it still has texture and movement, whilst retaining that unmistakable roaring sound.
Recorded from different perspectives, distances and angles, over an hour and a half of recordings have been edited down to just over 11 minutes of audio at 24bit/96kHz, containing the essence of the waterfall.
The files are tagged with rich SoundMiner metadata, explaining in detail the perspective from which each sound was recorded.
Discover the quaint charm of a sleepy Northern English town, on a cold and windy night, the sound of windchimes shimmering through the air.
The Dormant Village Library was recorded in a small village in North Yorkshire, England, on the night before Christmas. It was very cold and windy, and there were almost no people around, as everyone was sipping hot cocoa in their homes.
The library was recorded in a few different locations, some close to the little traffic that was still present, and some further away. The recordings were then polished and edited down to just about 12 minutes, preserving the essence of the location.
In addition to the descriptive SoundMiner metadata embedded in the files, I have also added markers in iZotope RX, which can be read in some versions of SoundMiner, Reaper, etc.
The markers indicate small sonic events, such as distant, melodic windchimes, or when the wind picks up, allowing you to understand what happens throughout the recording without having to listen to the whole thing.
The Ambiance Collection 1 aims to provide a complete solution for a wide variety of sound scenarios.

A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
