The RE-201 Space Echo. Introduced in 1973 is Roland’s most notable outboard FX unit, its sound is both utility and musical. The Space Echo carves its place in music history with its sweeping echoes and infinite oscillations. Its warm and pleasant sound has been heard a million times in a million different ways in both score and album. Hear its soothing oscillations, its creaking pleather case, switches, knobs, and vintage science fiction expressive UI and emotive aural gestures.
We have designed this library to be as useful as possible while offering an insight into every sound the RE-201 Space Echo offers. This means both the internal, and external sound sources from the whirls and vibrations of its motor, to the clicks, snaps, and clunks of its switches and into the world of its echoes, spring reverb, and oscillations of its processed sound.
Full: The complete library.
Micro: A cut down library featuring some of our favourite sounds from the complete collection.
‘Dark World’ is a collection of 50 drones and moods (250 mins +) that explore ideas of designed spaces.

Please note that my sound libraries do not go on sale (this is so prices are fair all year round), and they are sold exclusively on asoundeffect. :-)

Databending: A digital art form where flaws in digital systems are exploited and used for creative purposes.
Data Disruption contains 200 sounds sourced from raw computer files which have been interpreted as audio data. Bitmaps, executables, plugin files and more have been exploited to bring you a unique, varied collection of sound effects and atmospheres ready for a range of productions.
This sound collection has 100 'raw' files which include harsh, random data noises, intense drones and a versatile selection of glitch one shots as well as 100 processed sounds which were subject to extreme editing and mangling to deliver an array of abstract sonic artefacts.
Most useful for scenarios where computer technology – known or otherwise – is glitching out, these sounds are best suited to Science Fiction productions which call for the noise of broken communications, signal failures, ailing machines, industrial settings, planetary ambience and dystopian soundworlds.
That's not to say they won't also come in handy for Glitch/IDM music producers looking to build up an original collection of sounds for their latest kit, or for the creative sound designer to further shape these sounds into anything from user interface clicks, blips and bleeps to surreal soundscapes and beyond.

Get an extensive collection of South African nature ambiences (average duration: 5 minutes), from places like the Mhkaya Jungle, Kruger National Park, The Wetlands and more. Locations include jungles, swamps, ponds, rivers and towns. This library features the original Hummer with the model name H1. The Hummer was originally designed for military use, the Humvee M998, but became popular also on the civilian market. This vehicle has the bigger V8 turbo diesel engine with 195 horsepower. The recordings consist of eight onboard channels, four engine, two exhaust, interior left & right and twelve exterior channels. It contains startups, idle, shutdowns, blips, steady RPMs, accelerations and decelerations, passbys, approaches, aways, and more.
Vibration is 40 minutes/676 MB of vibrating, rattling and resonating metal and plastic panels in 96 separate files – recorded in 24bit/96kHz using contact microphones. All files are UCS-compliant.
This is a collection of sounds that rattle, clatter, vibrate, buzz, hum and oscillate. Think huge cargo vehicles, passenger ferries or mechanical installations with loose metal panels, resonating generators and such. The vibrating was done with a 100 watt tactile transducer (like a bass speaker with no cone) hooked up to an amplifier, and getting it’s signal from a modular synth. Frequencies from LFO’s and VCO’s were mixed, to get interesting vibrations in both sub-audio and audio range.
Holding the transducer by hand allowed me to move it around and find the sweet spots on the various objects (a steel filing cabinet, a steel suitcase and a spring reverb tank come to mind). Depending on the amplitude of the input signal, different sounds would emerge from the same waveforms. Now and again, the transducer would get too hot to handle, and on one or two occasions, the thermo-relay on the amp would kick in. Excitement in the studio!
Get the sound of rain – recorded from an interior perspective.
This library contains various types and intensities of rain, from soft dripping to downpour, and the files are long enough to cover the rainbursts from start to end. Most of the files are also easily loopable.
Some of the sounds are recorded with closed windows for a realistic indoor perspective. In other takes a window is left ajar to enhance the sound of the rain outside and four files gives you an exterior perspective from a porch.
Locations covered: two greenhouses, two cars, a privy, a shed, a boathouse, a variety of rooms and roof materials.
This library is the result of tinkering with shotgun mics recording inside of different tube structures. When our initial tests produced a wide range of sonic colors, we went all in.
The tubes used include organic and man-made materials, some rigid, some flexible, some dense, some light, all with varying lengths, diameters, and thicknesses. They consist of bamboo, PVC, 2 variations of vinyl, thin plastic, copper, tin, rubber, dense foam, and a steel-coiled membrane. Each material has a different effect on the sounds passing through them. We generated turbulent drones, thick strikes, resonant scrapes, noisy bells, delicate debris, and more. The overarching characteristics are soft, insulated, and misty. Due to the behavior of the waves in the open tubes and the pickup pattern of the shotgun mics, there is a natural frequency modulation that gives the sound a slightly narrowed, hollow timbre. They work very well in simulated settings, enclosed spaces, and when there is a need to exaggerate the magnitude of tiny worlds. But they are equally as useful as raw design fodder, especially when a unique texture is needed.
This is our first library created solely for the sake of experimentation, though based on the results, it may not be the last!
Vaeyan IV delivers a massive set of assorted sound design ingredients for your audio alchemy. It includes assets captured from natural ambiances, vehicles, tools, cameras, slingshots, scissors, clay whistles, flutes, ceramic jars, dumpsters, kitchen appliances, deconstructed fans, toys, doors, windows, vintage furniture, fountains, projectors, and even a slap bracelet. That’s right, a slap bracelet.
As with Vaeyan I, II, and III, this is a huddling of field recordings and sound designs that do not quite form a library on their own. However, together they make up an audio FX treasure chest gleaming with gold and silver audio loot!

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
