The sound pack includes 31 files in Ambix.wav format and 31 files in wav format that can be used to create ambience sound inside a passenger plane.
All recordings were made with a Zoom H3-VR recorder in the Ambisonics A format (96 kHz 24 Bit) and then converted to the AmbiX and Stereo formats (96 kHz 24 Bit), which are located in different folders of this sound pack.
These sound effects were recorded next to a pilot school in Mexico, capturing the distinctive sounds of small airplanes flying overhead. This library features a variety of flybys, from distant hums to powerful close passes, with different aircraft models and varying speeds. The recordings showcase natural Doppler effects, creating a dynamic and realistic sense of movement.
These sounds are ideal for background use in your projects, whether you’re designing immersive aviation scenes, recreating realistic outdoor ambiences, or adding depth to documentary and cinematic settings.
Engines in the Sky has a runtime of 32 minutes and includes 12 long-duration files.
These sound effects have been carefully curated and edited, providing a ready-to-use and royalty-free sample pack.
These samples can be used for various applications, from sound design and compositions for TV, film, and documentaries to video game development and music creation.
They are UCS compliant, with the UCS-compliant document included in the download file.
Each sample comes with embedded metadata for easy organization.

Ambisonic Aircraft pass by – low altitude is a collection of airliner passes recorded at the Barcelona airport. Barcelona airport offers the advantage of proximity to the landing strip, allowing one to stand directly beneath low-flying airplanes and capture high-quality sound easily.
A special rig was created for this recording session, holding a Sennheiser Ambeo VR mic, an XY stereo-matched pair of Neumann 184, and an AB stereo pair of DPA 4062.
Besides the natural differences between the microphones, The 1st order ambisonic signals allows rendering of the sonic sphere in multiple methods and changing the pass-by direction to meet your requirements.
The Neumann 184 XY pair reflects a destructive and wide stereo image, with minimal background information. The DPA 6042 has a crisp frequency response. Rycote windshields were used for the Amber and Newmann mic, and Bubblebe was used for the DPA.
Various aircraft were recorded for this release, including:
This collection is great for post-production, VR/AR experiences, game developers, and any real-time 3D audio engine.

The Ambisonic Airplanes Cessna 172 library, is a small library procured from a single short flight. The flight was recorded in it’s entirety and edited down for easier use.
Types of recordings include idling, flying, flying with windows open, taxiing, taxiing with windows open, engine turning on, engine turning off, plane during takeoff, plane during landing, plane engine test (1700 RPM test) and more.
The library was recorded using a Sennheiser Ambeo VR Microphone onto a Sound Devices MixPre 6. The library has a fairly large size because we have conveniently provided 4 versions of the same files to make it easier and more flexible to use. Included you will find B-Format wav files (FuMa and AmbiX) A-Format raw wav files and a Binaural stereo mix down. The library includes a total of 17 unique files and 68 total files.

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
