This unique collection captures the nuanced sounds of writing on paper, featuring a delightful array of scribbles, doodles, and expressive punctuation. Whether you’re crafting a whimsical animation or enhancing a film, our library is your go-to resource for diverse writing sounds. Transform your work with the charming essence of handwritten artistry.
Static Space is a collection of 155 UCS-compliant space or Sci-Fi sound effects, focused on continuous, seamless loops. Instead of fly-by’s and accelerations, you get the sounds of space ships going at cruise speeds or idling. If you need motion, just add panning, fades and doppler as you like.
Here are plenty of loops for designing alien environments, including engine rooms, general room tones, strange transmissions and more. Additionally, I have made sure to add plenty of variety; both in terms of moods, frequency content and tonality. Some of these are unmistakably space sound effects, while others are more ambiguous, and could be used for other high tech environments as well.
You will find both low- and high end sweeteners, so when ever you see the words “rumble” or “low end” in a file name; watch that master fader! Furthermore, I went for a strong, almost musical tone, in some sounds, while others are much more noise-based and abrasive.
Wind In Broadleaf Trees is a collection of recordings focusing on wind through broadleaf trees. Recorded in a Swedish forest in October it is representative of the most common broadleaf trees in Europe and other areas with a temperate climate.
In this collection I wanted to capture evocative and emotional wind sounds, from the soothing and relaxing soft winds, tense moderate winds, dramatic strong winds and the transitions between the different emotions or speeds of wind.
The collection was recorded at 24 bits 96Khz with an A-B stereo setup. It contains both longer files, with two minutes and more in length and shorter files edited to be a seamless loop. The files also come with embedded metadata.
Whether is be empty pool room tones, busy children pools or calm exterior lap pools this library has you covered. Recorded at 10 different public swimming pools this library contains different spaces (interior and exterior) differentiated by the size, space and number of swimmers.
All sounds were recorded using the DPA 5100 and Sound Devices 788T. This library is available in stereo or 5.0 (5.0 package contains stereo down mixes as well).

Sigil is a unique library of dark, gritty, raw, and eerie textures and tones made from one-of-a-kind handmade electro-acoustic instruments and found objects created by sound designer and musician Nathan Moody.
Sigil provides an edgy set of layers that are rich with organic complexity: Skittery bows on handmade string instruments; “prepared” string tones and textures, bowed and rubbed springs under tension; salvaged rusty metal tubes; perforated steel gongs; aluminum water bottle bells; and deep, resonant handmade percussion instruments. Textures include chugs, shrieks, groans, drones, bounces, peals, and rattles. The sounds range from blissfully musical to horrifyingly atonal, and are equally at home lending an uneasy tone to either avant garde musical works or multi-layered sound effects, especially in thriller or horror genres.
The organic nature of the Sigil library means that its sounds hold up well to extreme processing like pitch shifting and granular resynthesis. The handmade nature of the instruments used means that there’s no other library quite like it.
The recordings were made with a variety of pickups, contact microphones, and traditional microphones, through various high-end “character” mic preamps selected uniquely per microphone and per instrument. Full details are in the library’s documentation.
This collection was recorded at 24 bits, 96 kHz and includes over three hours of recordings with more than 600 individual sounds, all fully tagged with metadata. Multiple articulations and voicing are ganged into single files for convenience and organization.
We all know what central London sounds like. It’s noisy, crowded, and full of people trying to sell you watches. Ok, maybe that last point wasn’t that relevant, but have you ever wondered what lies beyond?
A short drive towards the suburbs will reveal a world filled with warm beer, cricket, and endless parks, where deer roam free.
When planning this library, the intention was to capture the quieter side of the metropolis, all year round! As a result, this library will receive multiple updates over the coming months. There will be one more summer update soon, along with an autumn update, winter update, and spring update.
So far, the first version of the library contains 15 .WAV stereo files at 96kHz/24 bit, recorded with a Sony PCM-D100/1, and contains approximately 35 minutes of summer ambiances in different locations throughout suburban London. Over the following months, I’ll keep traveling around the suburbs, collecting more and more ambiances, each update representing its own season.
Each file has been carefully edited in iZotope RX in order to remove as much unwanted noise as possible, such as random shouting, barking, etc. This will provide you with clean ambiences that will add character to your projects, without distracting the audience. That being said, do please note that the recordings contain some amount of traffic noise, and some also contain airplane noise. This is, of course, unavoidable when recording in a city such as London.
In addition to that, each file has been filled to the brim with SoundMiner metadata, allowing you to quickly search through the files, waste less time and dedicate more time to what you love doing!
This ambience sound pack comprises of street recordings taken in the city of Edinburgh. Expect lots of cars driving by, traffic, distant chatter, construction works, machinery and even the occasional seagull. Perfect for use with film to add ambient realism to outdoor scenes.
– This pack contains 7 beautiful long soundscapes (5 mins+) and 18 other shorter clips
– Sounds were recorded professionally using a shock-mounted Mid-Side microphone with a windjammer
– 1 hour long
– Metadata included

In a remote research lab in the north-east of England, scientists have been secretly carrying out experiments on a number of human test subjects. There is no record of what these experiments entailed or who authorized them, but one thing we do know is that something went horrendously wrong and transformed these once-innocent, everyday people into something else entirely… Something inherently evil.
Herein lies an audio documentation of these wretched beasts as they run amok with only one thing on their minds… To feed and to destroy.
Big booms, slow creaks, simple open/closes and key movements. Everything you’ll need from doors located in stairwells or spaces featuring long reverb.
Recorded using a variety of microphones to capture the natural reverb as well as unique perspectives. This library is delivered to you at 24bit/96khz.

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
