Curated from an extensive vehicle workup of a 2001 Saleen Mustang from The Odyssey Collection by Academy Award®-winners Mark Mangini & Richard L. Anderson, this library includes a wide variety of powerful car recordings from different angles, distances, speeds, and perspectives.
What is a workup? A workup is a thorough series of recordings of the same subject from many different perspectives. Having these options at your fingertips helps to quickly and intuitively cut sound effects for a scene without needing to reuse or process sounds to make them fit the picture.

• In Pacific Northwest: Wind get an expansive collection of coniferous wind from the pristine wilderness of the Eastern Cascades, Washington. Hear the soothing wind of short needled Douglas fir and Spruce. Hear gentle whisps topping distant ridge tops and blustery 50 mph blasts swinging the forest in a wandering dance. Hear the austere emptiness of recently burned forest and eerie creaks so emotional it sounds like the old trees are talking.

Our Auto Repair (248 HQ – 96kHz/24bit) library includes both tools and general ambiences of auto repair shops as well as home garage sounds. Hit play, close your eyes and you will find yourself amidst cars, toolboxes, revving engines, mechanisms, servo sounds, metal clunks, and car mechanics in action.
In this library, you will find audio samples of wrenches and ratchets being dropped on various surfaces and with various intensities, different kinds of metal clunk and mechanical motions, as well as audio of mechanics operating hydraulic machines and servomotors, handling screwdrivers, welding and hammering chassis, handling screwdrivers/ pneumatic pistols and sawing/scraping metal auto parts. All captured in real garages and auto repair shops.
In addition to the sounds mentioned above, we have included a variety of clean, studio recordings of hand tools and metal parts that can be used as starting points for further sound design. We had cars and bikes brought in, which we used to record a series of engine startups/shutdowns, idling, and revs which might serve as starters for creating multilayered, compelling atmospheres.

This diverse library consists of 101 ambience recordings, both external and internal recordings from around Europe and the UK . It also includes a number of very useable room tone recordings. This library would be very useful in any film makers / sound designer’s toolbox.

There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
