Lawn Mower Ambience was recorded in an opportunist moment whilst recording another sample pack
We centred the Zoom H4N facing an average UK back garden on a spring ish day and recorded someone naturally mowing their lawn with an electric mower.
This sample pack has different perspectives from close to distant mowing, with different panning elements which were recorded naturally from up to down to left to right and a lawn Mower stopping.
This sample pack will be great for a lawn mower in the background of your project or wanting a natural sound palette of someone mowing a lawn. Lawn Mower Ambience has been edited to allow a drop in ready and Royalty Free sample pack. These Samples can be used in a variety of projects from Sound Designing for TV, Film, Documentaries and Video Games. UCS Compliant and Metadata is attached to the samples
We’ve Bundled together our Sinister Textures Sample Packs

Typewriters is a sound effects collection chock-full of vintage typewriters making sounds beyond the simple click-clack-clunk heard in so many TV shows and movies. I was curious if there was more to the sound of these old machines than meets the naked ear. Would recording them with high-end Barcus Berry contact microphones help bring out the best in them sonically? After recording 20 typewriters for this library, and performing a variety of keystrokes and actions on each in isolation, I can definitively say, yes.
Included are standard, portable and ultraportable machines from the early 20th century to the mid-1970s. Each machine, metal or plastic, emits sounds that are almost musical in nature. These files can enhance your next sound design project in nuanced ways that exceed the usual clickity-clack-clunk-thwack-smack we associate with typewriters. You’ll get a variety of zips, rips, twangs, growls, bounces, snaps, zings, rings and dainty end-of-line warning bell dings.
In this library you will find recordings of walkman with radio.
Sounds include actions such as pressing buttons, tuning radio stations and frequency noises.
These sounds are perfect for sound design in movies, games, documentaries, etc.
These sounds were all recorded with microphone shotgun Rode NTG5.
After working these sounds in post production, this library comes with 47 incredible walkman with radio sfx sounds.
In this library you will find a dark ambience sounds.
These sounds are perfect to use in movies, trailers, games, documentaries, etc.
These sounds were all created by me on virtual synthesizers.
After working these sounds in post-production, this library comes with 10 dark ambiences.
Specially recorded for sound design, The Guitaresque Power Tools Library include clips featuring bizarre whines, grinding, hums, and more as power tools are “played” on guitar necks and bridges. Clips include rising and falling tones and one-shots.
Multichannel recordings of the ice (in sync): stereo, mono and underwater/under ice recordings. Audio tool for further sound design, production etc.
Multichannel, recordings of the ice; Surface/underwater recordings of the ice. Check the sound list for info/ object of recording.
Each multichannel recording (or position/place of recording) is in a separate folder. Each channel/recording is Metadata tagged with description of equipment/format/character. Each multichannel recording (each folder) consist of:
– 4 Ch STEREO Mix, all channels mixed together (surface and underwater), ready for use stereo file
– Ch 01-MID, mono file, front/MID microphone-cardioid, RAW
– Ch 02-SIDE, mono file, SIDE microphone-figure of eight, RAW
– Ch 03-HYDRO LEFT, mono file, Left side hydrophone, RAW
– Ch 04-HYDRO Right, mono file, Right side hydrophone, RAW
– STEREO HYDRO Mix, stereo file, two hydrophones mixed together, ready to use underwater/ice stereo file
– STEREO (surface) file
You can use mono channels to create your own mix (or use it as mono) or use a stereo-ready to use file (or combination of both).
Using mono recordings/files for multichannel mixing can be very creative for SFX, or maybe in film, for example, to accompany first surface (frame) and then underwater (frame) separated, or half submerged camera (frame).
For mixing stereo (surface) files (microphones) you will need an MS matrix (plugin). This is a very creative tool which allows you to control the amount of stereo field or front to side ratio of the sound captured. If you are not familiar with MS there is a ready to use stereo (surface) file and you can use/mix it with underwater/ice file(s).
(for MS: Sennheiser MKH40 – front microphone/cardioid and Sennheiser MKH40-side microphone/ figure of eight.) Hydrophones are Aquarian audio H2a XLR.

The Sonomar Collection: Pianos sound effects library began with a curious question: What new and unconventional sounds can be made with a piano for use in sound design?
The result is 652 enigmatic sounds exploring the sonic properties of various pianos to create suspense and tension in your audio projects. Created by sound designer and recordist Martin Pinsonnault (Big Little Lies, Dallas Buyers Club) and the Sonomar team, the Pianos library blurs the line between music and sound design – captured at 192kHz using contact mics and an MKH-8040 for endless possibilities in pitching and processing.
Available in three unique collections, this expressive library combines the resonant nature of pianos with experimental approaches to recording, performing, and preparing this classic instrument:
Pianos – Broken contains 63 rusty, grinding, rhythmic growling piano hits for eerie roars and anxiety-inducing resonances. Includes percussive performance by Thomas Brodeur from the Sonomar team.
Pianos – Prepared features 539 textured punches, decays, chords and notes – ripe with complex harmonics, string rattles and vibrations. Created by placing objects on the strings of a piano with performance by Mingan Sauriol.
Pianos – Designed expresses the limitless possibilities of the raw recordings with pitched and processed sounds ready to drag-and-drop directly into your designs.
Each sound file is embedded with rich metadata to help you find the sounds you need with a fast and precise search. Unique descriptions of each recording encompass both literal sonic qualities as well as the images they invoke to enhance your creative workflow. Advanced metadata fields include translated French descriptions and additional info to ensure compatibility across any database search platform such as Soundminer, BaseHead, Netmix, Workspace (Pro Tools), Find Tool (Media Composer), Media Bay (Nuendo), Reaper, Adobe Premiere, and beyond.
Skillfully performed using glasses as instruments, Sonomar Collection: Crystal Sing features 46 clean, high quality recordings of ringing vibrations perfectly suited for your harmonic tonal needs. This unique collection contains sonorous ringing tones at various pitches as well as sharp squeaks and rubs. Use the raw recordings to add hypnotic resonant layers to your projects, or alter them to experience the depth of Crystal Sing’s harmonic range.
To capture these sounds, sound designer and recordist Martin Pinsonnault (Big Little Lies, Dallas Buyers Club) and the Sonomar team used six different types of glasses including Ricard, cognac and champagne flute glasses. The tonal vibrations created by rubbing a wet finger along the rim of the glass were recorded in 192kHz with MKH-8040 microphones in ORTF setup. Each glass produced its own pitch and tone dependent on its size, shape, and the amount of water added. The rich high frequency response and minimal noise make these clean harmonic tones ideal for pitching and processing.
Each sound file is embedded with comprehensive metadata to help you find the exact sound effect you need with fast, pinpoint search. Enable creativity with detailed descriptions of each recording and their specific sonic qualities. Advanced metadata fields include translated French descriptions and additional info to ensure compatibility across any database search platform such as Soundminer, BaseHead, Netmix, Workspace (Pro Tools), Find Tool (Media Composer), Media Bay (Nuendo), Reaper, Adobe Premiere, and beyond.
Sonomar Collection: Crystal Sing is also included in Pro Sound Effects’ CORE: Standard.

There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
