Horror Sandbox is a collection of spooky, gnarly, gritty and screeching sounds. There is a variety of sounds in it, from chromatic instruments you can play as a keyboard to more sound design and underscore type of sounds. All scary!
We carefully sampled one of the most iconic string machines from italian manufacturer Elka. The instrument is quite simple, since it has only two sounds that can be eventually combined to create a third one. And that’s it. But it’s more than enough to make your music iconic!
The recordings were made at 48KHz and 24 bit resolution, so you’re good to go with cinematic projects too.
We sampled each note chromatically, so every single note from the original instrument is there, no pitch shifting. We also sampled the sounds combination, so the third sound it’s sampled as it comes out the original keyboard.
The interface on the original instrument is extremely simple and basic, but all the controls are implemented in “Cellotron 1976”. We added two effects for added flexibility and sonic possibilities, but we tried to keep the simple controls wise, to fit in the spirit of the original instrument.
Cinematic Horror Storeroom – Volume 2 is a collection of spooky, gnarly, gritty and screeching loops. There is a variety of sounds in it, all scary! It’s great for underscore, rhythmic suspense, building tension or to convey fear and anxiety.

There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!

I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
