All the libraries from SSL are recorded by the Audio Team @ Blacktone Studio. A Madrid based sound studio facility where we all work together! During these last years, we have compiled a great amount of High quality AMBISONIC wildtracks. Today, we are launching this collection of Wallas recorded on set for our productions.
Sound editor and designer Barto Alcaine, among with Surround Sound LAB main recordist, Alvaro de Iscar are the main recordists of this Library.
Wallas in Restaurants, Offices, Pubs, Bars, indoor and outdoor…. We have used all these recordings in all of our projects. It’s time to make them fly to your timelines!
All the sounds that this collection is composed of have been obtained and recorded on an ambisonic format. The Walla is in Spanish. Besides, all the recordings include metadata in English and Spanish, and they are compatible with software of sound library management like Soundminer.
Our Auto Repair (248 HQ – 96kHz/24bit) library includes both tools and general ambiences of auto repair shops as well as home garage sounds. Hit play, close your eyes and you will find yourself amidst cars, toolboxes, revving engines, mechanisms, servo sounds, metal clunks, and car mechanics in action.
In this library, you will find audio samples of wrenches and ratchets being dropped on various surfaces and with various intensities, different kinds of metal clunk and mechanical motions, as well as audio of mechanics operating hydraulic machines and servomotors, handling screwdrivers, welding and hammering chassis, handling screwdrivers/ pneumatic pistols and sawing/scraping metal auto parts. All captured in real garages and auto repair shops.
In addition to the sounds mentioned above, we have included a variety of clean, studio recordings of hand tools and metal parts that can be used as starting points for further sound design. We had cars and bikes brought in, which we used to record a series of engine startups/shutdowns, idling, and revs which might serve as starters for creating multilayered, compelling atmospheres.

'Chaosmos – Sounds From Istanbul' is a sound effects library created by Furkan Utku Gerçik, who's lived in Istanbul for the past 22 years. The main focus of the library is to create a bundle that helps creatives who need sounds from Turkey.
The library doesn’t focus on common or popular sound sources such as Muezzin, Ezan or Taksim Square etc.
Instead, it focuses on more naturalistic sounds of daily life such as transportation, places that most people pass, bazaars, islands and much more. The recordings are are 99 percent raw.
Compared to other libraries 'Chaosmos – Sounds From Istanbul' offers a naturalistic, everyday perspective and focuses on alternative sounds. It also covers the common sounds of Istanbul.
Need some sounds of water on rocks? This bite sized library could be just what you need. Close stereo recordings of waves a crashing against both rocks and beaches.
This library was recorded in southern France and Komagane, Japan for a diverse collection of cricket, grasshopper and frog sounds. With a Fostex FR2, Sennheiser 418S and Olympus LS11, these focused sounds were captured without the rumbling of nearby traffic or wind. They are clean enough to be dropped right into your project, and they are long enough to offer loop points for interactive use.

‘Water Streams One’ is the first library in my ‘Water Streams’ series that explores the bubbly and roaring sounds of rapids, rivers and streams found all around Finland.
The library consists of 19 unique sounding locations ranging from large rapids to tiny streams. Most of the content was recorded in quiet Northern Finland locations and I even visited the Oulanka National Park to record its famous large roaring rapids.
Due to challenging and hard to access locations I decided to record the library with portable Sony handheld recorders utilizing ORTF and XY techniques.
The average length of each file is between 2-4 minutes so you can easily create your own loops for video games and other media.
You get the sounds in two formats: 96 KHz 24 bit and in 44.1 KHz 16 bit, for more convenient ways of utilizing the sounds in games and other media.
The Metal Scrap library was recorded at a scrapyard where they do nothing but shredding, cutting, breaking and moving metal of all sorts, all day long.
• Large metallic objects and metal debris being drooped by huge cranes, into and onto various surfaces.
• The end of the Conveyer belt, where the smaller pieces of metal junk fall onto a bigger pile af junk.
• Lots of metallic destruction and impacts, huge and small.

Whistling, fluttering and buffeting wind recorded indoors
Interior wind is a collection of pitched tonal howls, steady breezes and dynamic powerful gusts in stereo and surround. It’s full of whistling, fluttering and buffeting wind recorded indoors. It has more than 3 hours of indoor wind ambiences from houses, apartments, cabins, halls and a car. All files are thoroughly and carefully tagged with metadata and have UCS-compliant file naming.
Characterful wind without man-made sound or birds
It’s a collection of wind from an inside perspective made with years of patience waiting for the right storms to come along while finding different locations with their own character.
Pure singing wind and creaking houses
Mostly recorded at night during the cold winter, the sounds are isolated wind through cracks, crevices, wind shafts and slightly open doors or windows. Some with the structure creaking and moving, others just howling tones. Others are the powerful sound of wind pushing against the wall or roof, adding pressure and buffeting.
Great variety and many locations
One of the locations we went to was in a house placed under a 120 meter (394 feet) tall power line. The power lines would resonate with a very low and ominous howl while the pylon would emit a specific note when the wind came from the right direction. Another recording session was done in a small wooden cabin in rural Denmark with all walls moving, creaking and making cracking sounds. Others were recorded in apartments or more traditional houses in rooms and attics.
Getting control of the wind
I looked at the wind direction and open windows and doors on the other side of the house to stimulate air flow and record through the tiny cracks. This way I got some control and could play with the tones and force of the wind.
Recording techniques
The surround files were recorded with an IRT Cross in surround while the stereo files range from XY to ORTF depending on the source.
Everything was recorded with MKH50 microphones on a Sound Devices 744T.
Close, Medium and Distant recordings
The collection has variation in distance to capture both the creaks and movement in the room while others are recorded in closer proximity to isolate a detailed howl or whistle.
UCS naming and metadata
I gave careful consideration to the file naming and metadata of the collection, keeping filenames short and concise while providing extra information in the metadata to help narrow search criteria.
• Quad IRT Cross and Stereo ORTF
• 96 kHz / 24 Bit
• 42 files with an average length of 4,5 minutes
• More than 3 hours of material
• Detailed metadata and file naming

There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
