Atmospheric drones and ambiences – light and dark, beautiful and eerie, lively and serene
The “Abstract Ambiences” is a collaboration of SoundBits and Monte Sound.
This bundle offers you a collection of abstract and surreal ambiences, ready to be used in your next production. Wether in surround or stereo, this kit will be sure to please. The bundle offers a full mix, as well as a construction kit to mix and match the stems as you wish, giving you maximum flexibility in post production.
All sounds are delivered in 96kHz / 24bit. All sounds are royalty free.
Think of movies like “Alien”, “Event Horizon” “or games like “Dead Space”, “Doom” or “Bioshock”. But you will also get the right feel and idea for other disturbing-cyberpunk and unsettling industrial dark spaces.
A symbiosis of organic original field-recordings like Room Tones, Construction Sites, Traffic, Fun-Fair, Motors, … and synthetic elements like spectral- and granular synthesis.
Spooky, scary sounds – in ambisonics format. Hollow winds, strange metal resonances, all those sounds are natural and not coming from any kind of sound generator – you will be able to spread them all around the room and make them move as you like. If you plan to do a horror film, this is a must have.
Looking for vinyl noises, crackles, pops and buzzes? PHONO is a set of textures lovingly recorded from the blank spots of old and new vinyl records.
Comprised of various loops pops and decays, this collection spans the range of what a needle on an empty track can sound like.
108 flavors of rhythmic noise, crackles, hiss, pops, buzzes, bumps and air – packaged, looped, and ready to go. Great straight or with fx.
“Infinite” specializes in dark drones, wide ambiances and thrilling textures that play with great depth and large stage.
Each of the 160 included samples was carefully handcrafted by treating various sources with a complex chain of hardware FX units. The resulting sounds can be used out of the box whenever it comes to the creation of impressive background layers or establishing otherworldly movie scenes.
The library contains two folders: North and South.
The sounds in the North folder still have trace elements of harmonic structures while the South folder provides textures without decent pitch.
All contained sounds have looppoints embedded so that they can play infinitely in the true sense of the word.
This is achieved best with the two additional Kontakt 4 instruments that have all sounds layered across the keyboard.
Nevertheless, the delivered WAV files can be loaded into any modern software sample with loop support.
‘Immersive Motion Vol.1’ features 50 atmospheric sound effects that are designed to add energy and detail to your soundtrack.
Ideal for backgrounds and atmospheres as they flow and swell in an organic nature.
The library is over 250 minutes in duration.
Please note that my sound libraries do not go on sale (this is so prices are fair all year round), and they are sold exclusively on asoundeffect. :-)
This library is a bit different from the rest. Dx (“Diagnostic”) is a grouping of different audiometric and audiological elements in a neat, diversified package. Our goal was to aggregate audio tests from multiple disciplines and build them into a one-stop-shop collection that most sound designers, engineers, researchers, and artists could utilize as a mainstay in their audio toolbox.
In this collection you will find sets of: binaural beats, audiometric sweeps, full frequency sweeps, multi-spectrum noise, spatializations, resonance tones, impulses, dynamics tests, intermodulated distortion tests, aliasing tests, phase tests, and a few fun examples just for kicks.
These diagnostic sounds are provided in 96kHz/24-bit, 48kHz/24-bit, and 44.1kHz/16-bit resolutions. There are various length and loudness combinations as well, so you don’t have to edit these files to use them for their intended tests. That being said, this diagnostic audio can also be used very quick and precise ways in layered SFX designs. Because they are so specific in their development, they can be used with an automatic mathematic disregard…and that, is a good thing.
Quick, clean, and precise. Enjoy.
Bells & Bowls – a collection of 86 files/100MB glass & ceramic bell sound effects in 24bit/96kHz mono – all UCS-compliant.
I give you 14 different bell-like objects, each multi-sampled for maximum expressiveness, tuned to the nearest musical note and ready to drop into your favorite sampler and play away. Ranging from only slightly complex sine waves, to strange wobbles and beat frequencies, these actual physical bowls, plates and vases had some pretty amazing musical sounds in them. Many of them took surprisingly little pitch-alterations to reach a musical note – almost as if some glassware factory wanted them to be struck with mallets and recorded!
You get:
Cinematic Big hits, Risers, Whooshes, Textures and more! Inspire your audio production with the sounds of Hollywood box office hits! Blockbuster Trailer sound effects library is one of our most exciting game and movie trailer sound libraries yet.
With over 500+ audio assets thoughtful designed, you’ll have no problem creating that silver screen sound your audience knows and loves.
Get the sounds of gas and water running through massive and tiny pipes, at three processing sites closed to the public.
This library delivers the sounds of a gas control station, a sewage plant and a waterworks. We recorded the hissing of gas, low drones of water rushing through massive pipes, and the sounds of various stages of sewage processing, recorded indoors and outdoors in multiple locations and rooms throughout the three facilities. The library includes close-up sound effects, indoor and outdoor ambiences, and features ambiences and stereo contact mic recordings of active gas and water pipes, capturing the various resonating pipes in isolation.
Total play time of all recordings is just under 2 hours.
Dreamscapes is a collection of versatile, carefully crafted drones and textures, that would take you away into the deep unknown realms. The pack includes all kinds of moods: from low-rumbling environmental ambiences and spacey drones, to the divine and transparent textures. All sounds are seamless loops, thus will fit perfectly in any project including games, with no additional tailoring required.
Motion Texures is a broad library with a narrow purpose: to draw sonic lines and create gently moving sonic textures.
The concept is that consistent sound of friction will translate well to visual design elements that have CG and text movement on screen.
We recorded the friction sounds of dozens of small to medium sized props in constant motion. Major categories include metal, plastic, cloth, wood and skin. Some of the most interesting sounds came from the props that had small cavities such as the spray can lid and the water bottle. The constant changing of the cavity state relative to the mics creates strange vocal sounds.
Once the sounds were recorded we employed a proprietary smoothing process as a second pass to the sounds and provided them in addition to the original textures. These smoothed out sounds still have the organic quality of the original recordings, but with far fewer transient events. The end result are sounds that feel straighter than the more circular sounding original textures.
Inside of the Kontakt instruments we stacked layers and effects to create a broad base of deep and interesting textures. Many of the Kontakt presets mangle the sounds far beyond recognition of the original recordings.
Tension is a collection of atmospheres, drones, musical sound design, darkness, noise, and distortion for creating moments of anxiety, ominous soundscapes, or musical foreboding highlights. Created by Charles Maynes (sound designer) and Jason Payne (musical composer) Tension creates a balance where both sound design and musical undertones collide. Tension gets you 430+ sounds and 7.5GB of 24bit/96khz files, all meticulously embedded with Soundminer & Basehead metadata.
A collection of versatile, carefully crafted, seamless looping drones and textures, that would take you away into the unknown realms. The pack includes all kinds of moods: from low-rumbling environmental ambiences and spacey drones, to the divine and transparent textures.

A massive electro-acoustic drone SFX library reft from a custom designed and hand-built instrument! These drones were coaxed from a unique instrument using the power of air. No harsh picking or plucking, just assorted techniques for moving air deftly across the strings.
The guitar, Yvaine, was recorded simultaneously via two tracks (one direct and another amped and mic’d) and was set to 23 different tunings to encompass the full spectrum of her voice, character, and soul. The tunings are as follows:
All5ths | B6th | Capo12th | CassianoPereiraViana | CrossnoteF | Cuba | DADGAD | DropB | Hawaiian | Koto | OpenA | OpenC | OpenD | OpenE | OpenF | OpenG | OpenPage | Orkney | Ostrich | Pentatonic | “Spira” | Standard | TheEdge
The files range from uber clean and harmonic to gritty, crackling, and distorted. For some of the overdriven amped recordings, we even experimented with creative NR settings for the modulation of artificial harmonics…and kept some of the more colorful results! Between the two different tracks, multiple takes were made per strength, per position, per recording. Depending on which takes were best, some of the DI and amped captures matched, while others were physically different. This offers unique layering capabilities for some sets while allowing for variety in others. Some of the sets are missing particular strength recordings at specific positions. But if a capture wasn’t appropriate, we didn’t include it.
This is a bountiful collection of droning goodness. Use it for good.
Drones and Tones gets you recordings of a brass Tibetan singing bowl – massively processed with granular synthesis for some haunting, otherworldly soundscapes.
Bane Cinematics is a powerful collection of cinematic sound effects, perfect for games, trailers and other projects where you want to make a monumental impact. Bane Cinematics gets you more than 470 sound effects such as cinematic impacts, risers, thuds, strikes, flybys, whooshes, drones, hums, power shots and hits. + Includes embedded Soundminer meta data.
The Floppy Drives sound effects library features recordings of seven computer disk drives: two 3.5″ floppy drives, one 5.25″ floppy drive, three Zip drives, and one SuperDisk drive.
All drives were taken apart to access and manipulate the stepper/eject motors to create unique sounds. These range from electronic percussive bleeps and glitchy noises, to electromechanical motor movements.
An Arduino UNO microcontroller board was connected to one of the 3.5″ floppy drives, allowing precise control of the drive’s stepper motor via custom software code. A midi keyboard was interfaced to the system, giving the ability to control the back-and-forth movement of the read/write heads via notes on the keyboard. This essentially turned the drive into an instrument, producing a new set of sounds not existing in the drive’s normal functions.
Get the sounds of the classic 1970’s era Roland Space Echo RE-201 – captured in high resolution audio.
75 samples are included in this library, featuring a wide range of sounds emitted from a mint condition RE-201. The samples are collected from the space echo self oscillation, as well the triggered delay from various sound sources. Use these samples for the classic Space Echo sound or chop up and manipulate them for new sound creation/design.

SciFi Drones is a composite collection of very disturbing and scary futuristic spaceship ambiences, Sci-Fi Drones and organic, surreal alien-atmospheres.
Each drone is 2 minutes long, with very versatile variations in each file. And whether it comes to futuristic horror settings, abandoned sci-fi corridors, large spaceship halls, haunted basements or open space in an alien galaxy, this will set the right tone.
Fantastic for any sci-fi project – and will also set the tone equally well for other disturbing cyberpunk projects and scary industrial spaces.
This library is a hybrid-production; A symbiosis of organic original field-recordings like Room Tones, Construction Sites, Traffic, Zoo-Animals, Motors and synthetic elements. Lot’s of spectral and granular synthesis. And lots of sound designing, of course.
In this Kit all “Dark SciFi Drones” were carefully split in logical frequency Layers. So you have better control and you can do your own mix of these elements.
Also you can combine and mix the different layers across the ambiences by drag&drop to create nearly endless variations. Or easily do creative up-mixes to surround.
The duration of each Drone is 1:00 minute with very versatile variations in each file.
Use the layers in “Playlists” (Pro Tools) or “Track Versions” (Nuendo) for best flexibility and easy access.
Each layer of the same Drone is named after the Drone plus a letter for the layer. Starting at “A” (low frequency)…
Each Drone is separated in 2-5 layers.

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.

A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!

We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!

A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!

I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!

A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
