The Boring Doors Library Vol. 1 is a collection of everyday door sounds, recorded and edited with an unusually high level of precision and care. Over the course of two years, we’ve captured a wide variety of opens, closes, creaks, and mechanical movements of classic doors, using top-tier equipment in highly controlled environments.
As a post-production studio, we record doors all the time — because no matter how boring they seem, you can never have enough. That’s the spirit behind this collection: essential, consistent, and endlessly useful in real-world post workflows.
Each sound has been recorded with minimal background noise and treated using the best noise reduction tools available, always preserving the natural character of the source. All files include multiple variations and come in two versions in the stereo file:
– A lightly mastered version, ready to drop into your timeline.
– A raw, unprocessed version, with no EQ or dynamic treatment.
On top of that, the library features meticulous metadata, structured to the highest standards of sound effects organization. It fully adheres to the UCS system, but goes further — incorporating custom subcategories within UCS for even clearer, more intuitive search and categorization.
Clean, reliable, and designed by professionals who use this material every day — The Boring Doors Library Vol. 1 is the definitive toolbox for any sound editor working with doors.
We recorded around 80 beautiful tracks, 96Khz and 24 bits HD. As always, top quality recordings specially designed for film audio projects.

Little Boxes is a curated collection of four unique sound sets designed to compliment one another sonically and texturally. These textures move from acoustic to electroacoustic to analog synthesis – all programmed into beautiful Kontakt 4 instruments (full NI Kontakt
4.2.3 or later required).
A small device meant to be hung flat on the wall, the balls will swing and strike the strings if the ground begins to move.
This box was shaken, plucked, strummed, performed and ebowed to produce a beautiful palette of acoustic string textures.
In Kontakt those sounds evolved into a group of instruments that ran from folksy, zither like patches to lush, shimmering pads.
The Porsche 911 GT3 is not a typical race car.
With engine, transmission, air intake and exhaust all situated in the rear of the vehicle under a large wing, this pure driving machine has sonic characteristics very different from many familiar racing vehicles. Its exhaust note is deep and throaty and the transmission is snappy at speed.
The Porsche 911 GT3 library is a series of recordings that were made on a track just outside of Houston on media day for the Effort race team. These are 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 Rs that race on the Pirelli World Challenge series. Each car has a naturally aspirated, water cooled, four valve 4.0 liter flat six cylinder Porsche engine. These cars create 500 horse power from the factory and race with E10 fuel. The transmission is a Porsche six gear racing box with sequential shift mechanism.
With full access to the vehicles and the track, we recorded up to 13 channels on every movement.
• Onboards including Sanken CUB01, Crown PZM and Sanken COS11 mics
• Interiors captured with a Sure VP-88
• An ORTF array of Line Audio CM3s at pit row
• An array of MKH60s and a Shoeps MS rig at another straightaway on a balcony
• An ORTF array of Line Audio CM3s at a long slow turn
• A roving handheld MKH70 rig
After a full day of recording we had material ranging from idles and slow starts to whip bys and burnouts. We also got a wide variety of foley and ambient recordings that happened organically throughout the day.
Remington Rand is an early American typewriter and adding machine manufacturer formed in 1927. The last Remington Rand branded business machine rolled off the line in 1958. The adding machine that we acquired was an electric version in good working condition. Remington Rand also manufactured things like shavers, pistols and calculators.
Our adding machine has a big electronic mechanism for the summing function and nice heavy clacks for the regular keys. It also had some very sticky metal plates that would occasionally get stuck and then pop loose with a big resonant ringing sound. This specific defect made an incredibly interesting sound that is very unique to this specific machine’s wear and tear.
As with the Burroughs Protectograph we miked it with three different mono perspectives to produce three very different sounds on each move. We used Schoeps CMC6/MK4 mics on the front and back and an AT4050 for the wide perspective in mono. The close perspectives are great for big thick clicks and mechanisms, and the wide is excellent for use in one offs for bgfx tracks.
Shiba dog is a collection of dog sounds recorded in our studio. We brought two Shibas to the studio and let them play with each other. One of them is a very vocal dog and the other one is very quiet. This allowed us to capture a wide variety of sounds, from barking to panting, without a lot of overlapping.
We recorded everything with four microphones to get the most out of this session. We included all the good takes in this collection, so each sound is covered with at least three microphones. The following microphones were used:
• Line Audio CM3 small diaphragm condenser (cardioid)
• Line Audio OM1 small diaphragm condenser (omni)
• Rode NT2000 large diaphragm condenser (cardioid)
• Rode NTG3 shotgun
A big thank you goes out to Jory Prum for helping out with planning and recording!
No animals were harmed or mistreated during the recording of this collection.

Recordings from the German capital. A collection of files containing a wide view of Berlin ambiences: Parks, streets, undergrounds, city ambiences… 50 files of interior and exterior files recorded in the Summer of 2013.
I took out a MZ TS150 2 stroke Motorcycle and recorded approaches, departures, pass bys, circling in a grass parking lot, engine revs, idoling, etc.
I recorded this library with 2x dpa 4060s, 2x ME2, an sm57, sennheiser 416 and a pair of cm3s recorded in an xy pattern. I set up the cm3s on a mic stand, and followed the action with the 416, with 5 onboard microphones capturing sounds on the bike as well.
In the 179 files, there are 8 syncable takes of pass by's at different rpms with the onboards and 2 different exterior perspectives. Everything has been labeled in Soundly with metadata.
You will find what you need to cover any small 2 stroke engine motorcycle in here. With purchase, I offer you to email me at [email protected] and I will send you the protools session that has the sync'd files and original audio if you would like even more coverage of individual microphones (if that is something you are into). Feel free to email me with any inquiries before purchase.

This idea was created with efficiency and budget in mind. On independent films we don't always have the luxury of budgeting out an extensive amount of foley. There are tons of resources for cutting cloth, props, and footsteps, but there are none for actions of the human body in every day situations. In this comprehensive library you will find touches, pats, scratches, slides, clasps, slaps, and so many other common actions involving skin that will help bring realism to your projects.
This is a unique bicycle library that captures road surfaces from the perspective of super quiet bicycle. These are clean, quiet, nicely performed true exterior rides. Including multiple perspectives, speeds and actions. From fast passbys on asphalt to slow onboard recordings and smooth stops.
The Extra Surfaces library provides 162 sounds captured on the following road types Large Bricks, Gravel, Grit, Icy Asphalt.
The four additional ‘onboard road’ surfaces are the perfect extension for your other ‘City Bicycle’ library of taste. Just add it as a layer, mix it and voila your bicycle can move from gravel to bricks to grit or from large bricks to slippery icy asphalt roads.
Speeds and actions:
Three speeds. Departures from slow, medium to fast getaways. Arrivals from slow stops with gently brakes to smooth departures.
Overview of perspectives and mic placement:
Onboard recordings are 2-3 minutes long depending on speed. Higher speeds > shorter duration.
All 3 onboard mics are edited in sync with one another to make layering easy.
All Passbys, Arrivals and Departures move from Left to Right.
Metadata & Markers:
Because we know how important metadata is for your sound libraries we have created a consistent and intuitive description method that adheres to the Universal Category System. This allows you to find the sound you need easily, whether you work in a database like Soundminer/Basehead/PT Workspace work, or a Exporer/Finder window. We made a video that helps you navigate the library ans find your best bicycle sounds faster and easier.
CategoryFull
A quick way to filter out sounds you don’t need: like handling sounds or vice versa bicycle onboards.
UserCategory
Fastest way to find the type of action you need for all bicycles. Passby needed, just click and voila.
OpenTier
Once you’ve selected the bike you can open up OpenTier and audition and select the perspective you want to use.
Scene & Performer
This field contains the type of bicycle or other sound. So you can find the bike you like fast.
iXMLTrackLayout
This is a neat little identifier you will find in the Waveform displays and you can see in a glance what Listening position you are.
MicPerspective
We have another way to find perspectives but it is more limited to distance to the recorded subject.
So passbys are MED – EXT and handling are CU – EXT. Exterior? Of course: we recorded everything outside!
UserComments
We used this field to create the UserData and give you the minimal set of information about the recording in the filename.
Additionally, we added Markers to some wave files, so specific sound events are easy to spot in Soundminer and other apps.
If you have any questions about this, please contact us [email protected]!

SMOOTH is a collection of 140 24-bit/48khz wave sound effects.
I’ts delicate, soft, deep, eerie, cinematic. Its sounds are crafted for slow motion shots, abstract film sequences, motion design shots and mysterious, not aggressive, evocative and ethereal projects.
All sounds are organized into 8 categories:
They are total wet and 100% reverbered, designed with a “light touch”, definitely the opposite of big distorted and punchy sounds.
Curated from an extensive vehicle workup of a 2001 Saleen Mustang from The Odyssey Collection by Academy Award®-winners Mark Mangini & Richard L. Anderson, this library includes a wide variety of powerful car recordings from different angles, distances, speeds, and perspectives.
What is a workup? A workup is a thorough series of recordings of the same subject from many different perspectives. Having these options at your fingertips helps to quickly and intuitively cut sound effects for a scene without needing to reuse or process sounds to make them fit the picture.
Streamline your sound editing workflow with expertly recorded car sound effects from the 2001 Saleen Mustang including ignition, engine revving, idling, driving sequences in forward and reverse on various terrains, pass bys, tire skids, door and trunk open and close, horn honks, engine rumbles, and more.
This workup also includes a selection of multi-mono recordings, which offers the choice of different mic positions from the same recording. And each sound is embedded with rich, descriptive metadata for lightning-fast, pinpoint search results.
Vehicle Workup: 2001 Saleen Mustang is also included in Pro Sound Effects’ CORE: Standard.
One of our more important library was the original SSL23 Far City Ambiences. It was a step forward in the way we record our libraries. With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
