BRING YOUR ANIME TO LIFE
Infusing synthesized tones with distorted effects and tonal sweeps, the sounds in ANIME ESSENTIALS resonate with the surrealism and over-the-top dynamism found in modern-day masterpieces like One Piece, Full Metal Alchemist, or Cowboy Bebop. Be it thunderous impacts and explosions or mesmerizing shimmers, each intricately crafted sound holds the power to pump up any anime-style artistic pursuit.
There was a massive storm going on outside and we could hear the wind from the chimney so we popped our field recording kit up and extended the microphones to as far as they would go up the chimney and pressed record. We managed to capture the low end and rumbles of the wind interacting with the chimney.
We then tried adding some reverb on to the samples to give space and context which wasn’t exactly part of the plan for this sample pack but we thought it added something so decided to add these samples to the sample pack for no extra cost.
Chimney Wind will give you enough audio to give your project the authentic sound of wind from a chimney stack, boosting your project to the next level. Chimney Wind has been edited to allow a drop in ready and Royalty Free sample pack. These Samples can be used in a variety of projects from Sound Designing/Compositions for TV, Film, Documentaries and Video Games. UCS Compliant and Metadata is attached to the samples
This library is recorded in a small furniture workshop where office furniture is sawn and created. We recorded the sounds of the factory so that they can be easily combined together to create a workshop of any scale.
Microphones were placed at varying distances from the recording subjects. Many recordings were created using a LOM Geofon contact microphone.

“Rain & Thunder Residential Balcony” (RTRB in short) includes 21 stereo files (WAV, 96 kHz, 24 bit) of total length: 1h 48m 58s. All files were carefully edited and discribed with UCS metadata.
Recorded with Zoom H6 with internal mid-side capsule during few stormy days of June 2020 in the beginning of covid pandemic (hence there’s almost no traffic background!).
The idea was to place the mic on the balcony in the residential, suburban area of Warsaw, Poland, in the best, exact same spot each time, so the recordings can be edited seamlessly together. Library contains rain in every phase from begining, through light, medium and heavy to the ending and afterwards. That gives the editor the opportunity to navigate with rain intensity throughout the scene and even create the storm from pieces.
Different storm stages can work really well also for the computer game implementation.
There are lots of distant thunder rumbles but also few really close, sharp and scary thunder strikes.
RTRB is 21 stereo files, 96/24. 3,5 GB big, all UCS ready!

Periodical Cicadas features the sounds of millions of periodical cicadas singing en masse. This library has extended drones and screeches, up-close wing-fluttering pass-byes, multiple pharaoh (mating) calls and distant cicadas singing from the treetops. With my latest recordings in May 2025, three broods are now featured: Brood XXII was recorded in south Louisiana in 2014, Brood V was recorded in Ohio in 2016 and Brood XIV was recorded in the hollows of West Virginia in 2025.
Periodical cicada choruses can differ in sound from species to species. Throw in variables like wind conditions and where exactly a species sings from, and you have a range of distinct sounds, bordering on the creepy at times, to include in your next insect-ridden project.
All files are recorded 32bit, 192 kHz, with Shure KSM 137, Line Audio Omni1 and FEL Clippy XLR EM272 microphones, Sound Devices MixPre-6 II recorder. Library contains wav files of driving, foley, mechanical and electrical sounds. It is also available in UCS.
Evocative Sound and Visuals is pleased to announce the release of Electromagnetic Fields. This library contains 163 meticulously crafted and mastered sounds from 68 devices and structures captured in high-quality stereo with a Sony PCM D100 recorder and two small induction coil microphones. Included are hums, drones, beeps, bleeps, buzzes, glitches, pulses, static and more strange sounds I cannot describe.
With few exceptions, we mere mortals can’t hear the electromagnetic fields (EMF) surrounding us. If we could, we’d go crazy, especially in our ever-expanding electronic environment. We can tune our ears into this other sonic world using induction coil microphones. I never knew quite what to expect when placing mics on an object. Having two microphones with fairly long cables allowed me to find the most sonically interesting parts of an object to focus on. Two mics spaced apart also allow for a nice stereo spread.
Have fun experimenting with and inserting these hi-tech sounds (some captured in 96kHz/24-bit and others in 192kHz/24-bit) into your next science fiction and otherworldly creations. Please don’t take the device’s sound literally. That SLR’s motor drive may just be your next rapid-fire laser cannon.
Discover one of the biggest collections of bells ever recorded with nearly 6 hours of sound.
Beautiful Bells BUNDLE contains the solo ringing of 76 swinging bells and 135 stationary bells, captured in 62 bell towers, carillons, chapels, churches, cathedrals, basilicas and clock towers across France, with unprecedented quality. Most of the sounds were recorded inside bell towers.
Swinging bells are struck by a hanging clapper. They have a natural pitch modulation due to the Doppler effect, and a timbre modulation due to varying orientation. They produce a deep and lively sound and are mostly used to announce masses, religious holidays, weddings and funerals.
Stationary bells are struck by external hammers. They have a steady and rich tone, with a long sustain. They are mostly used as musical instruments in carillons, to indicate the hour in clock chimes or to alert the population in tocsins.
Every bell size and pitch is represented in this library, from huge 10 ton bourdon to tiny carillon bells weighing a few kilograms. You will find bells founded from 14th to 21st century with a great variety of timbres and tunings, over a range of more than 5 octaves. The sounds are sorted by note from D2 to G7.
The library contains 2 carillons with 54 bells and 10 bells, available as sound files and virtual instruments (NI Kontakt and EXS24 with round robin).
You will also get 15 peals of multiple bells, called plenum.
By sorting the solo sounds by location, you can recreate authentic bell combinations. You also have the freedom to create any custom combination or use the sounds as instruments in musical scores.
All the sounds in this library were recorded in bell towers or as close as possible to provide great sonic precision and optimal signal-to-noise ratio.
Over 12,000 kilometers were traveled during six months to get you one of the most exhaustive swinging bell collection ever recorded.

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.

A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!

We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!

A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!

I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!

A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
