  • Periodical Cicadas features the sounds of millions of periodical cicadas singing en masse. This library has extended drones and screeches, up-close wing-fluttering pass-byes, multiple pharaoh (mating) calls and distant cicadas singing from the treetops. With my latest recordings in May 2025, three broods are now featured: Brood XXII was recorded in south Louisiana in 2014, Brood V was recorded in Ohio in 2016 and Brood XIV was recorded in the hollows of West Virginia in 2025.

Periodical cicada choruses can differ in sound from species to species. Throw in variables like wind conditions and where exactly a species sings from, and you have a range of distinct sounds, bordering on the creepy at times, to include in your next insect-ridden project.

  • All files are recorded 32bit, 192 kHz, with Shure KSM 137, Line Audio Omni1 and FEL Clippy XLR EM272 microphones, Sound Devices MixPre-6 II recorder. Library contains wav files of driving, foley, mechanical and electrical sounds. It is also available in UCS.

  • Drones & Mood Sound Effects Electromagnetic Fields Play Track 163+ sounds included, 135 mins total $35

Evocative Sound and Visuals is pleased to announce the release of Electromagnetic Fields. This library contains 163 meticulously crafted and mastered sounds from 68 devices and structures captured in high-quality stereo with a Sony PCM D100 recorder and two small induction coil microphones. Included are hums, drones, beeps, bleeps, buzzes, glitches, pulses, static and more strange sounds I cannot describe.

With few exceptions, we mere mortals can’t hear the electromagnetic fields (EMF) surrounding us. If we could, we’d go crazy, especially in our ever-expanding electronic environment. We can tune our ears into this other sonic world using induction coil microphones. I never knew quite what to expect when placing mics on an object. Having two microphones with fairly long cables allowed me to find the most sonically interesting parts of an object to focus on. Two mics spaced apart also allow for a nice stereo spread.

Have fun experimenting with and inserting these hi-tech sounds (some captured in 96kHz/24-bit and others in 192kHz/24-bit) into your next science fiction and otherworldly creations. Please don’t take the device’s sound literally. That SLR’s motor drive may just be your next rapid-fire laser cannon.

  • Bundles Beautiful Bells Bundle Play Track 2000+ sounds included, 358 mins total $200

Discover one of the biggest collections of bells ever recorded with nearly 6 hours of sound.

Beautiful Bells BUNDLE contains the solo ringing of 76 swinging bells and 135 stationary bells, captured in 62 bell towers, carillons, chapels, churches, cathedrals, basilicas and clock towers across France, with unprecedented quality. Most of the sounds were recorded inside bell towers.

Swinging bells are struck by a hanging clapper. They have a natural pitch modulation due to the Doppler effect, and a timbre modulation due to varying orientation. They produce a deep and lively sound and are mostly used to announce masses, religious holidays, weddings and funerals.

Stationary bells are struck by external hammers. They have a steady and rich tone, with a long sustain. They are mostly used as musical instruments in carillons, to indicate the hour in clock chimes or to alert the population in tocsins.

Every bell size and pitch is represented in this library, from huge 10 ton bourdon to tiny carillon bells weighing a few kilograms. You will find bells founded from 14th to 21st century with a great variety of timbres and tunings, over a range of more than 5 octaves. The sounds are sorted by note from D2 to G7.

The library contains 2 carillons with 54 bells and 10 bells, available as sound files and virtual instruments (NI Kontakt and EXS24 with round robin).

You will also get 15 peals of multiple bells, called plenum.

By sorting the solo sounds by location, you can recreate authentic bell combinations. You also have the freedom to create any custom combination or use the sounds as instruments in musical scores.

All the sounds in this library were recorded in bell towers or as close as possible to provide great sonic precision and optimal signal-to-noise ratio.

Over 12,000 kilometers were traveled during six months to get you one of the most exhaustive swinging bell collection ever recorded.

Shipscape is a sonic exploration of a World War II Victory Ship, an ammunition freighter that later saw use as a commercial freighter and was ultimately restored to serve as a floating museum and event space. It’s perfect for building space station, starship, industrial, naval, submarine, and factory environments.

The SS Red Oak Victory, built in 1944 in, and now returned to, Richmond, California, is a vast steel space with great room tones and objects. Its blast-proof bulkheads and double hull transmit and reflect sound in wild ways. No one has ever recorded in this location until now.

While there are some prop and object recordings, this library’s core focus is long ambience recordings (5 – 13 minutes in length). This UCS-compliant library was recorded with a combination of a Sennheiser and Schoeps microphones, and contains both stereo and quad recordings.

Nearly an hour and a half of recordings cover its four-story engine room, long and narrow shaft alley, massive cargo holds, and bridge. Some recordings are subtle room tones, while others feature distant, ominous booms and clanks transmitted through its cargo bays, hull, and bulkheads.

Explore this fascinating environment with Shipscape, a library released in celebration of the SS Red Oak Victory’s 80th birthday.

  • A TRULY SPECIAL PIANO

CHROMA – UPRIGHT PIANO stands out, not just because of its rich history and impeccable restoration, but because of its unique character and emotional depth that set it apart.

The journey began a few years ago in a small studio, where our team initially focused on recording a grand piano. However, an unassuming upright piano in the same studio captured our attention. Though we were committed to recording the grand, the upright’s distinct sound and emotional resonance left a lasting impression. We just had to record it and share it with the world!

The CHROMA – UPRIGHT PIANO isn’t just another virtual instrument; it’s a culmination of passion, serendipity, and meticulous craftsmanship.

Warm, mid-focused tonal character with rich low-end
Multiple unique articulations including felt, muted, plucked, flageolet, and bowed
Recorded with a diverse array of microphones for a comprehensive sound
Unique core engine that both recreates the piano’s original sonority and also creates new and abstract soundscapes
27 velocity layers for nuanced and dynamic playability

  • This library offers a collection of recordings from Iceland during the winter season. The landscape is cold and blanketed in snow. You can hear the biting icy wind, the pervasive chill, and, occasionally, the calls of a few birds and a solitary raven. These recordings capture the serene, remote and stark beauty of Icelandic winter ambiances.

All recordings are clear and entirely devoid of external noise and human disruptions. This is why this library is particularly valuable for productions set in the past, such as medieval and ancient times as well as for historical and nature documentaries.

All these nature ambiences are recorded using two microphone setups: a Double MS Stereo setup and a spaced omnis setup, the latter also providing extended frequency response. This results in four variations for each recording: Stereo, Wide Stereo, Wide AB Stereo, and 5-channel 5.0 surround. The variances between these options range from subtle to more pronounced, offering flexibility for crosscutting within scenes.

Get more than 3 hours of unique, royalty-free and notably high quality recordings with this library. Recorded in 24 bit / 96 kHz. Accurately edited and mastered to sound as natural as possible. With an average duration ranging from 2 to 7 1/2 minutes per file, there’s ample time to integrate them seamlessly into longer scenes without the need for looping. For more detailed descriptions of the ambiences within this collection, please refer to the metadata provided in our file lists or listen to the preview montage.

This library is UCS compliant (universalcategorysystem.com). In this new category system, all files contain extensive metadata like file description, Category & Subcategory. Metadata can be read and processed by the most common audio libraries management tools.

All recordings have been carefully edited to remove external noises, such as other birds, wind or people. Furthermore, thanks to the ultrasonic microphones used, it is guaranteed that whoever decides to lower the tone will continue to obtain frequency richness.
