Tank T-44: The great hulking mass that would spell doom for the Red Army’s enemies has been captured in all its glory trudging along, with every turn of its metal treads and gears recorded masterfully.
The sound capture equipment used were best-in-breed Neumann U 87 and Schoeps M4 microphones, and the tank’s authoritative rumbles and clangs were recorded from various positions, and at various speeds as the treads grip the ground and transfer the power of its mighty engine, transmission, and parts. There are also stereo recordings for the tank’s engine and the tank’s exhaust pipe.
We at Flysound have dusted off the cobwebs and taken this 30 tonne beast for several victory laps to record its belligerent brilliance. The T-44: one of the great patriotic tanks! In a time when action productions are all to often devolving into the fake and unrealistic, this sound package is an authentic antidote of epic proportions.
A lite and mixed version of this suite is also included, comprising 15 authentic stereo files, designed, mixed, and studio packaged on best-of-breed equipment for simpler tasks which would have a preference for a package of ready made stock sounds of the T-44.
Vintage Trams: passes and rides from a number of perspectives.
The bygone sounds of rattly old trams, passing in the street: the rumble of the metal wheels on the tracks, the sound of the pickup rods on the overhead wires, the clang of the bell and the voice of the conductor, all of these are here for your delight. Starts and stops, rides and passes, all lovingly collected in First Order Ambisonic surround and collated in FuMa & ambiX orders and weighting. Full Soundminer metadata and Excel Spreadsheet included.
And there’s more! A bonus collection of sounds in stereo from my extensive archive, with a ride on a San Francisco cable car, more vintage trams and a series of recordings of a Trolley Bus, an electrically powered bus running form overhead cables, but so quiet in operation, it was known as ‘the silent killer’ as pedestrians tended not to be aware when it was approaching.
Vintage automobiles passing singly and in groups, from the earliest part of the 20th century. Perfect for those traffic backgrounds in your period production. Hundreds of vehicles, none dated later than 1910, passing at various speeds, and in various configurations and at various lengths. Captured in First Order Ambisonic and available n both FuMa and ambiX order and weighting.

This is a library bundle that contains 13 libraries I have recorded, included are 2 vehicles and a metal gear library not currently for sale anywhere else. It is a great vehicle starter pack, with a wooden roller coaster(great for trains), sailboat, bus, 3 cars, 2 motorcycles, fluorescent bulbs, slinky sci-fi sounds, and raven wings and barks. Take a listen to the soundcloud link and feel free to email me with any additional inquiries.
This is a sfx library of a classic wooden roller coaster built in 1932 that is in operation at Bakken theme park in Klampenborg, Denmark. It was recorded in 5 takes with four onboard microphones, multiple stereo rigs placed around the track and a 4 channel sps200 ambeo microphone placed in the middle of the coaster for the first two takes, above the cart in the station for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th takes, and the last take underneath the photobooth hill next to the station.
Sounds included are hill pass-bys, climbing, large bank turn, driving through tunnel, onboard sounds, and 4 channel atmos recording.
This is a great library for designing trains, subways, future machines, and of course, roller coasters. All are recordings contain no park patrons while the park was closed. On one or two of the recordings (while the cart is off mic ) has some light construction noise from park cleaners, this does not affect the usable and editable coaster sounds. I have included a few cut plane by’s and atmospheres that were picked up in-between takes.
If you are curious if a certain sound will work for you please send me a message at [email protected]
Wooden Roller Coaster was recorded with Sound Devices 788, Mixpre3, Zoom H4,H5,H6 with a variety of microphones from DPA, Sennheiser, Line Audio, Soundfield and with wind protection from Bubblebee Industries, Rycote and Cinela.
The Cars In Motion II sound library was built from 551 WAV files, with total length of 268 minutes. It features exterior sounds of cars driving at different speeds, reverse sounds, accelerations, braking sounds and a lot of additional files. You’ll find different sounding engines, from a small Seat Ibiza through a powerful Porsche Cayenne, up to a fast Subaru Impreza WRX. In addition to cars there are also random cars folder, that contains everything from regular cars up to trucks and buses. Here’s a list of all the cars that are part of this library:

Get the injection of ultrasonic-grade sources…
This is an open-minded toolbox with a variety of sound element sources. Most sounds were captured in high resolution and contain rich ultrasonic information. That gives much better results for creative post-processes such as heavy down-pitch shifting or time stretching.
Design Source 192 collection combines different materials and actions, such as: slime manipulations, friction slides, creaks, squeaks, crackles, impacts, resonations, swooshes, pours, shakes, crazy man vocalizations, chihuahua growls and attacks, bursts, water elements and much more.
The Nissan Terrano II 2.7 TDi sound library features 111 high-quality files recorded with a multi-mic setup. Engine was recorded in sync with cabin interior ambients, and you can expect different styles of driving.
From casual city driving, through accelerations on a highway up to rpm ramps and constant rpm loops for game audio. In addition to engine recordings, this sound effects library features exterior passes, whooshes and other road-related sounds recorded in mono and stereo both on wet and dry asphalt.
Last but not least, different foley sounds were recorded to cover exterior and interior activities.
Metal elements is a metal, iron, steel bonanza of hits, impacts, slams as well as mechanical sounds, levers, clicks, drops and drags. This library is especially suited for anyone looking to design sounds that are metallic in nature. The sounds contained in this library will also work fantastic as foley pieces to spice up fights, robot movement, crashes or any action scene for that matter.
Some of the sounds found in the library make use of a contact microphone to add to the lower end frequency that would simply not translate using just a shotgun microphone.
Weapons of World War II is Super Thumps first of many sound libraries recorded and designed by film and video game industry veterans!
This library features 14 different weapons, some of them quite rare, that were commonly used in World War II between German and American forces. The weapons were recorded at various distances, perspectives, and firing modes with a wide array of microphones. They have been compiled together and designed with a punch at 96,000 Hz, 24-bit, ready for you to easily drop into your project! Each weapon contains multiple variations and versions.
This library contains the source recordings of an M3 Grease Gun using several microphones at 4 different distances!
238 total sounds of multiple variations for your sound design needs!
Multiple firing mods recorded! Single shots with tail/report ring-out. Burst fire, and automatic fire, all from 4 different perspectives/distances!
Electric Vehicle is a special library that showcases a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle). For this release I wanted to focus on the EV mode of this vehicle even though it has a measly 45km of electric battery range! But no worries! Now you can drive endlessly on battery-power with “Electric Vehicle” by Sounds of Norway!
Lexus LFA is a two-seat sports car manufactured between 2009 and 2012 by Toyota brand, Lexus. The production number was limited to 500 cars.
This rare and unique sounding car library features 74 high quality files recorded with multi mic setup. Engine was recorded in sync with cabin interior ambients, and you can expect different styles of driving. From casual city driving, through accelerations on a race track up to rpm ramps and constant rpm loops for game audio.
In addition to engine recordings, this sound effects library features few exterior passes, but you can expect an update with more content in the future. Inside this sound effects library you’ll find designed premixed engine onboard recordings and individual stems (engine, exhaust).
This ambiences pack is the result of a short field recording trip / road trip I made in October 2019 around the beautiful land/soundscapes of the Scottish Highlands.
I decided to go with a LCR + AB setup, as while testing different options I found it to be very versatile and relatively light and small. All mics were mounted inside the Cinela Albert basket for more convenience, allowing me to capture multichannel ambiences ( virtually 5.0 surround ) with a single thing to set up, and perfectly sheltered from wind.
I came across rivers, streams, lochs, waterfalls, lochs, harbours, lochs, quiet forests, reindeers slabs and more lochs.
This ” Mini Ambience Pack ” contains 24 sounds /72 files embedded with full and detailed metadata ( Soundminer, Basehead, iXML ).
With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
