WHAT’S INSIDE
Destruction Zone library brings 1570+ HQ audio material, centered around debris and destruction sound effects. We spent great lengths of time recording on-site, in metal scrap yards and quarry mines, construction sites, and a tank graveyard, and we had fun popping balloons, dropping firecrackers into canyons, and sending barrels rolling downhill.
In the studio, we recorded a wide range of materials, covering everything from dust and gravel drops to glass breaks and porcelain smashes and we even recreated volcanic rockslides using authentic rock pieces from Etna volcano (Italy).
The highlights of our Destruction Zone library include high car drops using cranes and clarks, car window breaks using sledgehammers (what a stress relief 🙂 ), the reverberated pops of balloons and firecrackers in one of our beautiful local canyons, sounds of an old corroded metal barrel being thrown downhill and “meticulously vandalized” in order to capture larger than life rolling textures, metal impact, and loud squeaks.
In addition to those raw material-based sounds, we included a number of designed sounds of low-frequency impacts, rumble drones, and different types of ground movements and disaster scenarios, such as rockfalls, mud and lava flows, landslides, earthquakes, avalanches, building collapses, car crashes, and explosions – all you need to design the Second Coming and beyond…
Our motivation behind this collection is to offer opportunities for:
Creating your own mixture of debris sounds
Using our pre-designed mixes unaltered to create the ambiance of weather phenomena, natural disasters, or structural failures and collapses.
Delve into our “Digging” sound effects library, using a variety of tools including spades, shovels and gardening forks recorded to bring the essence of the outdoors right to your fingertips. Filled with the sounds of digging through sand, dirt, gravel, and grass. This library also includes an array of scrapes and pours, ensuring you have the versatility and variety you need to enrich your audio storytelling.
Need the sound of objects being pushed, pulled, dragged, moved – or perhaps sliding and scraping over different surfaces? The Drag & Slide SFX library gets you exactly that: More than 500 dragging and sliding sounds that are ready to be used as they are – or for intense sound design.
Bags, Barrels, Blades, Bottles, Cabinets, Chairs, Coat-hangers, Crates, Dining Tables, Fridges, Frying Pans, Iron Boxes, Iron Tables, Metal Cans, Metal Chairs, Nightstands, Pallets, Paper bags, Plates, Racks, Rakes, Shoes, Shovels, Sledgehammers, Spray cans, Stones/rocks, Toolboxes, Vacuum Cleaners, Various heavy objects, Wooden Boards – and more!
All sounds were cleaned, edited and filled with BWF-Metadata for instant use in your projects – and many of the files in the pack contain more than one sound. Recorded with Sound Devices 744T, 788T, Sennheiser MKH8050, Ambient ATE208, Sony PCM-D100
Dynamic Debris features 425 junk sounds that range from shattered glass scrapes and crashing wooden bangs to small plastic rattles and subtle twig snaps. Use the sounds as is, or take advantage of their high-resolution potential to pitch and process robust layers that are sure take your sound design to the next level.
Expertly recorded on-site at actual junkyards, this sound library contains a vast array of rattles, crashes, clunks and scrapes that satisfy your project’s rubble and junk needs. Recorded and edited with extreme precision, Dynamic Debris is ideal for adding rich, malleable layers to your design free of artifacts or unwanted noise. With sample rates reaching 192kHz, construct your designs with these immaculate sounds to go beyond their raw potential. Pitch down metal squeaks and moans to reveal unforeseen sonic treasures.
Each sound file is embedded with descriptive metadata to help you find the exact sound effect you need with fast, pinpoint search. Advanced metadata fields ensure compatibility across any database search platform such as Search by PSE, Soundminer, BaseHead, Netmix, Workspace (Pro Tools), Find Tool (Media Composer), Media Bay (Nuendo), Reaper, Adobe Premiere, and beyond.
Looking for electric car sounds? This library delivers 211 files / 162 minutes of stereo recordings of the BMW i3 electric vehicle.
The BMW i3 is a B-class, high-roof hatchback manufactured and marketed by BMW with an electric powertrain using rear wheel drive via a single-speed transmission. Its underfloor Li-ion battery pack is offered in two capacities as well as with an optional range-extending gasoline engine. The i3 was BMW’s first mass-produced zero emissions vehicle and was launched as part of BMW’s electric vehicle sub-brand, BMW i.
As of December 2016, the i3 ranked as the world’s third best selling all-electric car in history with more than 65,000 units sold since its inception.
This very quiet car has been recorded using onboard DPA-4060 microphones, to capture the engine and tyre sounds. The different surfaces are gravel, asphalt and rumble strips on the highway. The interior sounds have been recorded using the Zoom H5 XY microphone. There are also contact mic recordings of the wheel housing using Schaller mics.
Passby sounds have been recorded using Line Audio CM3’s in an XY setup as well as the Zoom H5 XY microphone. There are passes on dry and wet asphalt as well as gravel at different speeds.
Finally the engine has been recorded using the Elektrosluch electromagnetic microphone, resulting in 33 minutes of electromagnetic madness in 96 kHz.
I sincerely hope you will find this sound archive useful!
Best,
Morten

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
