Whoosh sound effects, designed movement sounds and transition sound effects
What if we’ll take a shortwave radio receiver and turn its output into to a variety of sound effects?
The result will be not only a set of dark, dirty, noisy and distorted effects, but also subtle, deep atmospheres and even some kind of melodic sounds!
This library is extremely versatile and not focusing on individual types of sound effects.
Here you’ll find distant radio transmissions, strange modulated voices, whine and static, but also designed atmospheres that can be used as interiors of spaceships, machinery or computer rooms, whooshes, passbys, textures, transformations, alien voices, stutters, morphing effects, granular clouds, risers, UI, impacts and much more that you may need when working with trailers, music, game sound or movies.
But that’s not all, as it turned out it’s even possible to make melodic sounds out of these noisy soundscapes!
Try this library and you’ll be happy to add such a unique audio source to your SFX arsenal!

A composite collection of scifi whooshes, space ship pass bys, futuristic transitions, digital sweeps, power downs, power ups and digital stutters.
Over 320 sounds to to give that right sonic treatment to passing by sapceships, jets, fireballs, laser beams, rockets, torpedos and futuristic engines. Also computer interfaces, menu transitions, magical whoshes, worm holes and virtual reality settings will get that intense amount acoustic treatment to not only see the motion.
Even breaks, endings and transitions of all different kinds of electronic music will get that extra kick with this sound library.
Swish & Whoosh is an extensive high quality collection of organic light and hard swishes and whooshes. The library consists of 62 individual objects ranging from a small metal sieve to a medium sized didgeridoo and covers fast, slow, fast multiple and slow multiple articulations.
The main reason I recorded this library was to create a library that covers not only the normal and fast swish whoosh sounds but also the more subtle, minimal soft sounds that are usually missing from other commercial sound effect libraries. The library also comes with bonus content: 22 minutes of metal slinky sounds, including slinky laser sound effects.
Swish & Whoosh was recorded with Sound Devices 702 and a XY stereo pair of Sennheiser MKH8040 microphones in acoustically treated studio environment. The whole library was recorded in 96KHz 24bit quality so these sounds are really flexible if you want to experiment with pitch, stretch and other audio tools. For example pitching down the didgeridoo and plastic tube hollow item sounds by two octaves I found really cool and useful low drone sweeps.
You get the sounds in two formats: 96 kHz, 24 bit and in 44.1 KHz, 16 bit, for more convenient ways of utilizing the sounds in games and other media.
Badminton Racket • Baking Paper Sheet • Beach Bat • Big Drum Stick • Cardboard Box Lid • Cardboard Box • Cleaning Duster • Cloth Large Flag • Cloth Leather Piece • Coat Hanger Metal • Coat Hanger Wood • Cricket Bat • Didgeridoo • Dish Brush • Drum Stick • Floorball Ball • Floorball Stick Large • Floorball Stick Small • Horse Whip • Jump Rope Breaded • Kitchen Knife • Leather Belt Light • Leather Belt • Magazine • Metal Frying Pan • Metal Grater • Metal Sieve Large • Metal Sieve Small • Metal Slinky • Metal Spatula • Microphone Windshield • Paper Sheet • Plastic Box Lid Large • Plastic Carpet Beater • Plastic Cord Taped End • Plastic Cord • Plastic Fruit Squeezer Juicer • Plastic Garbage Bag Large • Plastic Garbage Bag Small • Plastic Mouse Pad • Plastic Pipe Small Angled • Plastic Pipe Small • Plastic Shoe Spoon • Plastic Swim Fin Flipper • Plastic Tube Hollow • Plastic Tube With Metal String • Plastic Wire • Plastic Vuvuzela • Pom Pom • Rope Light • Styrofoam Ball Large • Tennis Racket • Tin Foil Sheet • Umbrella Large • Violin Bow • Wood Branch Large Leafs • Wood Branch Large • Wood Branch Small Leafs • Wood Branch Small • Wood Rack • Wood Stick • Wood Strip Small
As bonus content you will get over 22 minutes worth of recordings using the legendary metal slinky! The bonus content covers swishes, rattles, stretching and collisions. And as mentioned, I also recorded light and heavy metal slinky laser zap sounds (technique made famous by Ben Burtt in Star Wars movies).

Victor Mercader – AAA Sound Designer (Apex Legends)
“I find myself continuously using Slava’s SFX libraries to blend it’s pristine and detailed sound designs into my own sounds. They always add that cutting edge I am missing and make my sound designs more unique and pristine. The Sci-fi Elements sound library is the perfect library to use and blend into my UI designs in Apex Legends.”
Enos Desjardins – Sound Designer/Sound Effects Editor (Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Black Mirror)
“Slava has been creating some really cool libraries which I find myself using time and again. Really high quality recordings to start with but then the cool processing he has used for example in his cinematic whoosh libraries really stand out. They are not just your standard generic whoosh sounds but are loaded with character and have a unique feel to them that is really fresh and cuts through in the nicest of ways.”
Bjørn Jacobsen – AAA Sound Designer (CyberPunk 2077, HITMAN, DARQ)
“Slava has for several years made high quality sound effects for me to play with. I use his sound libraries across multiple projects as lego blocks of my creations.”
Stefan Kovatchev – Audio Director (MultiVersus)
“Slava has put together an impressive collection of high quality source assets, recorded cleanly, and at high sample rates. It’s always refreshing to find a new purveyor of good source material. I particularly enjoyed Resonating Metal Force, which is comprised of very useable, unique tonal textures and impacts.”

“Slava’s Cinematic Wood Symphony detailed textures and movements blend so well in what I’m usually looking for in terms of sound design. It really brings proximity and sensitivity to the action while feeling real and natural. The creative blend of the wooden sounds with whooshes and impacts also makes them very unique. I’m finding myself coming back to them more and more as they fit in many situations.”
Yarron Katz – AAA Composer and Sound Designer
“Slava makes some wonderful libraries. He’s relatively new on the scene and his libraries have come to critical acclaim. He takes some general ideas, like whooshes and he injects some extremely revolutionary and innovative ideas to them, so you’re not getting another whoosh library – you’re getting something very unique, very fresh. He brings some wonderful ideas to the table.”

Abstract Aqua sound effects library is a result of different field recording sessions with more experimental approach.
It features 208 192kHz WAV files, 92 designed sound effects and 116 RAW recordings. It was recorded with a Sound Devices 702 and Sony PCM-D100, Sennheiser MKH 8040 microphones, Rode NTG3 and Aquarian Audio hydrophone. Total length of the files is 334 minutes.
The designed files have more abstract feel to it, so you’ll find aqua whooshes, different underwater sounds and big sounding waves. The RAW files includes different wave recordings from the Baltic Sea, water foley sounds and effects recorded with hydrophones. You can find more informations in the library sound list.
Impact is a 100 sound collection of light and heavy abstract hits sourced from lo-fi recordings of the destruction of laptops, mobile phones and a handheld games console. The sounds have been manipulated with extreme editing and digital processing – leaving little to no trace of the original recordings behind – to bring a series of production elements ready to drop into your latest trailer, environment or Industrial/EDM music production. Featuring huge sonic eruptions, metal on metal collisions, robotic movement, found sound snare drums, tech debris and more, this versatile array of sound effects may be just what you need to give your latest production that extra bit of Impact.
Exclusive to A Sound Effect, this library comes with 100 bonus source material sounds featuring hammer hits, drops and debris scrapes!
Electromagnetic informations are invisible and omnipresent. In every city, especially the big ones, an infinite number of electromagnetic waves is hidden: we can’t hear them, but they’re everywhere! Unseen Noises explores the “invisible” noise pollution transducing electromagnetic fields into audio signals with a telephone pickup: it acts like a radio antenna for hum and weird electromagnetic noises.
“We used telephone tap coils that receive electromagnetic signals around us and convert them into audible information to discover invisible and surprising aspects of the environment in which we live in.
To widen our sound palette, we explored cell phones, tablets, light systems, automated teller machines, wireless communication systems, anti-theft security devices, surveillance cameras, computers, navigation systems, wireless Internet routers, neon advertisings, public transportation networks.
We just used the system of electromagnetic induction as way of amplifying musical sounds. Our efforts were focused on finding “articulated” behaviours and other musical qualities in them.
Note that the files contained in “Unseen Noises” are real performances executed on different devices without editing.” – Matteo Milani
Databending: A digital art form where flaws in digital systems are exploited and used for creative purposes.
Data Disruption contains 200 sounds sourced from raw computer files which have been interpreted as audio data. Bitmaps, executables, plugin files and more have been exploited to bring you a unique, varied collection of sound effects and atmospheres ready for a range of productions.
This sound collection has 100 'raw' files which include harsh, random data noises, intense drones and a versatile selection of glitch one shots as well as 100 processed sounds which were subject to extreme editing and mangling to deliver an array of abstract sonic artefacts.
Most useful for scenarios where computer technology – known or otherwise – is glitching out, these sounds are best suited to Science Fiction productions which call for the noise of broken communications, signal failures, ailing machines, industrial settings, planetary ambience and dystopian soundworlds.
That's not to say they won't also come in handy for Glitch/IDM music producers looking to build up an original collection of sounds for their latest kit, or for the creative sound designer to further shape these sounds into anything from user interface clicks, blips and bleeps to surreal soundscapes and beyond.
‘Cinematic Transitions’ by Cinematic Sound Design delivers a collection of more than 100 high-definition, hand-crafted transition sound effects. There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
