Ready, aim…FIRE!
Pull the trigger on this one-of-a-kind antique gun library! Using a multi-mic configuration (comprising the Sennheiser MKH50, Røde NTG-3 and Line Audio CM4 Stereo Pair) our Audio Craftsmen recorded a professional armourer manipulating two authentic 19th century muskets. The result is a carefully edited collection of intimate sounds, including opening and closing the frizzen, dry firing, trigger fidgeting, dropping and dragging the gun on various surfaces, loading with ramrods, blowing into the barrel, hands sliding and twisting across the gun, slamming the stock, grabbing the barrel and more!
Our multi-mic set-up means for most of the actions you can enjoy different perspectives while designing technical scenes. Perfect for Film, TV, documentary and game projects that feature flintlock or caplock muskets, rifles or pistols. This library is a real Foley treat!
Sounds have been separated into the following categories:
General Handling: Hand twists, grabs and slides.
Scraping: The stock (butt) of the gun scraping across wood and cobbles.
Loading: Actions involving the ramrod and barrel.
Mechanisms: Manipulation of cock, caplock, frizzen and trigger.
Groundwork: Anytime the gun is in contact with concrete, earth, sand and wood surfaces. Includes the gun dropping, falling and being picked up, as well as the stock slamming onto the ground.
Each file contains multiple performances of the named action.
All sounds were recorded in 24Bit 192kHz, and have been tagged with extensive UCS metadata for ease of use.
The unbeatably versatile Hydrophonic Design Bundle comprises three libraries of designed source recordings captured simultaneously with our Aquarian H2a Hydrophone and Sennheiser MKH50 microphone.
Our Audio Craftsmen designed a wide range of hydro-recordings using dopplers, comb filters and other creative processes to produce an assortment of unique sonic textures. These include whooshes, passes, tones, movements, impacts, oneshots and ambiences suitable for layering into water environments, sci-fi and space scapes, and horror projects alike.
Each sound has been carefully edited by our Audio Craftsmen for maximum sonic clarity so that you can drop each sound directly into your project timeline and get down to work with minimal fuss.
All sounds are delivered in 24Bit 192kHz format allowing further sonic manipulation and have been meticulously edited and tagged with extensive UCS compliant metadata for ease of use.
The Geophonic Instruments Bundle comprises three libraries of low, moody tones produced by the unusual interaction between musical instruments and the Lom Geofón.
This unique process enabled the capture of each instrument’s super low frequencies – going all the way down to 10 Hz. Our Audio Craftsmen then designed these recordings to accentuate the rich, low resonances of each sound, resulting in an idiosyncratic, tonal quality.
Inside this bundle is a creative assortment of low frequency instrument noises, including hits, rumbles, scrapes, blowings, taps, booms, bowings and other abstract sounds – all with a foundational musical element.
Because of its intense low frequency energy, the Geophonic Instrument Bundle is perfect for sci-fi, horror and mystery projects. It will also lend itself well to Film, TV and Game productions across a variety of genres. Add a dark, timbral edge to your projects with these unique sounds!
All sounds included were carefully captured and meticulously edited for maximum sonic quality, enabling you to drop each sample into your projects with no need for further enhancement or modification.
The entire bundle is delivered at 24Bit/192kHz, and tagged with extensive Metadata.
Bubbles Vol. 2 is our next underwater library featuring unique recordings captured with our dual-mic set-up. Our Audio Craftsman have used an overwater-underwater microphone configuration using the Sennheiser MKH50 for the overwater mic and the Aquarian H2a Hydrophone for the underwater recordings. With both mic options available as separate files, there are multiple options for layering up each sound effect.
Bubbles Vol. 2 brings you medium to large-sized bubbles: perfect for larger underwater movement and submerging.
All files are named with detailed descriptions, along with the microphone that was used to capture them. All sounds are delivered in 24Bit 192kHz format allowing further sonic manipulation, and have been meticulously edited and tagged with extensive UCS compliant Metadata for ease of use.
A short and to the point library of over the top designed sounds that go boom, bang and smack. UCS Compliant.
Here’s a short and to the point library of over the top designed sounds that go boom, bang and smack. Preference was given to style over “realism” and each sound effect includes five variations to make design and implementation for game audio easier. All sounds are designed and stylized, but room was left in the mix for the sounds to be used as components in your own work. Included are fight impacts, stone and metal impacts, explosions and the splat of a skull crushing. This library comes with full metadata and is UCS Compliant.

The sounds of grinding, skidding, windscreen groaning, rumbling and hooting – a complete sound effects library of the UAZ-469.
This library is of the UAZ 469 Off Road All Purpose Vehicle – manufactured by UAZ. Originally used in by the soviet forces; it became known as the UAZ 469-B and is used by a variety of countries.

Places Ambience Library supplies you with 111 common or familiar locations from Airport to Zoo.
Placing focus on locations with human created or populated environments such as public spaces, event gatherings, and public service infrastructures. Recognizable environments for easy use to add as a background creating your place for a scene.
Immerse yourself in the second library of the Ambisonics series by USO. These “Runaway Trains” were recorded with a Senneheiser Ambeo and a Sonosax R4+ in and around the Milano Greco Pirelli railway station, which is part of the so-called “Milan Circle Line,” a railway loop which circumnavigates the city.
The library contains a lot of passing trains and ambient sounds recorded very close to the railway, both by day and by night. There has been no further processing, although I did carefully remove all the Italian P.A. announcements, to make life easier for the editors during the sound montage.
A useful bonus, too: you will find some ready-to-use backgrounds as “airfill” between the passing trains to create continuity in a longer scene, if need be. The ambient sounds are also great as a standalone!
With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
