This library features recordings made from a Laurin Koster 32ft 4 cylinder engine Sailboat.
This library contains docked harbor ambiences while windy and calm, water movements, sail foley, engine ignition starts and cut offs, multiple different RPMs while taxiing out of the harbor, sailing, on-deck atmospheres from different perspectives and contact mic recordings of different unique sounds of the sailboat. Contains everything you need to construct a film, game or commercial from a sailboat’s perspective.
Sounds for this library were recorded over 5 sessions – in a private zoo and in the field, all in cooperation with professional birds trainers. Â All of them were recorded outdoor (and just a few in an outdoor aviary). Trainers helped us to get variety of bird calls and vocalisations, like: shriek, cry, squawk, screech, whistle, scream.
Three sessions, were recorded extremely close to birds on very quiet big field. The intention was to grab very isolated and rich sounds, useful for sound design. For this sessions we used Sanken CO-100k and Sennheiser MKH-8060, which were super close (just a few centimeters away from brids beaks) and Schoeps CMC-6XT MK41 a bit wider for more natural/open sound. Although sometimes Sanken and Sennheiser sound very similiar (they were in similar position), we left both files. Sanken recordings (@192kHz) are amazing for pitch shifting, yet sounds recorded by Sennheiser are very natural in neutral pitch.
When pitch shifted, all sounds become very evocative and emotional sound design sources.
All files contain natural sequences and rhythms of calls. There are also close wing flaps, movements and even sounds of birds eating recorded in macro close POV.
The library is extensively metatagged in Soundminer.
Please note: Pitch shifted files in the demo are presented only to show potential of those recordings and aren't included in the library.
This library consists of countryside sounds captured in the summertime. Recorded in Quadro and Stereo. There are sounds of a village and sounds of nature without human influence.
Recording gear: Sounddevices 744t, Schoeps MS set, Nevaton QUAD MC 50, Oktava MC-012 Double-MS set
The Ambisonic Airplanes Cessna 172 library, is a small library procured from a single short flight. Â The recordings were made from the rear passenger seat positioned as close as possible to the middle of the aircraft. Â The front of the Ambisonic microphone faced the cockpit. Â The flight was recorded in it’s entirety and edited down for easier use.
Types of recordings include idling, flying, flying with windows open, taxiing, taxiing with windows open, engine turning on, engine turning off, plane during takeoff, plane during landing, plane engine test (1700 RPM test) and more.
The library was recorded using a Sennheiser Ambeo VR Microphone onto a Sound Devices MixPre 6. Â The library has a fairly large size because we have conveniently provided 4 versions of the same files to make it easier and more flexible to use. Â Included you will find B-Format wav files (FuMa and AmbiX) A-Format raw wav files and a Binaural stereo mix down. Â The library includes a total of 17 unique files and 68 total files.

The Farm is a sound library that I compiled about a year ago just for fun and I kept adding sounds recorded at the same location in the Canadian countryside at 4 different farms. During the recording session, I’ve been lucky enough to have met some fantastic people ready to share their passion for farming and pointing me out to what they felt was an essential part of their everyday soundscape.
I had the chance to stumble on two late 50s John Deere tractors that where still functional and that marked the end of an era. It is a comprehensive farm sound library that is not just about tractors or animals.
You will find, in the bonus section, 6 different footsteps surfaces each with a walk and run variation and some more. There are five main categories in this library: Ambiances, Animals, Footsteps, Misc (Various SFX) and Vehicles ready for creating a convincing farm soundscape for your project.
Wind Elements – Interior is 75 minutes/2.43 Gb of howling, blasting and fluttering wind, recorded from inside various buildings. 90 separate files – recorded in 24bit/96kHz using Sennheiser MKH & Primo EM172 microphones, and mastered in X/Y stereo. All files are UCS-compliant.
This collection is the bigger, badder sequel to bestseller Howling Winds – Interior, with more of everything: fresh recordings, more types of wind, more locations and just more variation.
Everything from violent blasting and howling, to gentle, caressing wind. Some with sleet and rain, cracking and creaking of window frames and roof materials, others with faint sound of rustling leaves or urban buzz.
You get both long ambiances from various locations, as well as plenty of short files to sweeten up your mix.
Some sounds have been eq’ed aggressively to enhance the feeling of being indoors, but very little processing has been applied otherwise. You’ll hear a bit of hiss here and there; I left it in because I felt noise reduction would take away too much character in those specific cases.
You get:
DRONEA gets you over 13 hours of drones, pads, underscores and atmospheres.

All sounds were recorded or designed at 24-bit, 96 kHz, with embedded meta data.

Discover the quaint charm of a sleepy Northern English town, on a cold and windy night, the sound of windchimes shimmering through the air.
The Dormant Village Library was recorded in a small village in North Yorkshire, England, on the night before Christmas. It was very cold and windy, and there were almost no people around, as everyone was sipping hot cocoa in their homes.
The library was recorded in a few different locations, some close to the little traffic that was still present, and some further away. The recordings were then polished and edited down to just about 12 minutes, preserving the essence of the location.
In addition to the descriptive SoundMiner metadata embedded in the files, I have also added markers in iZotope RX, which can be read in some versions of SoundMiner, Reaper, etc.
The markers indicate small sonic events, such as distant, melodic windchimes, or when the wind picks up, allowing you to understand what happens throughout the recording without having to listen to the whole thing.
IN MOTIONÂ is a collection of high quality time-lapse-like sound effects, indicating passage of time.
40 high quality, carefully rendered, sound effects created with FILM and TV in mind.
Enhance your time-lapses/hyper-lapses, Created original sound transitions to give your documentary

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
