  • This is a collection of location foley sounds (anything we could find that makes sound) recorded over 3-year period in authentic historical houses and barns.

This includes 1700s peasant village houses, 1700s manor, 1850s farm, 1900s manor and 1930s cottage. These are recorded for film projects so they have the right cinematic feel, dynamic and variation.

The houses were full of period props, so the recordings are rich and have lots of details that take you to the right time and feel.

The library weighs in at more than 18 GB total, and features 4000+ sounds in 2267 files.

    Highlights:
    • This is an updated version of the library. Now it is properly edited.
    • The stereo recordings have often one channel as close-up mic and other as distant / room mic.
    • All recordings are 96khz 24bit with metadata.
    • We used the best sounding equipment – sound devices recorders (744, 702, mixpre), Sennheiser mkh 8040,  mkh416 and DPA 4006a microphones.

  • Meet Sybelle de Bauvais, a beautiful Percheron mare who helped us record this sound collection.

Recorded with and without the carriage, the libraries features this huge draft horse walking, trotting and galloping on various surfaces such as concrete, dirt, gravel, sand, grass and others.

For the carriage, microphones were positionned on various positions to capture a large variety of metal rattles, squeaks and creaking sounds. The library also contains clean hoove sounds recorded with microphones mounted on, or following the rider.

    Multiple mic perspectives

This sound pack includes multiples channels of onboard perspectives around the carriage and the horse, capturing the wheels, the hooves, the frame or the harness.

  • The Roll from The Library by Empty Sea contains over 750 original Wheeled Object sound effects for all your rolling needs!

We set out to record objects that roll in a similar manner to how one would record cars. With multiple tracks recording simultaneously and synced to one another, intercutting between perspectives has never been easier. Onboards, Passbys, Cornering. Some of the objects were even loaded down with weight to change the sonic profile! It’s all here! Toy Cars, Strollers, Wagons, Scooters, Luggage, Carts, Hand Truck. Part 1 has a great selection of rolling objects for all of your sound design needs.

The Roll was recorded exclusively at 96k24bit. We utilized several different recorders and microphones for this project including Zoom F8n, Roland R-07, Zoom H4n, and Oktava MK-012. The Roll also utilizes UCS for easier cataloging in sound effect database management software.
