This is a sound library of an American 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 race sports muscle car, with a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 engine that produces 777 horsepowers.
The car has the following modifications:Â
Ported throttle body, ported supercharger, water/methanol injection system, upgraded air intake system, bespoke exhaust line, shorter springs. This results in an additional 127 bhp from a standard of 650.
The recording was done during the vehicle’s performance test session. The car was rigged with 3 DPA 4062’s for exhaust sound and 3 DPA 4061’s for the engine’s audio and a stereo array of DPA 4060’s for the interior.
The library has over 100 minutes of onboard audio covering a wide variety of sounds. This includes full-speed runs, slow and cool-down laps, drifting sessions, take-offs with launch control, arrival and takeoffs.
Passbys were captured by both stereo and mono field-based setups yielding a wide variety of sounds such as takeoffs, full, medium and slow speed passbys, passes mid-drifting and burnouts. Library also contains some natural tyre squealing and the sound of the car passing over the curbs at high speed.
The car also had a stereo setup installed within the interior produced limiting results due to frequent radio chatter. What was usable is edited alongside the onboard. Enjoy!

The Porsche 911 GT3 is not a typical race car.
With engine, transmission, air intake and exhaust all situated in the rear of the vehicle under a large wing, this pure driving machine has sonic characteristics very different from many familiar racing vehicles. Its exhaust note is deep and throaty and the transmission is snappy at speed.
The Porsche 911 GT3 library is a series of recordings that were made on a track just outside of Houston on media day for the Effort race team. These are 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 Rs that race on the Pirelli World Challenge series. Each car has a naturally aspirated, water cooled, four valve 4.0 liter flat six cylinder Porsche engine. These cars create 500 horse power from the factory and race with E10 fuel. The transmission is a Porsche six gear racing box with sequential shift mechanism.
With full access to the vehicles and the track, we recorded up to 13 channels on every movement.

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
