We’ve recently added six new libraries with immersive sounds of the Middle East and Southeast Asia and sonic textures for your sci-fi and foley needs. On your world journey, you can explore Turkey, Indonesia and Jordan with sounds of major cities, rural living, bazaars, calls to prayer, and celebrations of Ramadan. If you prefer to follow your imagination, you can also listen to sounds of malfunctioning mecha, otherworldly lifeforms, and objects being dragged on concrete by a rogue A.I. or across a forest floor by an angry Ent. With such beautifully handcrafted and thoughtful libraries, you’re sure to find something you’ll like!
'Drag & Slide' by SoundBits is a wide-ranging library that will save you in a pinch. This library has over 500 sounds of objects being dragged, pulled and pushed over various surfaces. You'll find sounds of rusty barrels scraping across concrete floors, heavy objects being dragged through leaves, an armchair as it squeaks across a wooden floor and much, much more. These sounds were also recorded at 96kHz by Sound Devices and Sennheiser mics, making them flexible enough to be pitch-shifted and layered into larger scenarios. Perhaps a dinosaur is dragging the body of its prey or a ship is crashing onto land? It's up to you!
'Artificial Life' by Lesser Vibes has designed and raw sci-fi sound effects for your alien lifeforms and machinery. These sounds are categorized into articulations, impacts, interface sounds, textures, whooshes and drones, offering you a complete and otherworldly soundscape for your game or film. You will find energy bursts, lasers, sparks, glitchy reactions, computations, and more, that can voice your A.I., extraterrestrials, and spaceships - which make you wonder if they may have become sentient. For over 477 sounds of deep space communication and calculation, 'Artificial Life' is worth checking out.
'Designed Mecha' by Gregor Quendel in collaboration with Bend Audio Design, gives you broadband, mechanized sounds that are ready for your game or film. These sounds are powerful and professional and offer a distinct sci-fi edge for the technology in your world. In this library, you will receive 50 sounds of massive machines, A.I., and robotic body suits with whirring inner engines, startups and power downs, ambiences, space movement, and servos. Many sounds could be used for doors, engines, weapons, glitches, malfunctions, and plasma explosions, or layered on to acoustic sounds to give them a sci-fi edge. For buzzing, whirring and splashing booms, here's 'Designed Mecha'.
'Turkey' by Faunethic is a beautifully perceptive sound library that feels more like a documentary than a sound list. This collection, which was gathered during Ramadan all across Turkey, captures insight into the daily life of the massive city of Istanbul and the plains of the Anatolia and Aegean coasts. It contains sounds of muezzins lifting their voices for centered and passionate adhans, people playing games and enjoying coffee, a teenager leading prayers, and the beauty of happy voices as people see each other in Istanbul's busy markets during the holiday. For sounds that celebrate humanity and community, here's 'Turkey'.
'Jordan' by Faunethic gives you 80 minutes of lush nature, bustling cities, and peaceful countrysides from northeastern Ruwaished to busy Amman to the peaceful Wadi-Rum desert and the Red Sea. It has calls to prayer that ring spectacularly through the hills and echo off buildings, joyful conversations within the bazaars of Amman, and desert ambiences with bird calls and wind that gusts across the ridges of the canyons into the valleys. For 80 minutes of diverse sounds from humankind's historic homeland, check out 'Jordan'.
'Indonesia' by Faunethic by Faunethic is a library full of sounds of rural villages and major cities from three of the country's islands: Java, Bali and Lombok. You can hear sounds of children laughing and playing football on the Pemeturan coast of Bali, cows and dogs on the volcanic Lombok island, people walking through markets of Yojakarta, and busy city traffic and airport ambience in the country's second largest city, Surabaya. You will also hear worshipful singing, thunderstorms, night ambiences filled with crickets, tropical ambiences, and more in this 80-minute library. For the diverse sounds of a beautiful Southeast Asian country, have a listen to 'Indonesia'.
