This week on A Sound Effect, we have sound libraries that’ll have your ears tingling with delight. From the serene sounds of nature to the explosive world of weapons, we’ve got something for every audio expert.
For those seeking urban soundscapes, check out ambiences from Hong Kong and other cities and rural areas of China, plus field recordings from St. Petersburg and Groningen. You can also hear a storm in a British back garden, Ambisonic sea waves, and sounds of dozens of species of insects in high detail.
For vehicles this week, you can rev your engines with a Volkswagen T-Cross, as well as nostalgic antique engines from the late 1800s and early 1900s.
If you’re looking for intense and realistic sounds of combat, check out the unique sounds of dry fire from a FA0818 CZ Scorpion pistol, dramatic sword clashes.
Finally, for novel sound libraries that make you say: "Yes, this is what I was looking for!", we have bottles being picked up, dropped, and unscrewed, and Eastern instruments like the Tsugaru Shamisen and Qanun Harp.
So, whether you’re a filmmaker, game developer, or simply an audio enthusiast, these sound libraries have something to offer. Happy listening!
