Sigil - Dark Electro-Acoustic Textures

'Sigil - Dark Electro-Acoustic Textures' by Noise Jockey Sound Design has dark, eerie textures made from handmade electro-acoustic instruments and found objects.

  • Sigil is a unique library of dark, gritty, raw, and eerie textures and tones made from one-of-a-kind handmade electro-acoustic instruments and found objects created by sound designer and musician Nathan Moody.

Sigil provides an edgy set of layers that are rich with organic complexity: Skittery bows on handmade string instruments; “prepared” string tones and textures, bowed and rubbed springs under tension; salvaged rusty metal tubes; perforated steel gongs; aluminum water bottle bells; and deep, resonant handmade percussion instruments. Textures include chugs, shrieks, groans, drones, bounces, peals, and rattles. The sounds range from blissfully musical to horrifyingly atonal, and are equally at home lending an uneasy tone to either avant garde musical works or multi-layered sound effects, especially in thriller or horror genres.

The organic nature of the Sigil library means that its sounds hold up well to extreme processing like pitch shifting and granular resynthesis. The handmade nature of the instruments used means that there’s no other library quite like it.

The recordings were made with a variety of pickups, contact microphones, and traditional microphones, through various high-end “character” mic preamps selected uniquely per microphone and per instrument. Full details are in the library’s documentation.

This collection was recorded at 24 bits, 96 kHz and includes over three hours of recordings with more than 600 individual sounds, all fully tagged with metadata. Multiple articulations and voicing are ganged into single files for convenience and organization.

Wind In Broadleaf Trees

'Wind In Broadleaf Trees' by Lydtopi is a collection of recordings of wind flowing through Swedish forests in October. It captures soothing and relaxing soft winds, tense moderate winds, dramatic strong winds, and transitions.

  • Weather Sound Effects Wind In Broadleaf Trees Play Track 42 sounds included, 66 mins total $20

Wind In Broadleaf Trees is a collection of recordings focusing on wind through broadleaf trees. Recorded in a Swedish forest in October it is representative of the most common broadleaf trees in Europe and other areas with a temperate climate.

In this collection I wanted to capture evocative and emotional wind sounds, from the soothing and relaxing soft winds, tense moderate winds, dramatic strong winds and the transitions between the different emotions or speeds of wind.

The collection was recorded at 24 bits 96Khz with an A-B stereo setup. It contains both longer files, with two minutes and more in length and shorter files edited to be a seamless loop. The files also come with embedded metadata.

•In Bowed Cactus, get a visceral collection of bowed and plucked cactus from the deserts of the American Southwest. Take a violin bow to a cactus spine and hear guttural screeches with intense, physical energy. Hear plucked needles popping in rich organic granulation. Hear thick, bowed spines growling like supernatural animals and single needles stuttering with real grit.
•This library offers you an extensive collection of sounds from a unique organic sound source. I hope you are excited by their sound designing potential and I can’t wait to hear what you create!

Static Space

'Static Space' by hzandbits is a collection of 155 space and sci-fi sound effects that are focused on continuous, seamless loops with sounds of spaceships cruising and idling, tones from engine rooms, strange transmissions, and more.

  • Static Space is a collection of 155 UCS-compliant space or Sci-Fi sound effects, focused on continuous, seamless loops. Instead of fly-by’s and accelerations, you get the sounds of space ships going at cruise speeds or idling. If you need motion, just add panning, fades and doppler as you like.

Here are plenty of loops for designing alien environments, including engine rooms, general room tones, strange transmissions and more. Additionally, I have made sure to add plenty of variety; both in terms of moods, frequency content and tonality. Some of these are unmistakably space sound effects, while others are more ambiguous, and could be used for other high tech environments as well.

You will find both low- and high end sweeteners, so when ever you see the words “rumble” or “low end” in a file name; watch that master fader! Furthermore, I went for a strong, almost musical tone, in some sounds, while others are much more noise-based and abrasive.

Traffic

'Traffic' by Edible Audio features various recordings of traffic ranging from rural highways, inner city and residential areas, wet traffic, and more, from different times of the day.

  • Animal Sound Effects Animal Hyperrealism Vol III Play Track 1711 sounds included $170

Animal Hyperrealism Vol III is a library containing sounds themed animal vocalisations, from real to designed creatures totaling more than 1700 individual sounds in 279 files.

The sounds were recorded in zoos and wildlife centers. The asset list includes but is not limited to: european red deers, monkeys, reindeers, hornbills camels, crickets, tamarins, boars, frogs, red ruffed lemurs, parrots, and many more.

The content has been recorded at 192KHz with a Sanken CO100K plus a Sennheiser 8050 for center image and a couple of Sennheiser MKH8040 for stereo image.
Part of the cheats section of the library features samples recorded at 384KHz. For these sounds an additional microphone was employed, specifically the CMPA by Avisoft-Bioacoustics which records up to 200 KHz. This microphone was used to record most of the library but the 384KHz format was preserved only where energy was found beyond 96KHz not to occupy unnecessary disk space.
All files are delivered as stereo bounce of these for mics, though in some instances an additional couple of CO100K was added to the sides.
The resulting ultrasonic spectrum is rich and allows for truly extreme manipulation of the content.

Bonus: Two extra libraries included for free:
This library also includes two additional releases from Mattia Cellotto - for free: Crunch Mode delivers 230 crunchy sounds made with a variety of vegetables, fresh bread, pizza crust and a selection of frozen goods. The Borax Experiment gets you 158 squishy, gory, slimy and gooey sounds.
