Being able to easily find the sounds you’re after is key, especially on a site like A Sound Effect with thousands of sound libraries available. That’s why I’ve been working on an improved search feature on the site, and today, I’m glad to introduce the beta version. It’s actually been live on the site for a few weeks while I’ve been tweaking it, but I figured it’s time to properly introduce it.
• Ranked results: Per default, the search results are now based on overall site search history, trends and popularity. This means that results should be a lot more relevant to what you’re searching for.
• Search within results: Once you get to the search results page, you can refine your current search with additional keywords to further narrow down what you need.
• Filter by category: Only show sound libraries within a certain category – this makes it easier to get straight to the types of libraries you’re after
• Filter by tags: Common tags are displayed for the libraries in the search results – and you can filter by these tags to only see products containing the ones that apply to what you’re looking for
• Filter by SFX Creator: This feature is work-in-progress, but it’ll allow you to only see results from certain sound creators.
