New sound effects: Medieval life, robotics, resonances, ambisonic crowds, cars, cityscapes – and EMF recordings

BOOM Library has a new library on A Sound Effect, and for many of you, that's reason enough to check it out! 'Medieval Life' takes you to the busy markets, peaceful farms, courtyards, and thieves' campsites from an era that continues to be re-imagined through beloved TV shows and video games. This massive collection features over 500 sounds and 45 GB of stereo & 5.0 surround content with detailed ambiences and SFX like clucking chickens, chopping woods, church bells, rattling chains, and more! If your world takes place when beheadings were a daily occurrence and mead was the drink of choice, then check out this library!

'Dacia 1310' by Mindful Audio has the sounds of this Romanian-built 1995 model. With nearly a half hour of content, you'll hear the recognizable characteristics of this car with sounds of a stuttering ignition, city and highway driving, idling, going uphill and downhill, switching through the gears, revving, and stopping the engine. These recordings were also recorded simultaneously on 4 channels from the engine, exhaust, and trunk, making them great for switching perspectives in your film or game. If you need some rickety elements to add to your engine design, this library has them!

West Wolf once again brings us ambiences from Sofia, Bulgaria, and this time they take place during the busiest hours of the day. 'Cityscapes And Streets' features nearly two and a half hours of urban ambiences from subway stations, pedestrian areas, and highways, plus more relaxing places like parks, city squares, and playgrounds. These atmospheres capture prominent elements like birds, cats, and sirens, as well as crowd ambiences that will blend perfectly into your backgrounds, regardless of whether you speak Bulgarian. If you need go-to city sounds for your busy setting, check out this library.

'Robotics Lab' by hzandbits has 26 minutes of sounds from 3D-printers, ABB robot systems, and CNC cutters for your hi-tech industrial machine SFX and ambiences. This library features stuttering, humming, movements, servos, whirrs, fans, motors, and more from these devices, offering a collection of complex ambiences as well as isolated sequences. If you aren't familiar with these machines, don't worry - the metadata will lead you to the exact qualities you're seeking. For true-to-life sounds of robotics, this library has the subtle characteristics your audience will appreciate.

Badlands Sound is on a roll with emotive libraries that focus on a specific theme, and 'Resonance' is their newest installment. This library features 25 drones that resonate in ways that are organic and textured with tensions that insinuate danger and anxiety. Each sound is one minute long and explores a range of frequencies with unnerving tones and different levels of airness, noise, and pulses. This library definitely doesn't demand much from your wallet, so if these are the qualities you're looking for, check this one out.

'Ambisonic Surround Crowds' by 2496 Sound Effects offers you sounds of crowds enjoying their free time in all sorts of venues. You'll hear busy convention centers, quiet museums, exciting carnivals, and relaxing parks for smooth ambiences that will give you unintrusive padding for your main dialogue.
