22 new sound libraries Asbjoern Andersen

This week on A Sound Effect, we're diving into a diverse collection of sound libraries that will add depth and realism to your projects. From the raw power of vintage firearms to the delicate melodies of Eastern instruments, we've got something for everyone.

For those seeking the sounds of nature and human culture, we have animal vocalizations from various species, ambiences from Kuala Lumpur and Penang in Malaysia, nature and cityscape essentials, and professional walla of bustling Nigerian crowds.

For genre-specific sounds, this is your week! We have two new bundles inspired by the Eastern scores of "Shogun" and "Ghost of Tsushima", sounds for 8-bit-era retro games, UI sounds for futuristic interfaces and a complete inventory collection, versatile non-elemental magical spells, and punches, announcer voices, bone breaks for realistic fights.

For vehicles, check out the hard-to-find roars of sports car racing, the ultra-classy '59 BMC mini car, and a rare Porsche dune buggy.

And if you're looking for something to bring life to your timeline or prototype a scene, give a listen to foley of veggie and egg destruction, creative wings of flying creatures, a massive bell collection, sounds of historic black powder weapons and European sidearms, the sheathing and unsheathing of swords, a toolbox of synthy explosions, weapons, and impacts, and a mid-century wall phone. Happy listening!

Sound Themes – Wings In Motion 01

'Sound Themes – Wings In Motion 01' by Systematic Sound has diverse flying creature sounds. It offers an array of wing flaps, buzzes, clicks, and rustles using various materials and has detailed metadata for easy navigation and sound selection.

  • Designing wing sounds for flying creatures can sometimes be a challenge. And when it comes to creature sounds, it’s all about options. A small bird like a wren sounds very different than an adult gray goose. To find the right texture, and distinguish between wide and narrow wings, or to accomplish the task of designing bat or dragon wings, I created this library.

This library contains over 11GB of data consisting of 341 files and 2539 sound effects. Besides the typical fabric wing flaps, I used all sorts of props sorted by materials like rubber, neoprene, plastic, paper, etc. This opens the door to new creative sound design options to make your flying creature sound exactly how you want it to. I added all sorts of buzzing, clicking and rustling sounds especially for the flying insects.

Ideal for sound designers, this library is a top choice for creating realistic monster and creature sounds.
Produced in collaboration with La Boissière du Doré zoo, Natur’Zoo Mervent and Legendia Parc.

  • This sound library is a collection of pistols & sidearms from Europe that were recorded at an outdoor shooting range in Sweden in August of 2024.

This library contains the fired set of vintage handguns from Germany and Italy (delivered at 96 kHz sample rate), which consists of: Smith & Wesson 66 Revolver, Luger P08, Walther GSP, Walther PP, and Beretta 92F. These sounds have been captured with the Audio-Technica AT2020 and the Shure SM57 microphones.

Thank you for checking out my library! I hope you enjoy working with these sounds as much as I enjoyed capturing and creating them. Attribution is always appreciated, but is not a requirement.

Magic Spells – Volume 01

'Magic Spells – Volume 01' by The Sound Guild is a unique sound library for creators. It features non-elemental magic sounds - whooshes, projectiles, buffs, and more - for a wider range of uses in games and media.

  • Hello Creators!

I’ve come up with my first pack: “Magic Spells – Volume 01 “

    YouTube Preview

    List of Sounds

The approach for this pack was to make some magic spells that are not the typical “fire, water, wind, earth, etc…” there’s plenty of packs like that. I wanted to create something more neutral, spells that can be used in a wide range of situations!

In the pack there are: different types of spells, projectiles, whooshes, buffs, and some extra stuff!

All this sounds were originally recorded with a Zoom H6 (cardiod microphone), and were processed in Logic Pro X with plugins like PitchMonster, MTransformer, Omnisphere, the Logic Pro X sampler. I’ve also used also plugins from Native Instruments, some plugins from Waves, some from Kilohearts, etc…

    Some considerations

    1. Keep in mind this sounds can be used in a variety of situations, I put a name to the SFX but this doesn’t mean it can’t be used in other contexts.

Check out this guide that maybe will help you

    2. The sounds are in 44.1Khz/16 bit format. I have the original files at 96khz/24bit also, if you need this format, please contact me.

  • The Master Gun Ultimax 100 Sound Effects library is recorded using a large array of various microphone configurations, we recorded shots from several distances in an open shooting range in the Nevada Desert.

    Raw Recordings

Our raw shots features a total of 20 channels including 10 Stereo sources. All of our close and mid spaced pair Microphone options can be used as two independent mono microphones. The right side of every spaced pair will have more Mech than its left side counterpart.
Every single gun has been recorded using the same gain settings on the same recorders, and we have level matched each microphone option between the same calibers so your 50ft microphones will be the same or similar across all libraries that share the same calibers. This makes mixing large amounts of weapons easier as the loudness and character of each gun is predictable.

Our foley features a total of a stereo A/B pair of Neumann KMR81i mts which are placed on both the left and right of the gun. All of the foley has been recorded at 192kHz for extreme processing workflows.

    Designed Mixes

Created from the ground up we’ve designed a collection of game-ready mixes for your next project. If you are creating your own custom weapons system and would like to use our designed mixes in your project, you can use our no-tail options which are our realistic designed mixes without our tail layers. Just drag, and drop.
