It’s quite mild for the season here in Denmark, but winter has unquestionably arrived – and of course, that calls for a highlight of some of the wintry sound libraries in the A Sound Effect catalog.
So here are four sound libraries where field recordists battled the elements and got their feet (and, presumably, every other limb) cold, so you don’t have to. You can simply stay warm in the studio with this great arsenal of winter sounds for your projects:
Just updated with three new libraries
This Winter SFX library delivers huge amounts of wintry sound effects – from lots of snow and ice sounds, winter storm ambiences to unique skiing and other winter sports sounds.
If you need some clear, clean winter ambiences, this release from Moon Echo Audio is not to be missed. It features more than an hour’s worth of recordings from the wild winters of Montana.
The team at SkewSound ventured out in the aftermath of some heavy blizzards to capture wintry footsteps, compression, breaking ice, friction, impacts, body falls and much more.
To get you some pristine, authentic snowy footsteps, field recordist Mikkel Nielsen went off to a remote Swedish forest to record this snow library, wearing various footwear such as sneakers, boots and kamiks.
In the Swedish wilderness, Mikkel also went to a frozen lake to record a a number of icy sounds. And the result? This crunchy library featuring 206 sounds of authentic ice tension, creaking, and breaking sounds.
When your project calls for some chilling winds, Sonic Salute’s new library can help you out, with its numerous long and aggressive storm ambiences recorded during some historic storm
