Medieval bread oven recorded with gusto.
Interior ambiences and isolated steady buzzes and passbys inside a beehive, including ultrasonic Sanken recordings of the interior.
This library centers mostly around the interior of the beehive: several degrees of busy ambiences, and isolated fluffy individuals bypasses and steady buzzing for long period, recorded with DPA4060s and MikroUsiPros. We even put an ultrasonic Sanken CO100K deep into the hive! The ultrasonic recordings make for fantastic design material, with roaring basses and fluttery wings. To wrap things up, we have two nice long exterior ambiences, where we set up an AB of Schoeps CMC1 MK4 as well as MikroUsiPro on top of the hive.
Heavy metal gates struck and rattled in deep large underground caverns, comes in three distinct POVs.
We went deep underground in huge caverns to hit, shake, tremble, klang and rattle the mightiest of heavy metal gates. Heavy duty thick iron doors and the likes were waiting in silence to be strongly disturbed.
Hear the thunderous metal tremors spreading through the caverns, with three different point of views : close-up with the Sanken CO-100k, pleasant realistic distance with the Schoeps MS, and a few giant steps backwards allowing the subtle Lewitt 540S stereo pair to shine in glorious natural reverb.
This library presents a vintage Gordini race car from 1947, recorded on a private race track.
We captured a full lap and a half with three onboards microphones and a Schoeps MS for the exterior pass bys.
Why a lap and a half ? Because the car broke down mid track, which made for several fantastic engine failure sounds.
Witness the powerful loud (LOUD) sound of this vintage beauty and its trumpeting exhaust from hell.
Recording setup:Onboards microphones routed to a MixPre6 :
Engine – Shure SM11
Exhaust – Shure SM11
Cockpit – DPA4061
Exterior passes recorded with a Schoeps MK4/MK8 to a Cooper CS104.
Useful Winds contains 17 decoded ms recordings of various types of wind, both interior and exterior. From a mild breeze through an Irish field to a storm gale atop of a Spanish hill, the library delivers a vast array of windy goodness. Recorded with Schoeps mk4/mk8 & SoundDevices MixPre-D.

There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
