This Source Collection captures the raw, electric character of a Tesla coil pushed through the lens of modern synthesis. A Bluetooth-enabled Tesla coil was used as a playback device straight from the source computer, turning synthesizers and generators like Serum 2, Phase Plant, and Enrage into instruments for the coil itself. Every sound was shaped, sent through the coil, and re-recorded, capturing the unpredictable crackle, snap, and arc of real electricity reacting to synthesized waveforms.
Deep modulation work and extensive wavetable design were used to coax the widest possible range of textures out of the coil, from tight aggressive zaps and buzzing arcs to sweeping electrical movements and otherworldly drones. The result is a hybrid of synthetic design and physical, electrically-driven performance that no plugin alone can replicate.
Built as a flexible sound design source pack, these recordings provide a unique foundation for sci-fi weapons, energy effects, magical impacts, and futuristic technology design.
