Product Description
Swim is a unique collection of ultra-quiet, swimmer perspective recordings and water movement recordings with rich useful metadata. Immerse yourself in lush rippling water on a quiet lake.
Imagine you are swimming in a beautiful quiet lake. All alone, bathing in the moonlight. No wind, no birds, no traffic. Just you and the sound of water rippling over the surface.
We managed to capture these subtly rippling sounds and expressive sweeps and sloshes in a natural lake on a secret location.
Recordings range from very slow careful swimming to loud thrashing feet in water. We also recorded breathing and wading in and out of the water.
This makes the sounds very versatile and useful in any context, whether it is a person, object or an animal moving through water.
The library contains a dynamic range of open water swimming recordings.
– Mr. Frick concocted an ingenious recording setup allowing him to swim and record himself.
– All sounds are pristinely recorded and are clear of other human noises.
– We also recorded various water movement gestures to supplement the swimming sounds.
– Bonus : we created 4 Soundminer Radium Patches for expressive performances in sync with picture.
The following movements and varations are in the library
Actions:
– Swimming – Breast stroke Slow, Medium, Fast
– Arm Movements – Light, Medium, Strong Intensity
– Arm Impacts – Light & Strong Intensity on water surface

Radium patches:
Since it is practically impossible to record front crawl (from a swimmers perspective) we created a radium patch to supplement the library. It is a ‘designed’ version of what we think Front Crawl sounds like from a birds-eye perspective.
We like the expressiveness of working in Radium and added three other simpler patches:
Light Water Movements, Strong Water movements and Breathing.
Because we know how important metadata is for your sound libraries we have created a consistent and intuitive description method that adheres to the Universal Category System. This allows you to find the sound you need easily, whether you work in a database like Soundminer/PT Workspace work, or a Explorer/Finder window. We made a video that helps you navigate the library and find your swim sounds faster and easier.
