Product Description
Southeast Asia Vol.2 gathers more than 7ย hours of natural soundscapes recorded across Laos and captured with a drop-rig setup (Zoom F6+2 Line Audio OM1 microphones). From dense jungle canopies and monsoon rainfall to quiet rural villages and open countryside, it offers a rich collection of authentic natural ambience for immersive sound design.
During a two-week trip to Laos in September 2025, I focused on capturing the countryโs rich natural soundscapes, from dense jungle environments to riverside villages and open countryside.
The library features night and morning jungle ambiences, suburban atmospheres, riverside recordings by day and night, the powerful sound of Kuang Si Falls, monsoon rainfall, and a wide variety of insects, with cicadas playing a particularly prominent role. A few recordings also include passing riverboats and isolated thunder during a storm.
Most of the tracks are purely natural: around eight out of ten contain no human noise at all, while only a small number retain distant human activity. This makes the collection especially useful for creating immersive backgrounds, extending ambiences and layering detailed natural textures in post-production.
The recordings were made using a drop-rig setup with a pair of Line Audio OM1 omnidirectional microphones in AB stereo configuration and connected to a Zoom F6 recorder. All files are 96 kHz/24-bit, cleaned and edited for professional use, with UCS naming and full metadata. Track lengths range from 4โ5 minutes to 15 minutes, designed for flexible use in film, television, games, and post-production.
