Product Description
Unique Kontakt instrument for percussion.
The Rum Box Drum was meticulously recorded at 24-bit / 96 kHz,
ensuring the highest possible fidelity and dynamic detail.
The percussive design of the Rum Box Drum is structured around five distinct
zones, each producing a unique character depending on the striking point
and playing technique.
These zones capture the versatility of the metallic surface, allowing
performers to sequence or improvise with a broad tonal palette.
What makes the instrument particularly expressive is the addition of two
performance modes:
• Normal Mode – The natural ringing tone of the metallic lid, where the finger
or stick is lifted immediately after striking. This mode captures the
instrument’s full resonance, producing bright, sustained metallic tones.
• Muffled Mode – A more controlled, “stomped” articulation, achieved by
leaving the finger on the surface after the strike. This technique dampens the
natural decay, resulting in a shorter, punchier sound. It brings a percussive
weight ideal for rhythmic foundations where tightness and precision are
required.
The library is organized into four distinct sections, providing a versatile workflow
for composers and producers:
*Full Drum – The complete instrument with all five zones mapped across the
keyboard, offering the full range of percussive possibilities.
*Open Back – Recorded with the can opened from the rear, this configuration
produces two distinct zones with a deeper, hollow timbre.
*Loops – A curated collection of rhythmic performances played by a
professional percussionist using the original instrument. These loops
showcase its natural groove and are ready to be integrated into any
production.
*Muffled Switch – A dedicated control to toggle between Normal and
Muffled articulations when playing the Full Drum. This feature allows
seamless real-time performance adjustments.
