Product Description
Living Tropics | Wild Habitats is a curated collection of authentic tropical field recordings, captured in the remote, biodiverse habitats of Costa Rica, Belize, and Guadeloupe. Spanning dense rainforests, expansive wetlands, tropical rivers, and secluded marshes, the library captures the rich, constantly evolving soundscapes of these natural environments.
A defining feature of the collection is its rare river and wetland recordings. Many were captured deep within protected ecosystems accessible only by boat or remote forest trails, where human presence gives way almost entirely to wildlife. Howler monkeys call across the rainforest canopy; toucans, aracaris, oropendolas, kingfishers, woodpeckers, herons, and tropical birds animate the forests and waterways, while immense choruses of frogs, cicadas, crickets, and insects fill the surrounding landscape. Subtle wingbeats, splashing wildlife, foliage movement, and shifting weather bring further depth and movement to these ambiences.
Captured in pristine 96 kHz / 24-bit using stereo and AmbiX (First-Order Ambisonics) recording techniques, the collection was carefully edited and transparently mastered to preserve the natural dynamics, depth, and spatial character of each environment.
Designed for film, television, documentaries, games, VR, immersive installations, museums, and professional sound design, Living Tropics | Wild Habitats offers a rare sonic window into protected tropical ecosystems—captured with patience, respect for the environment, and a commitment to preserving their remarkable acoustic richness.
