Product Description
BABY โ Newborn Emotions is an authentic newborn sound effects library recorded from real-life events during the first month of a babyโs life.
Captured in real residential spaces with mono and stereo perspectives, it offers realistic distance, natural room acoustics, and subtle emotional detail for film, TV, and narrative sound design.
All recordings were captured in real residential environments: a ~40 mยฒ room, a bathroom, and with true distance and inter-floor perspective. This is not a studio recreation, but a living acoustic space with natural reflections, depth, and realistic distance behavior.
The recording setup was based on two acoustic perspectives:
-Primary mono source โ the center channel of a Sennheiser MKH 418 stereo microphone, used as a precise and focused carrier of the core events.
-AB stereo pair of Schoeps CCM3 omnidirectional microphones, placed at the head of the crib to capture room acoustics, spatial depth, and natural stereo difference โ critical for cinematic sound design.
This combination allows flexible control over perspective: bringing the sound source closer or pushing it further away, repositioning it within the scene, or using pure stereo ambience without a center microphone when required by the picture.
The library includes not only pronounced emotional states such as crying and discomfort, but also subtle, non-intrusive background elements: breathing, light grunts, and sleep movement. These recordings are especially valuable for scenes without strong dramatic emphasis, where natural, unfocused acoustic presence is needed.
Additional everyday sources commonly used as background layers were also recorded:
-electric breast pump,
-motorized baby crib and its mechanical movement,
-bottle warmer and sterilizer,
-feeding sounds,
-distant crying, including recordings from another floor โ a perspective that is extremely difficult to recreate convincingly.
BABY โ Newborn Emotions is designed for film, TV series, and narrative sound design, where realism, controllable distance, and the natural acoustics of real spaces are critically important.
