AK-47

The AK47 sound effects library captures gunshots and performed effects from a Soviet gas-operated, long-stroke gas piston, rotating bolt assault rifle chambered for a 7.62×39 mm cartridge.

Developed in the 1940s as the Soviet Union’s standard service rifle, the AK-47 – also known as the Avtomat Kalashnikova, Kalashnikov, Kalash, and AK – has grown into one of the most widely produced firearms ever made. Its cracking report and instantly recognisable character have made AK-47 sound effects a go-to for FPS game audio, military documentaries, and feature films.

The package includes firing from 6 perspectives ranging from onboard the gun to 40m distant using omni, hypercardiod, XY, and MS microphones. Recorded with on-location compression, the gunshots are gathered in long “glued” or “sausage” style collated files that include multiple gunshots of single shots, short bursts, and long bursts, precisely aligned for tandem firing.

Also included are performed effects of charging, inserting and removing magazines, dry fire, scope and stock movement, safety catch movement, and more.

The package includes raw as well as a selection of ready-to-go stereo mixes (balanced, natural, heavy) with bonus multi-channel clean versions (processed with multi-band compression and noise reduction) and designed versions (with power and crunch), with easy-to-use Pro Tools and Reaper sessions.
