This collection of sounds is the perfect way to portray the barren expanse of the Sahara desert. Some of the soundscapes recorded include the lightest of desert airs. The others feature wind, from light and soft to gale force and even sand storm. Many of the daytime recordings also include flies buzzing around.
African Desert: Sahara was recorded in several locations on the border between Algeria, Libya and Niger. Reaching this part of the world was no easy task, as you can see in the second part of the teaser video.
Nathan Moody –
Another instant classic. The balance that George can strike of buffeting winds that render to the mics as they do to your ears, without the mics just being blown out, never ceases to amaze. This is a stark, quiet library, punctuated by brutal scouring sandstorms and wind gusts. Useful, usable, and artful. Can’t ask for much else.
