Airwiggles is asking its Sound Designer members to group into teams of 3, and enter a knockout-style tournament where they battle against other teams by creating cool sound design clips based on some creative and wacky prompts. The winners of each weekly battle will advance to the next round, until only one sound design team is crowned the champion!
The prizes:
The winning team will receive 3x buyouts of Boom One: over 199,000 sounds from our sponsors, BOOM Library, valued at over €10,000! That’s over 850GB of BOOM Library sound effects that you can keep forever.
Duration and how it works:
Each round lasts 1 week. Teams will be assigned a prompt to create a short audio-only sound design clip for – something like “an elemental space gun” or “god of the sea summoning an army of killer whales”. Teams will then have until the end of the week to submit a .wav to the organisers, before the entries are judged live on Youtube to decide who will progress to the next round!
The contest will start on February 2nd 2026, and will last a maximum of 4 weeks. Will you be the lucky team to make it all the way?

You’ll need to find 2 friends, colleagues, or strangers to enter with! When you have your team members, you must come up with a team name and slogan, and then complete the above form. The Airwiggles team will then announce the selected teams at www.airwiggles.com/showdown and let you know everything you’ll need to know!
There will be a cap on the number of teams, so make sure to get in quick as otherwise you might miss out on a place in the bracket!
