There are quite a few water sound effect libraries out there – but Water Rush, a new release from Frederic Devanlay and Cedric Denooz at Red Libraries takes a very novel approach.

Need the sounds of people in water? Then Water Rush is for you

Instead of venturing out to record streams, brooks, the ocean etc, they enlisted the help of no fewer than 30 swimmers. With them, they recorded dives, swimming, walking, running and lots of different types of movement in water, capturing both solo and group takes. The library also features multiple microphones positions, including ambient hydrophones for underwater recordings.

This gives them – and ultimately, you – unique control of the sounds. Check out the demo below, and grab the full Water Rush library, with its 110 minutes of water recordings, here.
