Pursuit Sound

  • A car or a spaceship?

Introducing the “Cupra BORN Sound Library” – an electrifying collection of premium sound effects specifically captured to fit your project. This vehicle has a futuristic humming sound with multiple sonic layers. We recorded the audio of the car with 2 different stereo setups along with tyre noise, motor sound and interior giving you complete editing flexibility.

The library consists of a wide variety of both onboard and exterior sounds. We recorded exterior pass-bys at various speeds, arrivals, and takeoffs. An extensive amount of onboards, driving at very slow paces with both steady and varying speeds, city driving, higher speeds, various accelerations and decelerations at various paces. The library offers over 12GB of sound in total.

All of the takes have labelled ISO tracks and a mix for each take for your convenience. Sounds captured at 24bit/96khz and have embedded UCS-compliant metadata. Enjoy.

  • Jaguar iPace – An electric SUV designed by Ian Callum, launched in 2018. This is the first fully electric car created by Jaguar. The sound of the car or what Jaguar calls an “acoustic alert system” was designed ahead of legislation requiring all-electric vehicles to emit an exterior sound to notify pedestrians of its presence.

The library consists of a wide variety of both onboard and exterior sounds. We recorded foley of doors, knobs, locking mechanisms etc. Exterior pass-bys at various speeds, arrivals, and takeoffs. An extensive amount of onboards, driving at very slow paces with both steady and varying speeds, city driving, higher speeds, various accelerations and decelerations at various paces. The library offers 19.5GB of sound in total.

The way car sound is set up is it’s emitting a tone through exterior speakers at speeds up to 30mph, which then fades away while starting to feed an interesting tone through interior speakers to compliment the feeling of acceleration for the driver and passengers.

All of the sounds have labelled ISO tracks and also a mix for each take for your convenience. Sounds captured at 24bit/96khz. Enjoy.

  • Crickets. A lot of crickets. It was quite a deafening experience recording this.

I’ve captured increments with a handheld ORTF pair of Sennheiser 8040s on a boom pole pointing at the loudest sound source and then switched to 2 DPA 4060s that recorded throughout the night. This offered a bit of variation in the intensity of sound and quantity of crickets performing for you that night. You can hear occasional tropical birds towards the morning.

The library offers around 6 hours of audio and I’ve also cut below 1.7 kHz & 4 kHz to offer a bit more isolation for crickets. This is done on separate takes as an option.

  • A mini library of Maldivian fruit bats (aka flying foxes) vocalising and screaming their soul out during the early hours. The sound is a very distinct scream captured in 96kHz mostly with Sennheiser 8060 shotgun fully extended and pointed at the source. In the SoundCloud preview, you can hear sound pitched down by 3 octaves, which is quite terrifying.

The recording was done on an island, few takes have background noise of the ocean, which was lowered by applying EQ and RX9. These are included as separate files along with the originals.

  • This is a sound library of an electric Volkswagen ID4 SUV.

The library has 99 audio takes of onboard audio covering a wide variety of sounds, any variation this car can do while outputting audio via an inbuilt speakers system. This includes accelerations of various intensities, variations of deceleration, continuous driving, emergency braking and throttle variations.

The audio was captured by micing up the speaker of the SUV but also has takes with an additional microphone next to the motor in the back of the vehicle.

  • This is a sound library of an electric Hyundai IONIQ 5.

The library has 74 audio takes of onboard audio covering a wide variety of sounds, any variation this car can do while outputting audio via an inbuilt speakers system. This includes accelerations of various intensities, variations of deceleration, continuous driving, emergency braking and throttle variations.

The audio was captured by micing up the speaker of the vehicle but also has takes with an additional microphone next to the motor in the back of the vehicle. Enjoy.

  • Car Sound Effects 2018 Camaro ZL1 Play Track 98 sounds included, 140 mins total $120

This is a sound library of an American 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 race sports muscle car, with a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 engine that produces 777 horsepowers.

The car has the following modifications:

Ported throttle body, ported supercharger, water/methanol injection system, upgraded air intake system, bespoke exhaust line, shorter springs. This results in an additional 127 bhp from a standard of 650.

The recording was done during the vehicle’s performance test session. The car was rigged with 3 DPA 4062’s for exhaust sound and 3 DPA 4061’s for the engine’s audio and a stereo array of DPA 4060’s for the interior.

The library has over 100 minutes of onboard audio covering a wide variety of sounds. This includes full-speed runs, slow and cool-down laps, drifting sessions, take-offs with launch control, arrival and takeoffs.

Passbys were captured by both stereo and mono field-based setups yielding a wide variety of sounds such as takeoffs,  full, medium and slow speed passbys, passes mid-drifting and burnouts. Library also contains some natural tyre squealing and the sound of the car passing over the curbs at high speed.

The car also had a stereo setup installed within the interior produced limiting results due to frequent radio chatter. What was usable is edited alongside the onboard. Enjoy!

  • The library was recorded during the flying session of a 78-cc 2-stroke engine-powered paramotor. We were lucky with the weather and with the absence of the wind.

The vehicle had 2 Dpa 4061’s microphones placed one in the back near the engine, the other channel was hidden on the lower left side. This configuration of microphones flew 4 sessions until switching to recording one microphone placed on the engine for the last two sessions. Both channels were recorded by Audio Limited A10 recorders while performing various maneuvers totaling over 37 minutes of air time. On the ground I used Sennheiser 8060 to capture vehicle’s starts, idling, passes, and landings. The library has both close and distant perspectives of flybys.

  • Car Sound Effects Ferrari F8 Tributo Play Track 84 sounds included, 117 mins total $120

This is a sound library of a Ferrari F8 Tributo mid-rear-engined supercar with a 3.9 L twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces 710 horsepowers, outputting 770Nm of torque. It has the most powerful Ferrari-produced engine to date (as of Jan 2022).

The recording was done during the vehicle’s performance test session. The majority of the onboards cover engine and exhaust sounds with Dpa 4062 installed on exhaust and Dpa 4061 placed within the engine compartment. The library has over 100 minutes of Ferrari’s onboard audio covering a wide variety of sounds when the car was on track. This includes full-speed runs, slow and cool-down laps, drifting sessions, take-offs with launch control, and donuts.

Passbys were captured by both stereo and mono field-based setups yielding a wide variety of sounds such as takeoffs, full, medium and slow speed passbys, passes mid-drifting, burnouts and interesting takes attempting to send the Ferrari into drifting. Library also contains some natural tyre squealing and the sound of the car passing over the curbs at high speed.

The car also had a stereo setup installed within the interior produced limiting results due to frequent radio chatter.  What was usable is edited alongside the onboards.

  • City Life Sound Effects British Sirens Play Track 48 sounds included, 12 mins total $25

This library consists of sounds of authentic British sirens recorded during a 3 month period in London including while in Covid-19 lockdown.
