Using 3 unique microphones and perspectives, this collection was recorded to give 4 alternate takes of the same telephone. Described as ‘Modern’ ‘Retro’ & ‘Room’, each take is designed to better fit within your scene, all while still being a clear and detailed account of each unique telephone.

‘Modern’ takes were recorded using a Sennheiser MKH50 small diaphragm microphone.

‘Retro’ takes were recorded using a Electro-Voice RE16 dynamic microphone.

‘Room’ takes were recorded using a AKG C414 large diaphragm microphone at a distance of 12 feet from the source, off axis.

In addition, there is a bonus 4^th take, recorded via a tape recorder and manipulated by hand while recording, designed to be a slightly exaggerated reflection of how we recall ringing telephones on old film or television programs.
