New sound effects: Old laundry mills & computers, wind turbines, abstract ambiences – and energy sounds

Detunized has released yet another interesting and unique sound library from a device that you'd have a hard time finding and an even harder time thinking to record in the first place. 'Laundry Mangles' is a collection of sounds from vintage laundry mills that look more like torture devices. These machines creak, pound, whirl, and spin with their wood and metal crank shafts and belt drives as they run through their full cycles, idling and more. This two-hour library even contains the sounds of five different models — who knew five even existed! For the sounds of early human innovation for solely human needs, check out this library.

From the team that brought you 'Future Weapons' and 'Future Weapons 2' comes 'Energy', a large collection of over 600 energy sounds for all your electric game sound needs. Masterly crafted by SoundMorph, this library contains energy loops, neutron and particle sounds, sparks, zaps, impacts, energy weapons, whooshes, passbys, ambiences, hums, buzzes, and power-ups and power-downs. These sounds can voice your barrier fields, night goggles, hydrogen batteries, armor, weapons, generators, spells and more for a complete, mastered soundscape. If your game features the sound of electric war, this is the library for you.

'Wind Turbine' by Norsonant features various intensities, whines, and positions inside this energy-generating machine. With nearly a half hour of content, this library contains high and low intensities as well as transitions and full-length recordings. The sounds were recorded at 192 kHz, offering plenty of flexibility for pitch and time-shifting to voice everything from small radios to dark droning winds from another planet. For physical drones that can add a realistic sound to your ambiences, check out this library.

'Abstract Ambiences' is a collaborated library from the masters of atmospheres SoundBits and Monte Sound. This is a massive collection of ambiences belonging to several genres—alien worlds, sci-fi horror, disturbing noises, dark drones, eerie textures, dungeon ambiences and more. Each file is two and a half minutes and perfectly balanced for easy integration into your game. With 60 stereo and surround ambiences and a construction-kit with over 250 layers and stems, you will be able to build your own combinations and tweak them to fit your project.

'ACM(E)' by Unidentified Sound Object is a small sound pack for the classic Mac fan. This library features the Macintosh Classic, Power Macintosh models 4400, 6400, 7200, and the Mac G4 and LC 475. It includes the distinct mechanical noises, and hard drives whirring and spinning. For sounds of your favorite computers from the 90s, this one's for you.
