The Soundcatcher

The Soundcatcher is recording unique sfx and sfx packs for sounddesigner and media producers.

  • The “Seismic Activities” sound archive contains over 2500 different noises from vibrations, shocks and their resonances. We have taken the trouble to use a set-up of different natural sounds, such as frequency drops, thunder or the sound of deep rumbling, to control two structure-borne sound transducers.

The “Seismic Activities” sound archive contains over 2500 different noises from vibrations, shocks, and their resonances.
We have taken the trouble to use a set-up of different natural sounds, such as frequency drops, thunder, or the sound of deep rumbling, to control two structure-borne sound transducers. We have installed these converters in various locations. For example, we were at a company that produces large roller doors. There we shook all sorts of pipes, high racks, tool cabinets, gates, and the like.
In addition, we worked with many household items to create a variety of sound structures, which should make the use of “seismic activities” particularly diverse.
Almost all of the sounds were generated from a multi-channel set-up made up of Sennheiser MKH80 (ORTF), DPA 4060 (AB) and a Sony DR100. So you can expect the best sound quality. As always, a Sounddevices 744T and a Mixpre were used as recording devices.
As always, all files come with burned in metadata in open standards like iXml, BWAV, ID3 Chunk.

  • Paper Sound Effects Paperlife Play Track 1300+ sounds included, 110 mins total $70

Paperlife contains a huge variety of different paper and cardboard sound effects. We folded, ripped, rustled, crackled, swished, whooshed, flapped, turned, threw, sizzled paper and cardbord to create this library.

Beside the massive amount of unusual sounds we also took care about usability and created “every day” paper sound effects and handling noises for out-of-the-box use.

As always, all files come with burned in metadata in open standards.

  • Industrial Ambiences Antique Mills Play Track 65 sounds included, 77 mins total From: $60

Get the sounds of an ancient water spelt mill from 1529, as well as an antique tannery, also driven by a huge water wheel from 1699.

Both mills have been working for hundreds of years and continue to work even today.

This library is recorded in high resolution audio in 24Bit/96kHz on a Sound Devices 702T with Sennheiser 8040 Mics in Mono or ORTF Stereo.

  • Mechanical Sound Effects Electric Cash Register Play Track 1000+ sounds included, 21 mins total $35

We came across an old Sanyo Cash register which was still working – so we went all-in and recorded it. We used two Sennheiser MKH8040 and a DPA 4060 to get a variety of buttons, switches, and printing noises. They all cover different and unique perspectives.

  • Get the sounds of 13 different coffee and herbal grinders. These small wooden and metal devices give grainy textures to any material + they sound really funny at times, and can be used as sweetener for funny toy sounds. Due to the recordings with a piezzo disc, they have a lot of deep and rumbling content. The other mics were the Neumann TLM 102, The DPA 4060 and the amazing Sennheiser MKH 8040. They all cover different and unique perspectives.

All Sounds are always packed with rich iXML Metadata.

  • Cloth and Fabric Sound Effects Cloth Play Track 340+ sounds included From: $45

The Cloth sound effects library is dedicated to cloth and textile movement sound effects.

It features a wide range of different materials being handled, such as backpacks, pillows, sheets, leather belts and jackets, table cloths, shirts, canvases, gloves, rain jackets, chinos, jeans, pullovers and much more.

The Cloth SFX library was recorded using a highly sensitive Sennheiser MKH8040 microphone and a Sounddevices 702t recorder with ultra low noise preamps, to capture the sometimes subtle nuances these materials produce.

  • Hum, Buzz & Glitch Sound Effects Analog TV Play Track 99 sounds included, 50 mins total From: $19

Analog TV gets you 99 recordings from the Tele Star 4004 TV, built in the 80s in Leningrad/Russia. The collection features everything from a range of noises, frequency glitches, short pulses, and long frequency sweeps in the VHF and UHF bands. It also comes with a good collection of different static noises and really weird stuff that could – and just might – come from outer space.

  • The Elevators library was recorded over a period of one year, and comes with over 100 movement and metal impacts from elevators, around 50 elevator cab travels and over 60 elevator door slides and variations.

  • Here you´ll get 365 sound effects in one big package: You get all kind of SFX, ambiences, Foley sounds, music loops, stingers, audio logos, impacts, shots, hits, swishes, swooshes, shots, breaks, debris … and a lot other strange sounds for your next media projects.

  • Drones & Mood Sound Effects LiquidMetal – Waterphone Play Track 263 sounds included $71

The LiquidMetal – Waterphone SFX pack contains a lot of great material for your next deep impact horror project, when you need eerie, suspenseful and deep sounds that bring the fear out in you and your audience.

We hit, rattled, bowed, snaped and swashed the real Waterphone – a unique instrument – for really formidable sounds.

  • The Soundcatcher visited an old abandoned theatre and recorded “The Glas Smash Sessions“. It contains a lot of great material for your next smash project where you need massive impacts and splintering sound effects.

  • Print Shop is a SFX & Ambiance pack containing a lot of great material from a big industrial print shop. The Soundcatcher recorded 4 different printing machines, Print Shop Ambiances in ORTF and a lot of really nice subsonic stuff with two contact microphones. As always, all sounds are tagged with Soundminer friendly metadata and the pack comes in 4 different sizes and qualities.

  • The Soundcatcher is proud to announce a new sound design library called “Desolated Strings & Wood“. The found Markneunkirchen Zither from Wernitzgruen was in a very poor condition. I collected it and wrecked it like there was no tomorrow.

You´ll get 272 stereo files (1.48GB total), tagged for trouble-free use in your favorite database program and carefully mastered in 24Bit/96kHz.

  • We recorded an old abandoned school and gained a lot of nice and very unique sound fx for your next sounddesign project. You’ll get up to 1.26 GB / 172 mono & stereo files, tagged (for trouble free use in your loved data base program) and carefully mastered in 24Bit/96kHz.
