Vibrations Bowed Materials 1 is a construction kit library composed of various plastic, metal and paper materials vibrated with a cello bow! These sounds are meant to be manipulated and mangled to oblivion for further creative purposes. These sounds are highly flexible and can easily be pitch-shifted -48 semitones or more. They remain remarkably useful and clean giving each sound multiple “dimensions”.
I’ve found particularly strong potential in using these for creature sound design. One of the metal props recorded was also used to produce my Electric Arcs and Energy designed sound library. The array of how they could be used or transformed is quite possibly endless!
Great care was taken during the recording and editing process to ensure maximum flexibility of these sounds. The recording was done at 24 Bit / 192 kHz using the Sennheiser MKH 8050 mic which captures frequencies up to 50kHz. Any processing or editing was then performed at 192kHz.
Includes Forge/Reaktor Sample Maps
7 Different Bowed Metal Prop Recordings
6 Different Bowed Paper Prop Recordings
7 Different Bowed Plastic Prop Recordings
1000 sounds total
If you own the Forge Sound Design Toolkit this library also comes with a specially curated sample map. The sample map can be loaded into the sampler for randomization and the creation of more complex sounds.
This library is a small “utility” collection of sounds great for use as Robot/Machines but also great for UI and Weapon design elements. Servos, various metal objects and analog synths were recorded as source material to create this library. The library includes raw servo recordings and meticulously performed or designed robotic/machine-like sounds.
If you own the Forge Sound Design Toolkit this library also comes with a specially curated sample map. The sample map can be loaded into the sampler for randomization and the creation of more complex sounds.
Electric Arcs and Energy is essentially two separate collections of sounds. The first, Electrical Arcs are more raw. These arc sounds can be manipulated and mangled to be used as design elements in your project. They are highly flexible and can easily be pitch-shifted -48 semitones or more. They remain remarkably useful and clean giving each sound multiple “dimensions”.
The Electrical Energy collection is a series of more specified design elements that I created – Impacts and Powerups. Meant to be used in Weapon or UI design they should be flexible enough to be used as stand-alone effects or layers in more complex sounds.
This library was designed from scratch by recording highly unconventional metal sources with a cello bow and processing them (see one example in video). Great care was taken during the recording and editing process to ensure maximum flexibility of these sounds. The recording was done at 24/192kHz using the Sennheiser MKH 2050 mic which captures frequencies up to 50kHz. All processing and design was then performed at 192kHz.
If you own the Forge Sound Design Toolkit this library also comes with a specially curated sample map. The sample map can be loaded into the sampler for randomization and the creation of more complex sounds.
This library of drones was carefully crafted from a variety of analog sources such as modular synthesizers, natural ambiences and electromagnetic recordings of many different devices.
Every one of these recordings were painstakingly performed. Many parameters were manipulated in real time to create an evolving texture that has a true sense of life and uniqueness to it.
A true labor of love, I had a blast putting this one together!
Seamlessly Looping Shepard Tones (Rising and Falling Pitches)
Quick Risers
Pre-Pitch-Processed Drones
Small Cave Ambiences / Big Wave Crashes / Coquina Rock Hits
If you’re in need of an Ocean/Beach library, this is it. The library covers a range of material from small enclosed spaces with the sound of distant waves droning to massive waves crashing against the coquina rock.
Although it is, in essence, an ambience library I recorded and edited material for maximum flexibility for further sound design capabilities.
The library was recorded over a period of 4-weekend trips to Washington Oaks State Park near Flagler Beach, FL.

Bonus Forge / Reaktor Sample Maps Also Included
This bundle includes our popular Metal source material library and ALL future derived sound design libraries from Metal Hits, Scrapes & Squeaks. The first derived library is Metal Souls.
The Metal Forge ensemble included is a simplified version of our Forge ensemble. It comes pre-loaded with various Metal samples for the ability to quickly create new sounds from the provided material.
Metal Souls
I spent a great deal of time exploring pitch manipulation with this library. Much of it relied on rendered processing to acquire the aesthetic that I wanted. My vision was to make something ethereal and vocal but also a bit vague.
Metal Hits, Scrapes & Squeaks
Props include objects such as sheet metal, sledgehammers, paint cans, metal buckets, metal grating, metal marbles, cups, pots and pans, dry ice (contributing squeaks and squeals), metal bars, metal stands, chains and more.
This library was derived entirely from material collected in the Metal Hits, Scrapes and Squeaks library. Each sound was meticulously crafted by hours of experimenting with different processing techniques. I created this library for fun and to in part showcase the flexibility of my metal recordings.
I spent a great deal of time exploring pitch manipulation with this library. Much of it relied on rendered processing to acquire the aesthetic that I wanted. My vision was to make something ethereal and vocal but also a bit vague.
I believe this library will provide excellent source material for a wide variety of applications. Both as stand-alone effects or layered in with other libraries/sounds to help create a dark/spooky aesthetic.
This library includes a series of cinematic and basic whoosh, movement and transition effects. It also includes a number of impactful drops.
What makes this library unique is the varied amount of content and processing techniques used to create the movement effects. Some effects are created totally organically, others manufactured with analog synths and others creatively processed from nothing other than atonal noise.
Another great quality of these effects is a natural doppler effect is often incorporated. This was done by re-recording some source elements and either moving the source or the mic itself.
A slim library, of 127 sounds – it feels much larger in the amount of varied content that it includes. This library is one I’ve personally used a lot and I’m very happy to bring it to you now!

This library includes a series of UI button, interface and user action sounds perfect for use in your next game or app.
While interface libraries are certainly not uncommon, and you’re likely to have plenty in your arsenal already – this one is unique in that it was built meticulously and slowly over the course of a year. Because of this, much of the source material and processes used vary greatly!

Forge is a randomization and sample layering tool. It’s capable of creating quick iterations of single sound samples or using multiple sound samples to create more advanced iterations/combinations. It comes pre-loaded with 100 samples selected from our available sound libraries.
The complete Sound Design Toolkit comes with 7 unique libraries with over 800 sounds total. Reaktor 6 or Reaktor Player 6 is required to use the ensemble tool. The collection of 7 libraries can be used on it’s own with no reliance on Reaktor.
Libraries Include:
The Reaktor ensemble was created in Reaktor Version 6.2.2 and as such you will need at least this version or higher to open it.
“Forge is great when you find yourself with one sound and think “I really wish I had more versions of this.” With the ability to do random layers its a fun and inspirational time-saving tool!

The Gore library contains 257 total sounds of squishes, smashes, squelches melee weapon attacks, zombies and more. All effects have been thoughtfully named and crafted into multiple variations making them extremely flexible and easy to use. This library will work well if you need ready to use sounds for your game or if you’re a sound editor needing some extra material for your latest project. Sounds are well rounded and simple enough to fit Sci-Fi, Horror, Fantasy and any other genre where you might need some blood and guts.
Sound types include:
The Forest Ambience 1 library focuses on the ambient sounds of Central Florida’s forest ecology. The focus of this library is a collection of as much general background ambience as possible with minimal focus on any one individual element. It also focuses on a Mid Day – Early Dusk time frame.
The range of ambiences include windy gusts through thick canopies, forests alive with birds and bugs, and erie dead silences void of any life recorded near one of the nation’s largest active bombing ranges. Also included are a few plane flyovers and some outdoor trail ambience near an apartment complex as a bonus.
Captured in environments such as:
• Bottomland hardwoods
• Pine Flatwoods
• Scrub
• Upland hardwoods
• Urban nature trail
The Boom, Crackle and Scream library is the first in a planned series of Glitch Factory mini libraries. This library uses sounds recorded of Fireworks ranging from large booms to small sparklers and mangles them into interesting textures in varying degrees.
The sounds have been manipulated using analog synthesizers, custom Reaktor instruments and other types of granular processing. They will work well for Sci-Fi weapon layers, user interface sounds and more.
The Magic Spells, Buffs and Attacks library contains 507 total spell sounds. Each spell type has been thoughtfully named and crafted into multiple variations making them extremely flexible and easy to use. This library will work great for MMOs, RPGs and other fantasy style games. Of course, it will be great for film or any other form of media also! Many of these sounds are also well suited for Sci-Fi or Futuristic applications.
Bonus Reaktor Ensemble:
As if the sounds alone weren’t enough, we’re also including a special bonus in the form of a Native Instruments Reaktor Ensemble. We call it “The Mage”.. it is designed to allow you to take spell types, mash them together and create endless new iterations of material!
This small library contains 23 unique ambience tracks recorded in the Central Florida area. The nature ambiences range from forests to oceans in both the night time and during the day. Urban ambiences range from industrial warehouse settings, to small city parks and parking garages. One particularly unique track included is a recording from inside a home during hurricane Irma.
Overall, This collection covers a lot of ground for 23 tracks. Each track contained is fairly unique within the set.
The Ambisonic Airplanes Cessna 172 library, is a small library procured from a single short flight. The recordings were made from the rear passenger seat positioned as close as possible to the middle of the aircraft. The front of the Ambisonic microphone faced the cockpit. The flight was recorded in it’s entirety and edited down for easier use.
Types of recordings include idling, flying, flying with windows open, taxiing, taxiing with windows open, engine turning on, engine turning off, plane during takeoff, plane during landing, plane engine test (1700 RPM test) and more.
The library was recorded using a Sennheiser Ambeo VR Microphone onto a Sound Devices MixPre 6. The library has a fairly large size because we have conveniently provided 4 versions of the same files to make it easier and more flexible to use. Included you will find B-Format wav files (FuMa and AmbiX) A-Format raw wav files and a Binaural stereo mix down. The library includes a total of 17 unique files and 68 total files.
Information on the Cessna 172 from Wikipedia:The Cessna 172 Skyhawk is an American four-seat, single-engine, high wing, fixed-wing aircraft made by the Cessna Aircraft Company. First flown in 1955, more 172s have been built than any other aircraft.
Measured by its longevity and popularity, the Cessna 172 is the most successful aircraft in history. Cessna delivered the first production model in 1956 and as of 2015, the company and its partners had built more than 44,000. The aircraft remains in production today.
This library contains a large variety of ambiences and drones that stylized as industrial or science fiction. All of these files are derived from on location recording sites and carefully edited and crafted to create a large variety of unique sonic textures. Source material ranges from large industrial buildings, parking garages, utility rooms, air condition unites, fans, buzzing electrical components, analog synthesizers etc.
The Metal Hits, Scrapes and Squeaks library contains a variety of small to medium sized metal props with each material type including multiple performance variations.
Props include objects such as sheet metal, sledgehammers, paint cans, metal buckets, metal grating, metal marbles, cups, pots and pans, dry ice (contributing squeaks and squeals), metal bars, metal stands, chains and more.
All recordings were made in a studio or iso booth environment to produce a very clean sounding library. The library works perfectly as a construction or foley kit. Files included were recorded at 24bit/96kHz.
This library was built primarily using two different modular synthesizer systems. One based on the Korg MS-20 and the other based on the Pittsburgh Modular Lifeforms 201. Included in this library you will find various one shots and hits alongside longer evolving textures and drones. The library was created in a very non-musical way and as such most of what you hear is noisy, gritty and a-tonal. The library can be used effectively for Sci-Fi Weapons, User Interfaces, Droids and Robots, Ambient Textures and many more possibilities.
With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
