I set up the shop to post my first sfx library, a regular Copenhagen metro bus. I am originally from Houston, Texas and relocated to Copenhagen. I hope to build an extensive library that others can use in the future! I work a lot on short fiction and documentary films.
The BMW K100 rs Motorcycle library was recorded by placing 2 dpa 4060s on the engine, and two ME4 on the bike itself.
I then used a pair of cm3s to catch drive bys, and a few takes of driving with the boom pointed at the muffler while riding.
It contains wild foley of clicks and gear changes and sound of engine servo before ignition starts.
It is straight forward and has many different varieties so that you will be able to us it for all of your applications. Feel free to inquire about special sounds or takes before you buy here.
Basic metro bus found in Copenhagen, Denmark. The library contains recordings of horns, ignition starts, idols, drive offs, turning, drive by on wet pavement, multiple interior perspectives with and without people, clicks, buttons, voice announcement, travel card check in, check out sounds, route stop chime, basic foley, backing up, and engine whirrs. Download the sounds list to see a full list!
I have recorded 6 different fluorescent bulb lamps in an industrial warehouse with two close mic'd dpa 4060 in each that I then edited into 30 stereo files (about 5 takes of each with different lengths). Excellent for all of your warehouse, slum, industrial sound and ambience needs. Check out the video, or email before buying if you feel like it! Enjoy.
This library features recordings made from a Laurin Koster 32ft 4 cylinder engine Sailboat.
This library contains docked harbor ambiences while windy and calm, water movements, sail foley, engine ignition starts and cut offs, multiple different RPMs while taxiing out of the harbor, sailing, on-deck atmospheres from different perspectives and contact mic recordings of different unique sounds of the sailboat. Contains everything you need to construct a film, game or commercial from a sailboat’s perspective.
Recorded for a short film on a rainy day in Copenhagen, this is a 1985 Mercedes 200e 4 Cylinder sedan (previously advertised as 6 cylinder, but thanks to a fellow sound recordist my error has been corrected). There are a hand full of 5/6 minute takes with onboard engine sounds. Ignition starts, stops, different engine revs, interior driving ambiences with light rain, pass bys, a couple of horn honk doppler pass bys, pass bys at different speeds, and extensive seat creaks and squeaks, along with basic doors, idols etc. Also included is two inpulse responses with 3 passengers and 0 passengers for you to load into your IR plug-in. Take a look at the metadata sheet for more info. If you have special inquiries, please send me an email first at email@example.com
I took out a MZ TS150 2 stroke Motorcycle and recorded approaches, departures, pass bys, circling in a grass parking lot, engine revs, idoling, etc.
I recorded this library with 2x dpa 4060s, 2x ME2, an sm57, sennheiser 416 and a pair of cm3s recorded in an xy pattern. I set up the cm3s on a mic stand, and followed the action with the 416, with 5 onboard microphones capturing sounds on the bike as well.
In the 179 files, there are 8 syncable takes of pass by's at different rpms with the onboards and 2 different exterior perspectives. Everything has been labeled in Soundly with metadata.
You will find what you need to cover any small 2 stroke engine motorcycle in here. With purchase, I offer you to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will send you the protools session that has the sync'd files and original audio if you would like even more coverage of individual microphones (if that is something you are into). Feel free to email me with any inquiries before purchase.
A variety of Raven vocal sounds recorded around a Greenlandic dog pen. Includes multiple 1-5 minute files as well as short isolated honks, squawks, calls, clips, and purrs. Recorded with 2x Sennheiser 8040 in a Cinela ORTF blimp on a straight microphone stand with a Mixpre – 3 at 24b/96k
This library contains 17 different trains as they pass through the station, arrive and depart a rural station in Sweden. Trains include double decker passanger trains, local metro passanger trains, and few heavy freight train passes. They were recorded with two 4060s on the tracks with a mkh60 following, they are syncable.
These have a nice isolated stereo image and great for sound designing space ships and sci fi stuff. Also work Wonderfully for transition elements and corporate video introductions. Feel free to inquire before buying here.
This is a sfx library of a classic wooden roller coaster built in 1932 that is in operation at Bakken theme park in Klampenborg, Denmark. It was recorded in 5 takes with four onboard microphones, multiple stereo rigs placed around the track and a 4 channel sps200 ambeo microphone placed in the middle of the coaster for the first two takes, above the cart in the station for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th takes, and the last take underneath the photobooth hill next to the station.
Sounds included are hill pass-bys, climbing, large bank turn, driving through tunnel, onboard sounds, and 4 channel atmos recording.
This is a great library for designing trains, subways, future machines, and of course, roller coasters. All are recordings contain no park patrons while the park was closed. On one or two of the recordings (while the cart is off mic ) has some light construction noise from park cleaners, this does not affect the usable and editable coaster sounds. I have included a few cut plane by’s and atmospheres that were picked up in-between takes.
If you are curious if a certain sound will work for you please send me a message at email@example.com
Wooden Roller Coaster was recorded with Sound Devices 788, Mixpre3, Zoom H4,H5,H6 with a variety of microphones from DPA, Sennheiser, Line Audio, Soundfield and with wind protection from Bubblebee Industries, Rycote and Cinela.
With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
