Immersive FX

  • A selection of thunder and storm effects, recorded in London, United Kingdom. Complete storms, long-form sequences, claps & rumbles.

A cornucopia of thunder and rain, recorded in a city location, with six complete storms, from start to end, three long-form sequences and individual rumbles and claps. Over 8GB of material, from distant rolls to close-up claps, building storms, torrential rain and ominous rumbles, you’re sure to find that something amazing for your city storm scenario.

46 stereo files at 96/24, with full Soundminer Metadata and UCS data.

  • Sixty five tracks of passing traffic: cars, vans and trucks, slow and fast, single passes, groups, a few from a small racetrack, dry roads, damp roads, lonely roads and crowded roads and one manic traffic jam from Manhattan’s Chintatown that’s worth the price of admission on its own. Locations include London, Dublin, Arnhem and New York.

  • 170 sounds of Clocks & Bells, striking, chiming, and ticking.

No longer do you need to fall back on those old BBC recordings of Cambridge College clock chimes with this vast collection of chiming clocks from various obscure churches throughout the UK, many with sets of quarter-hour chimes, with one and twelve hour strikes. Added to that, there are two beautiful 18th century chiming mantle clocks, a couple of sweet carillons and clocks from Amsterdam, Greek Orthodox Church bells from a small island and some distinctly dodgy bell ringing practice from a couple of English churches. Throw in some domestic clocks ticking and chiming and one very snappy cuckoo clock, and you have a collection that should serve most of your clock-related needs.

170 files, some at 48/24 and some at 96/24, representing many years of collecting these sounds from analog tape, DAT and the latest recording technology.

  • A selection of creaks, doors and window sounds from two very different properties.

Doors & Windows: comprises a selection of effects from two very different dwellings in Edinburgh, Scotland. The first, a solid Victorian villa in the Morningside district: wooden shutters on a large sash window and a variety of solid wooden doors opening and closing. 32effects at 96/24. The second, a run-down apartment at the top of a tenement building on the wrong side of town: flimsy doors, creaking as they open, an old-fashioned bell pull, a letterbox flap and a front door with a creak that wouldn’t be out of place in a haunted mansion. 22 effects at 48/24.

  • A collection of sounds from a wide variety of toilets: chain, lever, push-button, pressure valve flushes along with tank fills, dry pulls and false starts.

Toilets – they’re all the same, aren’t they? This latest library form ImmersiveFX goes down the pan to prove that’s not the case. Seventy effects of toilets from stately homes, to hotels and hovels. Clanky tanks, stuttering sluices, watery whooshes, flowery flushes and more.

  • Weather Sound Effects A Touch Of Wind Play Track 24 sounds included, 137 mins total $30

A collection of winds in various circumstances: interiors and exteriors, through gaps in windows and doors, battering windows, roaring in chimneys, whining through wires and rattling shutters and leaves.

  • Vintage Trams: passes and rides from a number of perspectives.

The bygone sounds of rattly old trams, passing in the street: the rumble of the metal wheels on the tracks, the sound of the pickup rods on the overhead wires, the clang of the bell and the voice of the conductor, all of these are here for your delight. Starts and stops, rides and passes, all lovingly collected in First Order Ambisonic surround and collated in FuMa & ambiX orders and weighting. Full Soundminer metadata and Excel Spreadsheet included.

And there’s more! A bonus collection of sounds in stereo from my extensive archive, with a ride on a San Francisco cable car, more vintage trams and a series of recordings of a Trolley Bus, an electrically powered bus running form overhead cables, but so quiet in operation, it was known as ‘the silent killer’ as pedestrians tended not to be aware when it was approaching.

  • Vintage automobiles passing singly and in groups, from the earliest part of the 20th century. Perfect for those traffic backgrounds in your period production. Hundreds of vehicles, none dated later than 1910, passing at various speeds, and in various configurations and at various lengths. Captured in First Order Ambisonic and available n both FuMa and ambiX order and weighting.

  • These effects were recorded in a Victorian Town House in London, England. The house has been pretty much preserved from the day when its first owner died, with the original furniture, decorations and facilities.

Now a museum, I was granted access for a couple of hours one morning and I went from the basement to the top floor, recording the various doorbells and servants bells along with some of the old and heavy wooden doors. The bells are connected to various parts of the house by wires that run under the floorboards and are operated by a bell pull or handle in the rooms and at the front and rear doors of the house.

There are eight different bells, five in the basement and three in the attic rooms, all recorded at different lengths and intensities, a dinner gong and six doors, with openings and closings of different intensities. There are 111 effects in all, recorded at 96/24 Later that year, I stayed in an old tenement house in Edinburgh, Scotland, where almost every door creaked wonderfully.

These effects were recorded at 48/24 and are included as a bonus to the main collection. There’s also a couple of big metal door slams thrown in for good measure.
