If Eiravaein Works had a middle name, it would be custom. Â The way we see it, the conceptual foundation of “custom” is a way of life. Â True, by the nature of what we do, custom work is quintessential to our workflow and design process. Â Yet, from the start of any design to well beyond its completion, we stay consistently mindful of the ways of traditional crafts folk and how they used their strengths, dexterity, and intuition to create unique items and experiences for their customers. Â There is a special factor to having something custom made and we keep that “hand-wrought” philosophy core to our specialty. Â Custom makes it personal, it adds a story. Â It forges the human element straight into the heart of the work with which it is connected.
We may do things a bit differently, but that is just because we don’t know any other way to do them.
This library is a bit different from the rest. Â Dx (“Diagnostic”) is a grouping of different audiometric and audiological elements in a neat, diversified package. Â Our goal was to aggregate audio tests from multiple disciplines and build them into a one-stop-shop collection that most sound designers, engineers, researchers, and artists could utilize as a mainstay in their audio toolbox.
In this collection you will find sets of: binaural beats, audiometric sweeps, full frequency sweeps, multi-spectrum noise, spatializations, resonance tones, impulses, dynamics tests, intermodulated distortion tests, aliasing tests, phase tests, and a few fun examples just for kicks.
These diagnostic sounds are provided in 96kHz/24-bit, 48kHz/24-bit, and 44.1kHz/16-bit resolutions.  There are various length and loudness combinations as well, so you don’t have to edit these files to use them for their intended tests.  That being said, this diagnostic audio can also be used very quick and precise ways in layered SFX designs.  Because they are so specific in their development, they can be used with an automatic mathematic disregard…and that, is a good thing.
Quick, clean, and precise. Â Enjoy.

The booming and serrated voice of a 100th anniversary edition American classic is upon you. And this Fat Boy had quite a lot to say. Mostly in a dialect of deliciously loud and explosive transients.
You’ll find that this library not only covers glorious engine dynamics and potato-y straight pipes, but also various switches, mechanics, linkages, electrical functions, the horn, and even a guardian bell. There are pass-bys and encircled recordings in both mono and MS formats (the latter of which are left raw for you to decode at gain and width settings appropriate to your needs), static running captures, and a structure of engine throttling that can give you delicate control over the engine’s power.
An onslaught of movement and force using various granularities of dirt-like substances. It’s all in the name. Dirty, gravelly, and ragged.
In this library you will find a myriad of gritty movement sounds derived from 4 different granularities: Course, Medium, Fine, and Ultrafine. There are sweeps, smears, crushes, scatterings, drops, scrapes, rubs, and more, with multiple variations of each. The assets chain together particularly well so that you can use them to make long continuous runs.
The timbre and dynamics of these sounds lend them to be used for many different designs than just scrapes and scratches, such as movement in snow or sand, powerful bursts, high energy flames, shifting heavy objects, large beast vocalizations (dragons, anyone?), and more. As well, their metadata is organized conveniently to allow you to grab chunks of variations on similar movements and drop them into your favorite audio implementation software for quick assignment to random containers or sequences for an asset or call.
This library will almost always find itself being thrown into a creative media project one way or another. Its full of a particular cornerstone sound that is essential to any sounds designer’s toolbox.  And with such a variety and versatility to explore, we promise it will serve you well.
A collection of sounds gathered from conceptual designs and audio experiments.  While not centered around a specific theme or topic, Vaeyan III will surely add unique and dynamic flavors to your sound vault.
A massive electro-acoustic drone SFX library reft from a custom designed and hand-built instrument! These drones were coaxed from a unique instrument using the power of air.  No harsh picking or plucking, just assorted techniques for moving air deftly across the strings.
The guitar, Yvaine, was recorded simultaneously via two tracks (one direct and another amped and mic’d) and was set to 23 different tunings to encompass the full spectrum of her voice, character, and soul. The tunings are as follows:
All5ths | B6th | Capo12th | CassianoPereiraViana | CrossnoteF | Cuba | DADGAD | DropB | Hawaiian | Koto | OpenA | OpenC | OpenD | OpenE | OpenF | OpenG | OpenPage | Orkney | Ostrich | Pentatonic | “Spira” | Standard | TheEdge
The files range from uber clean and harmonic to gritty, crackling, and distorted. For some of the overdriven amped recordings, we even experimented with creative NR settings for the modulation of artificial harmonics…and kept some of the more colorful results! Between the two different tracks, multiple takes were made per strength, per position, per recording. Depending on which takes were best, some of the DI and amped captures matched, while others were physically different. This offers unique layering capabilities for some sets while allowing for variety in others. Some of the sets are missing particular strength recordings at specific positions. But if a capture wasn’t appropriate, we didn’t include it.

There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
