Symphonic Ambiences Vol.1 Teaser

Overview:
Symphonic Ambiences: Volume 1 is the world’s first modular ambience library. Each scene is composed of richly detailed layers, allowing you to design evocative atmospheres faster than ever. This massive collection has 41 scenes, 242 isolated layers, and over 15 hours of audio. Themes include cities, suburbs, offices, public places, fictional locations, and more.

Full Spectrum Sound:
Much like an orchestral composition, source material in the ‘lows’ ‘mids’ and ‘highs’ are layered in to create a full-bodied soundscape. Incidental layers accent the ambience, adding character and details to locations. Steady layers such as room tones and airs provide a solid bedrock for scenes to feel alive.

Rich Recordings:
There is no shortcut to obtaining high quality ambiences. Capturing various types of weather, locations, and rare events all require patience and time. Many of the recordings were made in the past few years, but some were made as far back as 10 years ago. Some sounds were synthesized for elements you can’t capture legally, such as faux video game arcade sounds. All synthesized elements have been futzed and worldized to give a sense of life and space.

Post-Processing:
Meticulous care was given to remove all unwanted noise such as mic bumps, rumble, hiss, etc.. Furthermore, any transients that could be perceived as dreaded ‘clicks’ or ‘pops’ were carefully removed. This library was mastered at a dynamic listening level, therefore almost no compression was necessary. In rare instances where elements felt like they stuck out, they were tucked in the mix with manual leveling.

No Need For Loops:
Each ambience has an average length of 4 minutes. This gives you plenty of coverage for scenes without the need to loop material. Generally, scenes with more complexity are longer, while scenes with less activity are shorter. It’s worth noting that no two sounds are shared between files, so, bird chirps in one scene will always be different in another.

Metadata:
Metadata has been thoroughly filled out, making searches fast and easy. This library is UCS compliant, with proper category and subcategory assignments for all files. Description fields are thorough yet concise. Unique keywords have been filled out for each file to help zip through searches. The mic perspective fields have been filled out to sort interiors from exteriors, as well as near from far.

Gear Used:
Sound Devices 744t, Tascam DR-100mkII, Sony D100, Sennheiser MKH40/30, MKH8040’s, DPA4060’s, and too many other to list.
